Brillouin scattering (BS), photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS), and ultrasonic (US) measurements were conducted to study the curing process of diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A with butane-1,4-diol at a curing temperature of 100°C. The experimental techniques probe the primary glass-rubber transition during the curing reaction. The primary relaxation time τ obtained from the BS and US velocity and absorption increases with curing time and hence the BS experiment measures τ at earlier stages of cure than the US experiment. The relaxation times at a different extent of reaction and for different measuring temperatures are consistent with BS, US, PCS, and DSC measurements and conform to a single reduced Vogel–Fulcher–Hesse–Tamann equation. The exponential growth of Internet during the last decade leads us to make more efforts in the researching and developing of sustainable Web servers in order to decrease the global energy demand. In this paper, we cover, as a first step, a proper review of the literature related to the energy efficiency research in Web server systems to depict the state of the art to plan further contributions as more research in sustainable Web systems. We describe the first shared task for figurative language resolution, which was organised within SemEval-2007 and focused
on metonymy. The paper motivates the linguistic principles of data sampling and annotation and shows the task’s feasibility
via human agreement. The five participating systems mainly used supervised approaches exploiting a variety of features, of
which grammatical relations proved to be the most useful. We compare the systems’ performance to automatic baselines as well
as to a manually simulated approach based on selectional restriction violations, showing some limitations of this more traditional
approach to metonymy recognition. The main problem supervised systems encountered is data sparseness, since metonymies in
general tend to occur more rarely than literal uses. Also, within metonymies, the reading distribution is skewed towards a
few frequent metonymy types. Future task developments should focus on addressing this issue.

Reports of bile duct injuries are from tertiary care institutions and, therefore, may not report the spectrum of management that these patients receive in the care of these injuries. From June 14,1990 (the first operation) to June 30, 1995, 2654 laparoscopic cholecystectomies (LCs) were reviewed at this community hospital medical center to determine risk factors contributing to the etiology of these injuries, time and symptoms at presentation, duration of illness, and management of these injuries. None of the 13 general surgeons practicing during this time period had laparoscopic training in a general surgical residency. There were six major bile duct injuries (0.25%), of which five were available for further review. All occurred in women with cholelithiasis and chronic cholecystitis. Two operations were routine and two were associated with biliary tract anomalies. In two patients, the injuries were detected at LCs and definitive biliary-enteric anastomoses were performed immediately. Three patients presented at 2, 15, and 42 days after LC. In two patients, one or more operative procedures were performed before definitive repair and these patients were referred to tertiary care centers. One patient was managed with sequential CT-guided drainage catheters after attempted closure of the defect. The length of illness for these five patients was 8, 69, 348, 402, and 435 days with a follow-up of 245, 345, 531, 575, and 1088 days. Laparoscopic experience before injury by the operating surgeon was 3, 26, 35, 77, and 333 operations. Major biliary tract injuries occurred during routine cholecystectomy, length of illness was substantial for most patients, and biliary-enteric anastomosis was definitive for four of the five patients. Virtual worlds, as electronic environments where individuals can interact in a realistic manner in form of avatars, are increasingly used by gamers, consumers and employees. Therefore, they provide opportunities for reinventing business processes. Especially, effective knowledge management (KM) requires the use of appropriate information and communication technology (ICT) as well as social interaction. Emerging virtual worlds enable new ways to support knowledge and knowing processes because these virtual environments consider social aspects that are necessary for knowledge creating and knowledge sharing processes. Thus, collaboration in virtual worlds resembles real‐life activities. In this paper, we shed light on the use of Second Life (SL) as a KM platform in a real‐life setting. To explore the potential and current usage of virtual worlds for knowledge and knowing activities, we conducted a qualitative study at IBM. We interviewed IBM employees belonging to a special workgroup called ‘Web 2.0/virtual worlds’ in order to gain experience in generating and exchanging knowledge by virtually collaborating and interacting. Our results show that virtual worlds – if they are able to overcome problems like platform stability, user interface or security issues – bear the potential to serve as a KM platform. They facilitate global and simultaneous interaction, create a common context for collaboration, combine different tools for communication and enhance knowledge and knowing processes. 相似文献
