The texture, structure, and magnetic and mechanical properties of thin ribbons of nickel-palladium alloys have been studied. It has been demonstrated that in Ni94Pd6 and Ni92.5Pd5W2.5 alloys, a sharp cube texture can be formed that is stable up to rather high annealing temperatures. Segregation of palladium atoms to surface layers of ribbons has been found, which gives additional advantages for using these ribbons as substrates for epitaxial deposition of high-temperature superconductors.  相似文献

OBJECTIVES: We sought to 1) study the effects of FS-069 on cardiac and systemic hemodynamic function, myocardial blood flow, left ventricular wall thickening and pulmonary gas exchange when injected intravenously; and 2) compare the myocardial kinetics and microvascular rheology of FS-069 and Albunex when injected directly into a coronary artery. BACKGROUND: FS-069 is a second-generation echocardiographic contrast agent composed of perfluoropropane-filled albumin microspheres; it is capable of consistent and reproducible myocardial opacification from a venous injection. METHODS: Nine dogs were used to study the effects of FS-069 on hemodynamic function, pulmonary gas exchange, left ventricular wall thickening and myocardial blood flow and to characterize its myocardial kinetics when injected intravenously. These dogs were also used to compare the myocardial kinetics of FS-069 with those of Albunex during intracoronary injections. Nine Sprague-Dawley rats were used to compare the microvascular rheology of these two contrast agents, and in vitro modeling was performed to assess whether the microvascular findings of FS-069 can explain its echocardiographic behavior during direct coronary injections. RESULTS: There were no effects of 30 rapid venous injections of FS-069 (every 20 s) on cardiac output; mean aortic, pulmonary or left atrial pressures; and peak positive and negative first derivative of left ventricular pressure (dP/dt). Similarly, there were no effects of this agent on radiolabeled microsphere-measured regional myocardial blood flow, left ventricular wall thickening or pulmonary gas exchange. When injected intravenously, the myocardial transit of this agent resembled a gamma-variate form. When diluted FS-069 was injected directly into the coronary artery; however, its transit resembled the integral of gamma-variate function, with persistent myocardial opacification lasting several minutes, which was different from that of Albunex. Intravital microscopy revealed that, unlike Albunex, when no bubbles are entrapped within the microcirculation after an arterial injection, a very small fraction of the diluted, larger FS-069 microbubbles are entrapped. In vitro modeling confirmed that this small fraction of microbubbles can result in persistent myocardial opacification. CONCLUSIONS: FS-069 produces no changes in hemodynamic function, myocardial blood flow, left ventricular wall thickening or pulmonary gas exchange when injected intravenously in large amounts. When diluted FS-069 is injected into the coronary artery, a very small fraction of the larger bubbles are entrapped within the microcirculation, resulting in a persistent contrast effect. Thus, although FS-069 is a safe intravenous echocardiographic contrast agent, it cannot provide information on myocardial blood flow when injected directly into a coronary artery.  相似文献

Myocardial perfusion may be very broadly defined as the tightly regulated nutrient delivery to cardiac tissue. The different components of perfusion are myocardial blood flow, oxygen delivery, myocardial oxygen consumption, and myocardial blood volume. Historically, focus has been placed mostly on the assessment of blood flow. In many instances, knowledge of flow without information about these other aspects is inadequate. This review discusses the various cardiac imaging techniques used for the assessment of myocardial perfusion that represent diverse physiologic measures of "perfusion." Their strengths and limitations are discussed as is their relevance to specific clinicopathologic conditions. Significant work still needs to be performed before all the aspects of myocardial perfusion can be precisely measured in human beings.  相似文献

