This study explored whether factors related to the work environment could predict changes in body mass index (BMI) and whether the effect of psychosocial factors was dependent on baseline BMI. The sample consisted of 1,980 male employees from the Danish National Work Environment Cohort Study. Changes in BMI between 1995 and 2000 were analyzed, by multiple regression, as a function of background variables and a series of occupational variables obtained in 1995. Age, baseline BMI, job insecurity, and psychological demands predicted changes in BMI. Job insecurity and high or low psychological demands increased the likelihood of weight gain among obese employees, whereas they increased the likelihood of weight loss among employees with a low BMI. This paper addresses the aging behaviour of NiCr/CuNiMn/NiCr triple layers on Al2O3 ceramics at temperatures up to 200°C for film thicknesses d0.5 μm. Investigations of the film structure and the increase of resistance and its temperature coefficient during the annealing process and studies of the dependence of this aging drift on both the film thickness and the storage temperature have been carried out. Furthermore, the film stress and the effect of substrate bending on resistance have been measured. The results can be explained by the irregular film structure (columns and small bridges between them), which causes stress and current concentrations as well as local creeping, cracking and oxidation processes in the micro-bridges. They are compared with such for structurally homogeneous films on silicon wafers.  相似文献

This paper presents two probabilistic developments for the use with electromyograms (EMGs). First described is a neuroelectric interface for virtual device control based on gesture recognition. The second development is a Bayesian method for decomposing EMGs into individual motor unit action potentials (MUAPs). This Bayesian decomposition method allows for distinguishing individual muscle groups with the goal of enhancing gesture recognition. All examples presented rely upon sampling EMG data from a subject's forearm. The gesture-based recognition uses pattern recognition software that has been trained to identify gestures from among a given set of gestures. The pattern recognition software consists of hidden Markov models, which are used to recognize the gestures as they are being performed in real time from moving averages of EMGs. Two experiments were conducted to examine the feasibility of this interface technology. The first replicated a virtual joystick interface, and the second replicated a keyboard. Moving averages of EMGs do not provide an easy distinction between fine muscle groups. To better distinguish between different fine motor skill muscle groups, we present a Bayesian algorithm to separate surface EMGs into representative MUAPs. The algorithm is based on differential variable component analysis, which was originally developed for electroencephalograms. The algorithm uses a simple forward model representing a mixture of MUAPs as seen across multiple channels. The parameters of this model are iteratively optimized for each component. Results are presented on both synthetic and experimental EMG data. The synthetic case has additive white noise and is compared with known components. The experimental EMG data were obtained using a custom linear electrode array designed for this study.  相似文献

The present study proposes a new approach for the assessment of the human balance control. This approach is based on the decomposition of the center of pressure displacement using empirical mode decomposition (EMD) that provides an effective time-frequency analysis of non-stationary signals. Twenty-eight healthy subjects performed quiet standing in four conditions—feet apart/together with respect to eyes open/closed—while recording the stabilometric signals in the anteroposterior (AP) and mediolateral (ML) directions. The EMD method decomposes each stabilometric signal into several subsignals called intrinsic mode functions (IMFs). Stabilogram-diffusion analysis technique is applied to generate the diffusion curve of each IMF signal. Each diffusion curve is modeled as a second-order system and provides representative features, such as the gain parameter. Analysis of the gain parameter shows the major effect of visual input and feet conditions on the strategy to control/stabilize the balance. Significant differences were found between young and elderly, and between women and men. In addition, the impact of feet position seems to be higher in ML direction than in AP direction.  相似文献

We examine how the estimation error grows with time when a mobile robot estimates its location from relative pose measurements without global position or orientation sensors. We show that, in both two-dimensional and three-dimensional space, both the bias and the variance of the position estimation error grows at most linearly with time asymptotically. Non-asymptotic bounds on the bias and variance are obtained, which provide insight into the mechanism of error growth. The bias is crucially dependent on the trajectory of the robot. Conclusions on the asymptotic growth rate of the bias continue to hold even with unbiased measurements or error-free translation measurements. Exact formulas for the bias and the variance of the position estimation error are provided for two specific two-dimensional trajectories–straight line and periodic. Experiments with a P3-DX wheeled robot and Monte Carlo simulations are provided to verify the theoretical predictions. A method to reduce the bias is proposed based on the lessons learned.  相似文献

The microstructures of BME-X7R ceramics have been investigated by imaging and analytical TEM. By varying the sintering conditions (pressing, sintering temperature and atmosphere), the microstructure changes drastically, and dislocation loops can be observed. These defects most probably are caused by an ordering of oxygen vacancies in the lattice, and the density appears to be correlated to the oxygen partial pressure applied during the reoxidation step. For pressed and unpressed ceramic foils, a model for different sintering behaviors according to liquid-phase assistance is given that is based on a kinetically determined microstructure rather than thermodynamic equilibrium.  相似文献

The near-field and the far-field patterns from the high-gain S band antenna an the METEOSAT are calculated by the geometrical theory of diffraction. The average time needed to form unions of disjoint equivalence classes, using an algorithm suggested by Aho, Hopcroft, and Ullman, is shown to be linear in the total number of elements, thereby establishing a conjecture of Yao. The analytic methods used to prove this result are of interest in themselves, as they are based on extensions of Stepanov's approach to the study of random graphs.
