Design techniques for self-calibration of the digital-to-analog converter DAC in a multibit sigma-delta modulator are described. When used in conjunction with dynamic element matching, self-calibration provides linearity performance suitable for digital audio applications. The dynamic element matching circuitry provides the mechanism of determining device mismatch for self-calibration. Practical circuit details and an effective calibration method are discussed. Test results from a l-μm CMOS test chip are presented. In this test system, a second-order loop with a 3-b quantizer achieves an 89-dB dynamic range and -91-dB harmonic distortion after calibration. In addition, a new method of detecting the presence of tones is described, using the entropy of the spectrum of the decimation filter output  相似文献

Fourteen generalized equations of state were compared on the ability to predict gas-phase fugacity of pure compounds. The equations were tested using 30254 literature data points. The accuracy of the prediction varied with the equation and the range of temperature and pressure.  相似文献

An energy analysis, in conventional and organic vineyards, combined with ethanol production and greenhouse gas emissions, is useful in evaluating present situation and deciding best management strategies. The objective of this study was to evaluate the differences in the energy flow between organic and conventional vineyards in three locations, to calculate CO2, CH4 and N2O-emissions based on the used fossil energy and to explore if wine industry wastes can be used to extract bioethanol. The data were collected through personal interviews with farmers during 2004–2005. Eighteen farmers, who owned vineyards about 1 ha each, were randomly selected to participate in this study [(3 conventional and 3 organic) × 3 locations]. The means averaged over all locations for fertilizer application, plant protection products application, transportation, harvesting, labor, machinery, fuels, plant protections products and tools energy inputs, total energy inputs, outputs (grapes), outputs (grapes + shoots), grape yield, man hour, pomace and ethanol from pomace were significantly higher in conventional than in organic vineyards, while the opposite occurred for the pruning. Means averaged over two farming systems for harvesting, tools energy inputs, energy outputs (grapes), grape yield, pomace and ethanol from pomace were significantly higher at location A, followed by location C and location B. Finally, for irrigation, the means averaged over the two farming systems were significantly lower at location C. Greenhouse gas emissions were significant lower in organic than in conventional vineyards. The results show a clear response of energy inputs to energy outputs that resulted from the farming system and location.  相似文献

Error correction techniques that overcome several error mechanism that can affect the accuracy of charge-redistribution analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) are described. A correction circuit and a self-calibration algorithm are used to improve the common-mode rejection of the differential ADC. A modified technique is used to self-calibrate the capacitor ratio errors and obtain higher linearity. The residual error of the ADC due to capacitor voltage dependence is minimized using a quadratic voltage coefficient (QVC) self-calibration scheme. A dual-comparator topology with digital error correction circuitry is used to avoid errors due to comparator threshold hysteresis. A fully differential charge-redistribution ADC implemented with these techniques was fabricated in a 5-V 1-μm CMOS process using metal-to-polysilicide capacitors. The successive-approximation converter achieves 16-b accuracy with more than 90 dB of common-mode rejection while converting at a 200-kHz rate  相似文献

The aim of this study is to present the seasonal variation of nutrients in the water column and the bottom sediments of Vistonis Lagoon, a hypereutrophic Mediterranean coastal lagoon located in Northern Greece, and to estimate the impact of bottom sediments on the water quality of this lagoon. Nutrient concentrations in the water column and in bottom sediments were determined throughout seven seasonal sampling cruises from May 2003 to October 2004. Physicochemical parameters, such as transparency, temperature, salinity, pH and dissolved oxygen, were measured in situ in the water column using suitable equipment. Nutrient concentrations in bottom water were found generally higher than those in surface water. Nitrogen, mainly as nitrates, and phosphorus are released into the water column from the bottom sediments, especially during the summer period. Anoxia in the bottom water, as well as resuspension of the sediments are the main factors affecting nutrient internal loading in this lagoon. An approximate calculation showed that total phosphorus release was about 80 mg m−2 d−1 for the period March–August 2004. Vistonis Lagoon restoration will be possible only through the minimization or elimination of both external and internal nutrient loadings.  相似文献