Behavior of cold-rolled fcc Ni88.4Cr9.2W2.4 alloy during heating has been studied. Two consecutive exothermic processes were detected using differential scanning calorimetry, high-temperature X-ray diffraction, and dilatometry. The processes were identified as polygonization and recrystallization, which lead to cube texture formation, as was shown by X-ray diffraction and electron backscatter diffraction. Feasibility of a waste material, flyash, as a material for purification of wastewater containing Lissamine Red has been studied. Effects of time and concentration, temperature and pH on the removal of the dye have been studied. Lower concentrations favour the uptake of dye from water and the maximum removal was observed at a dye concentration of 20 mgL m 1 , 30°C, pH of 7 and adsorbent particle size of 53 µm. Dynamics of the uptake was studied using Lagergren's equation. The mass transfer coefficient was found to be 0.05 cmmin m 1 at a concentration of 20 mgL m 1 , 30°C and 53 µm particle size.  相似文献

The concept of immobilization technology has been incorporated in this research study for biomethanation of high strength herbal based pharmaceutical wastewater. Accordingly, an investigation has been made on laboratory scale to assess the feasibility of an anaerobic fixed film fixed bed reactor system to pre-treat herbal-based pharmaceutical wastewater with recourse to energy recovery, including influence of operating conditions. The work was carried out with laboratory-scale upflow reactor, equipped with nylon scrubber as random support. The reactor was operated at 35 degrees C. COD removal efficiencies ranging from 76 to 98% were achieved for organic loading rates upto 10 kgCOD/m3 d, while the highest organic loading rate (around 48 kg COD/m3 d) led to efficiencies of 46-50%. The influences of hydraulic retention time and substrate concentration were also studied. The reactors did now show destabilization under impulse hydraulic and organic overloadings. Reactor stability was easily achieved under intermittent operation, with breaks, after which the reactors rapidly returned to their optimal performance.  相似文献

Tannery wastewater was treated by an electrochemical oxidation method using Ti/Pt, Ti/PbO2 and Ti/MnO2 anodes and a Ti cathode in a two‐electrode stirred batch reactor. The changes in colour concentration, chemical oxygen demand (COD), ammonia (NH4+), sulfide and total chromium have been determined as a function of treatment time and applied current density. Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) analysis, performed on the wastewater samples before and after treatment, as well as on foam samples, is reported. Anode efficiency, rate constants and energy consumption were estimated and discussed. The efficiency of Ti/Pt was 0.802 kgCOD h?1 A?1m?2 and 0.270 kgNH4+ h?1 A?1m?2, and the energy consumption was 5.77 kWh kg?1 COD and 16.63 kWh kg?1 of NH4+. The order of efficiency of anodes was found to be Ti/Pt ? Ti/PbO2 > Ti/MnO2. The results indicate that the electro‐oxidation method could be used for effective oxidation of tannery wastewater and a final effluent with substantially reduced pollution load can be obtained. © 2001 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

Oxidative treatment of H-acid (HA) and Reactive Black 5 (RB5) using Fenton reagent (Fe2+/H2O2) and the electro-Fenton (EF) method is reported. Optimization of doses of ferrous iron and hydrogen peroxide was carried out in each case using HA; and the oxidation of RB5 was also carried out under the optimized conditions. Approximately 71% chemical oxygen demand (COD) was removed in 2 h using the conventional Fenton method at optimized doses: Fe2+ = 0.3?g/L (5.37 mM), H2O2 = 6?mL/L (53.0 mM), H2O2/Fe2+ = 10. In contrast, more than 92% COD was removed in 15 min using the EF method with an optimized Fe2+ dose of 0.130?g/L (2.34 mM) and 8?ml/L (70.6 mM) of H2O2. The pseudo-first-order rate constants (k) for the Fenton reagent and EF method were 0.054 and 0.38?min?1. The COD removal through the EF method was seven times faster. The calculated energy requirement of the EF method was 0.82?kg?COD/kW?h at the minimum applied current (0.25 A) when approximately 92.5% COD was removed. In the case of RB5, about 67 and 87% COD was removed under optimized Fenton and electro-Fenton conditions, respectively. The higher efficiency of the EF method was attributed to incremental addition of Fe2+ and accompanying higher H2O2/Fe2+ molar ratio. The results are discussed in the light of the mechanism for Fenton’s oxidation.  相似文献
