Polycrystalline thin films of CuIn1−xGaxTe2 have been deposited by flash evaporation on Corning glass 7059 substrates at Ts=200°C. Hall and resistivity measurements have been carried out down to 77 K. These films are p-type and the variation of the resistivity may be linked to defects, disorder of the material or grain boundaries. The PL spectra of these films after annealing in argon atmosphere at Ta=450°C have showed a broad band emission between 0.98 and 1.12 eV in which the main peak appears at 1.05 eV (at 4.2 K).  相似文献

This study examined the efficacy of eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) and exposure in the treatment of a specific phobia. Twenty-six spider phobic children were treated during 2 treatment phases. During the first phase, which lasted 2.5 hr, children were randomly assigned to either (a) an EMDR group (n?=?9), (b) an exposure in vivo group (n?=?9), or (c) a computerized exposure (control) group (n?=?8). During the 2nd phase, all groups received a 1.5-hr session of exposure in vivo. Therapy outcome measures (i.e., self-reported fear and behavioral avoidance) were obtained before treatment, after Treatment Phase 1, and after Treatment Phase 2. Results showed that the 2.5-hr exposure in vivo session produced significant improvement on all outcome measures. In contrast, EMDR yielded a significant improvement on only self-reported spider fear. Computerized exposure produced nonsignificant improvement. Furthermore, no evidence was found to suggest that EMDR potentiates the efficacy of a subsequent exposure in vivo treatment. Approximately 30 years ago, endoglin was identified as a transforming growth factor (TGF)-β coreceptor with a crucial role in developmental biology and tumor angiogenesis. Its selectively high expression on tumor vessels and its correlation with poor survival in cancer patients led to the exploration of endoglin as a therapeutic target for cancer. The endoglin neutralizing antibody TRC105 (Carotuximab®, Tracon Pharmaceuticals (San Diego, CA, USA) was subsequently tested in a wide variety of preclinical cancer models before being tested in phase I-III clinical studies in cancer patients as both a monotherapy and in combination with other chemotherapeutic and anti-angiogenic therapies. The combined data of these studies have revealed new insights into the role of endoglin in angiogenesis and its expression and functional role on other cells in the tumor microenvironment. In this review, we will summarize the preclinical work, clinical trials and biomarker studies of TRC105 and explore what these studies have enabled us to learn and what questions remain unanswered.  相似文献

We present a qHD (960 × 540 with three sub‐pixels) top‐emitting active‐matrix organic light‐emitting diode display with a 340‐ppi resolution using a self‐aligned IGZO thin‐film transistor backplane on polyimide foil with a humidity barrier. The back plane process flow is based on a seven‐layer photolithography process with a CD = 4 μm. We implement a 2T1C pixel engine and use a commercial source driver IC made for low‐temperature polycrystalline silicon. By using an IGZO thin‐film transistor and leveraging the extremely low off current, we can switch off the power to the source and gate driver while maintaining the image unchanged for several minutes. We demonstrate that, depending on the image content, low‐refresh operation yields reduction in power consumption of up to 50% compared with normal (continuous) operation. We show that with the further increase in resolution, the power saving through state retention will be even more significant.  相似文献

Research has identified several anxiety and fear constructs that contribute directly or indirectly to the chronic course of pain. One way to gain insight into the frequently observed interrelations between these constructs may be by conceptualizing them within a hierarchical structure. In this structure, general and specific constructs are proposed at different levels of a hierarchical tree. The present study sought to find evidence for this idea by exploring the dimensional and componential structure of a hierarchical representation of pain-related anxiety constructs. Small cards describing the individual items of 9 pain-related anxiety measures were presented to undergraduate students (N = 294), who were asked to sort them into piles of what they perceived as items of similar meaning. Cluster analysis (additive tree analyses) revealed cluster groups that could be interpreted along the lines of the proposed hierarchical structure. Multidimensional scaling analysis showed that the similarity data are characterized by a dimension that runs from general affective to pain-specific concerns. This study thus offers empirical support for the postulation of a general and specific hierarchical ordering of these constructs. Furthermore, its results endorse the independent use of various pain-related anxiety measures in research and practice aiming to assess negative emotional constructs that contribute to pain. The effects of shock cooling and swelling with carbon tetrachloride on the dynamic mechanical spectrum of high density polyethylene have been studied with a torsional pendulum. The resulting spectra have a well-defined loss peak at ?65°C which is associated with the glass transition of high density polyethylene. Similar experiments on polypropylene and low density polyethylene demonstrate the similar effects of these treatments on their glass transitions.  相似文献

The prevalence and cost of chronic pain is a major physical and mental health care problem in the United States today. As a result, there has been a recent explosion of research on chronic pain, with significant advances in better understanding its etiology, assessment, and treatment. The purpose of the present article is to provide a review of the most noteworthy developments in the field. The biopsychosocial model is now widely accepted as the most heuristic approach to chronic pain. With this model in mind, a review of the basic neuroscience processes of pain (the bio part of biopsychosocial), as well as the psychosocial factors, is presented. This spans research on how psychological and social factors can interact with brain processes to influence health and illness as well as on the development of new technologies, such as brain imaging, that provide new insights into brain-pain mechanisms. This study investigated the remedial value of blushing in the context of clear-cut predicaments. Besides testing the effects of displaying a blush on a neutral expression, we investigated whether blushing increased the remedial properties of shameful and embarrassed expressions. After reading a vignette describing either a transgression (Experiment 1; N = 66) or a mishap (Experiment 2; N = 62), participants saw pictures of people with or without a blush and rated them on several dimensions (e.g., sympathy, trustworthiness). The results of both experiments supported the hypothesis that blushing has remedial properties. In most instances, blushing actors were evaluated more favorably than their nonblushing counterparts. Although people often consider blushing to be an undesirable response, our results showed that, in the context of transgressions and mishaps, blushing is a helpful bodily signal with face-saving properties. Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare, severe, auto-immune disease characterized by inflammation, vasculopathy and fibrosis. Activated (myo)fibroblasts are crucial drivers of this fibrosis. By exploiting their expression of fibroblast activation protein (FAP) to perform targeted photodynamic therapy (tPDT), we can locoregionally deplete these pathogenic cells. In this study, we explored the use of FAP-tPDT in primary skin fibroblasts from SSc patients, both in 2D and 3D cultures. Method: The FAP targeting antibody 28H1 was conjugated with the photosensitizer IRDye700DX. Primary skin fibroblasts were obtained from lesional skin biopsies of SSc patients via spontaneous outgrowth and subsequently cultured on plastic or collagen type I. For 2D FAP-tPDT, cells were incubated in buffer with or without the antibody-photosensitizer construct, washed after 4 h and exposed to λ = 689 nm light. Cell viability was measured using CellTiter Glo®®. For 3D FAP-tPDT, cells were seeded in collagen plugs and underwent the same treatment procedure. Contraction of the plugs was followed over time to determine myofibroblast activity. Results: FAP-tPDT resulted in antibody-dose dependent cytotoxicity in primary skin fibroblasts upon light exposure. Cells not exposed to light or incubated with an irrelevant antibody-photosensitizer construct did not show this response. FAP-tPDT fully prevented contraction of collagen plugs seeded with primary SSc fibroblasts. Even incubation with a very low dose of antibody (0.4 nM) inhibited contraction in 2 out of 3 donors. Conclusions: Here we have shown, for the first time, the potential of FAP-tPDT for the treatment of fibrosis in SSc skin.  相似文献