In this paper the scattering of a plane longitudinal or transverse wave by a penetrable ellipsoid in an isotropic and homogeneous elastic medium in the low-frequency region is examined. Using low-frequency expansions the scattering problem is reduced to a sequence of potential problems. Explicit closed-form solutions for the zeroth and first-order approximations are obtained. The solution of the problem was made possible by using an analytical technique based on Papkovich-Grodski-Neuber potentials. The normalized scattering amplitudes and the scattering cross-section are evaluated up to k 3-order terms, respectively.The author would like to thank the Greek Ministry of Research and Technology for partially supporting the present work.  相似文献

A laboratory prototype of a novel experimental apparatus for the analysis of spherical and axisymmetric nonspherical particles in liquid suspensions has been developed. This apparatus determines shape, volume, and refractive index, and this is the main difference of this apparatus from commercially available particle analyzers. Characterization is based on the scattering of a monochromatic laser beam by particles [which can be inorganic, organic, or biological (such as red blood cells and bacteria)] and on the strong relation between the light-scattering pattern and the morphology and the volume, shape, and refractive index of the particles. To keep things relatively simple, first we focus attention on axisymmetrical particles, in which case hydrodynamic alignment can be used to simplify signal gathering and processing. Fast and reliable characterization is achieved by comparison of certain properly selected characteristics of the scattered-light pattern with the corresponding theoretical values, which are readily derived from theoretical data and are stored in a look-up table. The data in this table were generated with a powerful boundary-element method, which can solve the direct scattering problem for virtually arbitrary shapes. A specially developed fast pattern-recognition technique makes possible the on-line characterization of axisymmetric particles. Successful results with red blood cells and bacteria are presented.  相似文献

Ligustrum japonicum and Olea europaea leaf extracts prepared via domestic techniques were studied for antioxidant and aldose reductase inhibitory activity (ARI) in relation to individual phenol/flavonoid composition (HPLC‐various detection means) and content. On the same extract weight basis L. japonicum leaf extracts, poorer in total polar phenol (TPP) content and in most cases in flavonoids, were less efficient than olive leaf extracts in radical scavenging and in retarding lipid oxidation. On the same TPP content basis, the former were of comparable efficiency in radical scavenging but exhibited lower activity than the latter in bulk oils or liposomes. L. japonicum extracts were characterized by the presence of verbascoside and apigenin derivatives, whereas O. europaea extracts by that of oleuropein. Superiority of L. japonicum infusion versus O. europaea infusion was evidenced using the ARI activity assay either on the same extract weight or on TPP content basis. The former was also superior in comparison to oleuropein, tyrosol, and hydroxytyrosol activity. These findings suggest the presence of other active compounds besides the so far identified phenolics and enhance our view on the importance of Oleaceae plants as sources of bioactive compounds beyond O. europaea. Practical applications : Oleaceae plants are a unique source for the secoiridoid oleuropein or verbascoside that confer well documented biological properties. On continuation of our effort to valorize plants of this family as sources for functional constituents we examined, in parallel, leaf extracts of the less investigated species Ligustrum japonicum versus those of Olea europaea L. The data presented for the extracts obtained via domestic preparations techniques (infusions, decoctions, tinctures) are expected to attract the interest of those involved in herbal teas and dietary supplements sector.  相似文献

Solutions of all-trans-β-carotene in liquid paraffin were stirred under air at 210°C for 15 min in the presence and absence of various amino acids. After cooling, the absorbance values at 460 nm of model systems containing all-trans-β-carotene and phenylalanine, cysteine or tryptophan were 34–58 times higher than that obtained on heating in the absence of an amino acid. Based on absorbance values at 420 nm, 86% of the coloured material present on heating the all-trans-β-carotene-phenylalanine model system at 210°C for 15 min was retained by the liquid paraffin on methanol extraction. The liquid paraffin phase remaining after methanol extraction was analysed by reverse-phase HPLC and three major components were identified as all-trans-β-carotene and two degradation products of all-trans-β-carotene, ie 9-cis-β-carotene and a furanoid diepoxy derivative. None could be detected on heating all-trans-β-carotene alone, suggesting that its degradation was retarded on heating in the presence of phenylalanine.  相似文献
