Nitriding of steel parts for machine construction in an endothermic atmosphere

Conclusion To ensure the required characteristics of the diffusion layer in heat-resistant steels, it is recommended to subject them to two-stage nitriding: saturation at 950°C for 2 h in endogas with an addition of 12% natural gas and 4% ammonia, lowering the temperature to 900°C, holding for 5 h in endogas with an addition of 6% natural gas and 4% ammonia; exchange of gas 6 times.Translated from Metallovedenie i Termicheskaya Obrabotka Metallov, No. 4, pp. 34–36, April, 1982.     

Consumption of basic foods, state of health and physical work capacity of middle school students

Actual nutrition, health state and physical working capacity were studied in schoolchildren of three age groups after intake of the polyvitamin "Undevitum" during a month. The results of the investigation conducted have shown that prophylactic measures produced a positive effect on the schoolchildren aged from 11 to 13 and from 14 to 17 years who received 1 degree of "Undevitum" daily. No positive effect was recorded in schoolchildren aged 7-10 years who received 1 degree of "undevitum"/day, every other day.     

Investigation of stability of nonlinear continuous-discrete models of economic dynamics using vector Lyapunov function. I

Modification and extension of procedures of strict analysis of stability and estimates of domains of attraction based on the reduction method with sublinear vector Lyapunov function is given for sufficiently wide class of nonlinear stabilization systems of continuous objects using piecewise constant control formed using discrete state measurements. The new type of realization of heterogeneous comparison systems in the form of interconnected differential and discrete impulse subsystems with varying right-hand side allowing to avoid preliminary discretization of the original system and thus increasing accuracy of investigations is proposed. In the case of nonlinearities (including those with respect to control and measurements), limited by semi-homogeneous functions. Constructive conditions of exponential stability with necessary quantitative estimates are formulated. Application to investigation of stability of economic growth in the Phillips-Bergstrom model with discrete monetary regulation is presented. The paper consists of two parts. In this part, the studied models are described, the studied stability property is defined, procedures for construction of vector Lyapunov function and comparison system are given, and some of their specific features are established.     

Estimation of the parameters of an imminent seismic event focus by the free surface strains

Dilatancy zones generated by an active internal source of isolated force in a heterogeneous rock mass are studied. Machining polymer workpieces on a lathe after preliminary surface deformation

Preliminary surface deformation (rolling) is proposed in the turning of polymers. The dependence of the surface roughness on the rolling and cutting conditions is derived.     

Comparative Testing of One-Coat Enamels for Pipes

Comparative testing of industrially produced enamels and synthesized fluorine-free one-coat enamels was carried out. It was established that fluorine-free enamels of new compositions in certain properties (firing interval, chemical resistance, impact strength, etc.) exceed the existent analogs. The enamels are environmentally safe, have been subjected to extensive industrial testing, and have been accepted for production at various companies manufacturing steel pipes with enameled inner surfaces.
