The current study establishes the unprecedented involvement in the evolution and production of novel core–shell nanocomposites composed of nanosized titanium dioxide and aniline‐o‐phenylenediamine copolymer. TiO2@copoly(aniline and o‐phenylenediamine) (TiO2@PANI‐o‐PDA) core–shell nanocomposites were chemically synthesized in a molar ratio of 5:1 of the particular monomers and several weights of nano‐TiO2 via oxidative copolymerization. The construction of the TiO2@PANI‐o‐PDA core–shell nanocomposites was ascertained from Fourier transform IR spectroscopy, UV–visible spectroscopy and XRD. A reasonable thermal behavior for the original copolymer and the TiO2@PANI‐o‐PDA core–shell nanocomposites was investigated. The bare PANI‐o‐PDA copolymer was thermally less stable than the TiO2@PANI‐o‐PDA nanocomposites. The core–shell feature of the nanocomposites was found to have core and shell sizes of 17 nm and 19–26 nm, respectively. In addition, it was found that the addition of a high ratio of TiO2 nanoparticles increases the electrical conductivity and consequently lowers the electrical resistivity of the TiO2@PANI‐o‐PDA core–shell nanocomposites. The hybrid photocatalysts exhibit a dramatic photocatalytic efficacy of methylene blue degradation under solar light irradiation. A plausible interpretation of the photocatalytic degradation results of methylene blue is also demonstrated. Our setup introduces a facile, inexpensive, unique and efficient technique for developing new core–shell nanomaterials with various required functionalities and colloidal stabilities. © 2018 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

The main objective of this study is to explore the utility of a neural network-based approach in hand gesture recognition. The proposed system presents two recognition algorithms to recognize a set of six specific static hand gestures, namely open, close, cut, paste, maximize, and minimize. The hand gesture image is passed through three stages: preprocessing, feature extraction, and classification. In the first method, the hand contour is used as a feature that treats scaling and translation of problems (in some cases). However, the complex moment algorithm is used to describe the hand gesture and to treat the rotation problem in addition to scaling and translation. The back-propagation learning algorithm is employed in the multilayer neural network classifier. The second method proposed in this article achieves better recognition rate than the first method.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Food products as a source of natural colorants are gaining widespread popularity around the globe due to their ayurvedic and eco-friendly nature. Current study is aimed with the utilization of food products (Saffron and madder) as a source of dye for woolen yarn. It is found that, for Saffron, irradiation of yarn for 6 min gives high color strength by dyeing for 45 min in the presence of 2% of salts using un-irradiated dye bath of 1 pH, whereas for madder, 4 min is optimal irradiation time for extract to dye irradiated yarn for 25 min in the presence of 6% of salts using the irradiated dye bath of pH 1. The mordanting carried out at optimal conditions show that using both extracts, woolen yarn dyed at optimal conditions has given good color characteristics. It is concluded that microwave radiation has not only improved natural dyeing process but also make the process more eco-friendly and sustainable as well.  相似文献

Optic nerve signals in a neuromorphic chip II: Testing and results   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Seeking to match the brain's computational efficiency, we draw inspiration from its neural circuits. To model the four main output (ganglion) cell types found in the retina, we morphed outer and inner retina circuits into a 96 x 60-photoreceptor, 3.5 x 3.3 mm2, 0.35 microm-CMOS chip. Our retinomorphic chip produces spike trains for 3600 ganglion cells (GCs), and consumes 62.7 mW at 45 spikes/s/GC. This chip, which is the first silicon retina to successfully model inner retina circuitry, approaches the spatial density of the retina. We present experimental measurements showing that the chip's subthreshold current-mode circuits realize luminance adaptation, bandpass spatiotemporal filtering, temporal adaptation and contrast gain control. The four different GC outputs produced by our chip encode light onset or offset in a sustained or transient fashion, producing a quadrature-like representation. Thunderstorm generated gust fronts are responsible for various degrees of structural damage in many areas of the world. However, the resulting impact of gust front winds is not fully understood to such a level that their flow kinematics, dynamics and impact on structures can be quantified with some certainty. Gust front winds are transient in nature and have a flow profile which differs significantly from a typical boundary layer flow field. This study focuses on investigating the effects of this flow profile and its transient nature on the aerodynamics of bluff, prismatic bodies. A gust front type flow field is generated using a multiple fan wind tunnel and the resulting surface pressures are captured on a suite of prismatic models, which vary in size in relationship to the oncoming wind profile. The temporal variations in surface pressures are analyzed using traditional time, frequency and time-frequency domain schemes. Results indicate the changing nature of the surface pressure field in time, highlighting both qualitative and quantitative differences between local and area-averaged pressures under a host of flow profiles.  相似文献

This study was carried out to determine the effect of moisture content on some physical properties of kola nut seed. Four moisture levels ranging from 47.48 to 61.4 % wet basis (w.b.) was considered. Results showed that there was linear increase in the mean length, width, thickness, geometric mean diameter, surface area, volume, sphericity, aspect ratio, 1,000 nut mass, bulk and true densities, and static coefficient of friction at different surfaces (mild steel and wood) by 3.58, 3.96, 6.29, 4.98, 10.72, 16.87, 1.54, 1.50, 26.23, 11.50, 7.27, and 17.86 to 23.53 %, respectively, with increase in moisture content from 47.48 to 61.4 % (w.b.). Furthermore, the angle of repose increased by 17.45 % while the porosity decreased by 3.85 % with increase in moisture content.  相似文献

The generation of nucleic acid aptamers with high affinity typically entails a time-consuming, iterative process of binding, separation, and amplification. It would therefore be beneficial to develop an efficient selection strategy that can generate these high-quality aptamers rapidly, economically, and reproducibly. Toward this goal, we have developed a method that efficiently generates DNA aptamers with slow off-rates. This methodology, called VDC-MSELEX, pairs the volume dilution challenge process with microfluidic separation for magnetic bead-assisted aptamer selection. This method offers improved aptamer selection efficiencies through the application of highly stringent selection conditions: it retrieves a small number (<10(6)) of magnetic beads suspended in a large volume (>50 mL) and concentrates them into a microfluidic chamber (8 μL) with minimal loss for continuous washing. We performed three rounds of the VDC-MSELEX using streptavidin (SA) as the target and obtained new DNA aptamer sequences with low nanomolar affinity that specifically bind to the SA proteins.  相似文献
