Gold‐coated nanodisk arrays of nearly micron periodicity are reported that have high figure of merit (FOM) and sensitivity necessary for plasmonic refractometric sensing, with the added benefit of suitability for surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), large‐scale microfabrication using standard photolithographic techniques and a simple instrumental setup. Gold nanodisk arrays are covered with a gold layer to excite the Bragg modes (BM), which are the propagative surface plasmons localized by the diffraction from the disk array. This generates surface‐guided modes, localized as standing waves, leading to highly confined fields confirmed by a mapping of the SERS intensity and numerical simulations with 3D finite element method. The optimal gold‐coated nanodisk arrays are applied for refractometric sensing in transmission spectroscopy with better performance than nanohole arrays and they are integrated to a 96‐well plate reader for detection of IgY proteins in the nanometer range in PBS. The potential for sensing in biofluids is assessed with IgG detection in 1:1 diluted urine. The structure exhibits a high FOM of up to 46, exceeding the FOM of structures supporting surface plasmon polaritons and comparable to more complex nanostructures, demonstrating that subwavelength features are not necessary for high‐performance plasmonic sensing. 相似文献

In this article we develop a new method to segment high angular resolution diffusion imaging (HARDI) data. We first estimate
the orientation distribution function (ODF) using a fast and robust spherical harmonic (SH) method. Then, we use a region-based
statistical surface evolution on this image of ODFs to efficiently find coherent white matter fiber bundles. We show that
our method is appropriate to propagate through regions of fiber crossings and we show that our results outperform state-of-the-art
diffusion tensor (DT) imaging segmentation methods, inherently limited by the DT model. Results obtained on synthetic data,
on a biological phantom, on real datasets and on all 13 subjects of a public NMR database show that our method is reproducible,
automatic and brings a strong added value to diffusion MRI segmentation.

This paper presents a new real-time localization system for a mobile robot. We show that autonomous navigation is possible
in outdoor situation with the use of a single camera and natural landmarks. To do that, we use a three step approach. In a
learning step, the robot is manually guided on a path and a video sequence is recorded with a front looking camera. Then a
structure from motion algorithm is used to build a 3D map from this learning sequence. Finally in the navigation step, the
robot uses this map to compute its localization in real-time and it follows the learning path or a slightly different path
if desired. The vision algorithms used for map building and localization are first detailed. Then a large part of the paper
is dedicated to the experimental evaluation of the accuracy and robustness of our algorithms based on experimental data collected

IDH (isocitrate dehydrogenase) mutation, hypoxia, and neo-angiogenesis, three hallmarks of diffuse gliomas, modulate the expression of small non-coding RNAs (miRNA). In this paper, we tested whether pro-angiogenic and/or pro-hypoxic miRNAs could be used to monitor patients with glioma. The miRNAs were extracted from tumoral surgical specimens embedded in the paraffin of 97 patients with diffuse gliomas and, for 7 patients, from a blood sample too. The expression of 10 pro-angiogenic and/or pro-hypoxic miRNAs was assayed by qRT-PCR and normalized to the miRNA expression of non-tumoral brain tissues. We confirmed in vitro that IDH in hypoxia (1% O2, 24 h) alters pro-angiogenic and/or pro-hypoxic miRNA expression in HBT-14 (U-87 MG) cells. Then, we reported that the expression of these miRNAs is (i) strongly affected in patients with glioma compared to that in a non-tumoral brain; (ii) correlated with the histology/grade of glioma according to the 2016 WHO classification; and (iii) predicts the overall and/or progression-free survival of patients with glioma in univariate but not in a multivariate analysis after adjusting for sex, age at diagnosis, and WHO classification. Finally, the expression of miRNAs was found to be the same between the plasma and glial tumor of the same patient. This study highlights a panel of seven pro-angiogenic and/or pro-hypoxic miRNAs as a potential tool for monitoring patients with glioma. 相似文献

A series of ionic polythiophenes, in homopolymer and random copolymer configurations, is prepared via the Grignard metathesis (GRIM) polymerization protocol and subsequent substitution on the bromohexyl side chains with N-methylimidazole. The introduced structural variations – comonomer ratio, side chain composition, counter ions – allow tuning of the thermal properties and solution behavior of the resulting conjugated polymers. As expected, the solubility depends majorly on the number of ionic groups and the counter ions. The most peculiar behavior is observed for the P3HT-P3(MIM)HT-Br 50/50 random copolymer, which shows organization of the polymer chains in solution and thin film dependent on the preparation conditions. Dynamic light scattering studies confirm that the ordered solid-state structure is somewhat maintained when the copolymer is dissolved in a bad solvent mixture. The ionic (co)polythiophenes are generally more resistant to thermal degradation than their precursors. The precursor polymers all show a clear semi-crystalline behavior, with a decrease in crystallinity upon decreasing the number of regular 3-hexylthiophene units. On the other hand, the studied ionic (co)polythiophenes are fully amorphous. Changes in the counter ions have dramatic effects on the thermal properties. Bromine counter ions render the polymers strongly hygroscopic. The novel materials are of particular appeal in the field of organic photovoltaics, in which the imidazolium-substituted (co)polythiophenes can be beneficially applied as constituents of either active layers or electron transport layers. The plug flow of a non‐Newtonian and a Newtonian liquid was experimentally investigated in a quartz microchannel (200‐µm internal diameter). Two aqueous glycerol solutions containing xanthan gum at 1000 and 2000 ppm were the non‐Newtonian fluids and 0.0046 Pa s silicone oil was the Newtonian phase forming the dispersed plugs. Two‐color particle image velocimetry was used to obtain the hydrodynamic characteristics and the velocity profiles in both phases under different fluid flow rates. The experimental results revealed that the increase in xanthan gum concentration produced longer, bullet‐shaped plugs, and increased the thickness of the film surrounding them. From the shear rate and viscosity profiles, it was found that the polymer solution was in the shear‐thinning region while the viscosity was higher in the middle of the channel compared to the region close to the wall.
