Cytokines produced by T lymphocytes, monocytes/macrophages, and fibroblasts play a central role in the immune response and in the development of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). Also, it has been reported that dysregulated production of cytokines maybe the primary mediator of clinical manifestation of acute GVHD. Regarding cytokine gene expression after human allogeneic bone marrow transplantation (allo BMT), we have demonstrated increased IL-1 beta, IL-6, and TNF-alpha mRNA expression in peripheral blood mononuclear cells during the development of acute and chronic GVHD and that the degree of the increase was dependent on the severity of the disease. Furthermore, overexpression of these cytokine mRNAs could be detected before the clinical manifestations of GVHD developed. In contrast, IL-2 mRNA expression was not detected in peripheral blood mononuclear cells in GVHD patients. On the other hand, we have reported that increased mRNA expression and protein product of IL-2 and IFN-gamma were evident in the mixed lymphocyte culture of the cases who developed severe lethal transplantation-related complications. Therefore, the detection of increased IL-2 and IFN-gamma gene expression in MLC appeared to be useful for predicting transplantation-related complications in BMT patients. Furthermore, we found increased IL-2 receptor alpha subunit mRNA expression in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells during GVHD. These findings may indicate the important role of inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1 beta, IL-6 and TNF-alpha in the development of the clinical manifestation of GVHD and also may be indicative of the important role of IL-2 and the IL-2 receptor in allo response perhaps mainly as an autocrine effect.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS) 相似文献

Platelet-activating factor (PAF) is a potent inflammatory mediator which is released by various inflammatory cells and produced
by certain tissues, including the kidney. PAF has been shown to increase glomerular permeability to protein and to decrease
glomerular filtration rate (GFR) by contracting mesangium. On the basis of these observations, it has been suspected that
PAF may play a role as mediator of glomerular damage in glomerular nephritis. To examine this possibility, we studied the
effects of a specific PAF antagonist, R-75,317, on the development of an experimental model of anti-glomerular basement membrane
(anti-GBM) glomerulonephritis. Glomerulonephritis was initiated by injecting rabbit anti-rat GBM serum into rats. Proteinuria
gradually developed after serum injection, plateaued at week 2, and remained at the high level of week 2 throughout the experimental
period (6 wk). Chronic treatment with R-75,317 (10 mg/kg/day i.p.) tended to delay the onset of proteinuria and significantly
accelerated the recovery phase. Creatinine clearance (Ccr) fell to 40% at week 3. R-75,317 treatment completely prevented
this decline of Ccr. Histological changes in this model (glomerular hypertrophy, proliferation of mesangial matrix and interstitial
fibrosis) were also ameliorated by the R-75,317 treatment. The results suggest that PAF may play a role in the development
of glomerulonephritis and that PAF antagonists could be used in the treatment of human renal disease.

A guideline for n- fully gate overlapped (FOLD) structure design optimization has been studied. From the viewpoint of reliability, the greatest reduction in substrate current directly leads to the most reliable n- design for the FOLD structure. The current path modulation phenomenon due to the trapped charge at the n - extension region dominates the hot-carrier induced characteristics change for conventional lightly doped drain (LDD) structure with side-wall spacer. This phenomenon is minimized in the FOLD structure due to its higher controllability of the gate electrode than the LDD structure at the n- extension region. The esters of dichloropropanols from the byproduct of hydrolysates during food processing were degraded by the cell-free extracts of a dichloropropanol-assimilating bacterium of Pseudomonas sp. OS-K-29. 1-Acyloxy-2,3-dichloropropane was hydrolysed into the corresponding carbonic acid and 2,3-dichloropropanol, and then the dichloropropanol was dechlorinated. The esterase activity of the cell-free extracts was effective for the esters of the dichloropropanols and monoacylglycerides, but not for hydrolysing the lipase substrates such as triacylglycerides and Tween 60. A comparative study using a series of octanoyl glycerides and the esters of the dichlopropanols showed that the substrate specificities of the cell-free extracts were similar to the monoacylglyceride lipase from Penicillium camembertii. 相似文献

Fluoroalkanoyl peroxides reacted with FULLERENES [fullerene (C60) and commercially available fullerenes (Nanom MixTR and Nanom BlackTR)] and radical polymerizable comonomers such as acrylic acid, N,N-dimethylacrylamide, N-(1,1-dimethyl-3-oxobutyl)acrylamide, and acryloylmorpholine to afford fluoroalkyl end-capped cooligomers having FULLERENES
in the main chain under very mild conditions. Fluoroalkyl end-capped Nanom Mix and Nanom Black cooligomers thus obtained were
found to exhibit a similar solubility to that of the corresponding fluoroalkyl end-capped cooligomers having fullerene in
the main chain. These fluorinated FULLERENES cooligomers were found to form the nanometer size-controlled self-assembled cooligomeric
aggregates in aqueous solutions. These fluoroalkyl end-capped FULLERENES cooligomers were more effective for solubilizing
fullerene, Nanom Mix and Nanom Black into water, compared to those of the corresponding fluoroalkyl end-capped homooligomers
having no FULLERENES in the main chain. Fluoroalkyl end-capped fullerene- and Nanom Mix-acrylic acid cooligomers were found
to exhibit fluorescence spectra related to fullerene and Nanom Mix in cooligomers, respectively, in aqueous solutions. Additionally,
these fluorinated fullerene- and Nanom Mix-acrylic acid cooligomers were able to increase chemiluminescence intensity related
to luminol, effectively, compared to the corresponding fluorinated acrylic

The humidity sensor characteristics of Woodceramics were investigated. The Woodceramics used in this experiment were prepared at 650–900°C. The size of specimens selected was 1 × 1 × 10 mm . One was used as-cut and the other was polished. Above 700°C, the resistance of the specimen was below 50 and the decrease of resistance with increasing relative humidity was small. The specimen prepared at 650°C had a resistance of about 1 k. The resistance of as-cut specimens decreased with increase in relative humidity, but that of the polished specimen did not change significantly. The difference between as-cut and polished samples was explained by the differences in surface micro-structure. 相似文献

Laser sintering of alkoxy-derived ultrafine BaTiO3 powders was investigated. The temperature increases of the sample with laser irradiation were measured with a thermocouple. It was found that laser irradiation could generate enough heat to sinter ceramics. A slurry was prepared by mixing an alkoxy-derived BaTiO3 powder, binder additives, solvent, and plasticizer. The slurry was tape cast and dried to give a green sheet. The green sheet was laser sintered and was then characterized by SEM, XRD, and density measurements. The effect of burnout before laser irradiation and the characteristic microstructure of laser-sintered BaTiO3 are described. 相似文献

The structure of silicon carbide–silicon nitride (SiC–Si3 N4 ) composite particles synthesized using a CO2 laser was studied by magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance (MAS-NMR) and electron spin resonance (ESR). The structure around Si atoms changed by introducing N. C atoms around Si were substituted by N atoms, and N-rich configurations around Si atoms increased stepwise as the N content increased. The low N content composite particles consisted of mainly SiC phase containing dissolved N. N atoms were partly present in β-SiC microcrystal and partly in the grain boundary layer in the particle. N atoms were tetrahedrally surrounded by four Si atoms in β-SiC microcrystal and were trivalent state bonded to three Si atoms in the grain boundary layer. The high N content particles consisted of SiC, Si3 N4 , and amorphous phases, whose amount depended on N content. 相似文献
