Our aim was to investigate the subset distribution and function of circulating monocytes, proinflammatory cytokine levels, gut barrier damage, and bacterial translocation in chronic spinal cord injury (SCI) patients. Thus, 56 SCI patients and 28 healthy donors were studied. The levels of circulating CD14+highCD16, CD14+highCD16+, and CD14+lowCD16+ monocytes, membrane TLR2, TLR4, and TLR9, phagocytic activity, ROS generation, and intracytoplasmic TNF-α, IL-1, IL-6, and IL-10 after lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulation were analyzed by polychromatic flow cytometry. Serum TNF-α, IL-1, IL-6 and IL-10 levels were measured by Luminex and LPS-binding protein (LBP), intestinal fatty acid-binding protein (I-FABP) and zonulin by ELISA. SCI patients had normal monocyte counts and subset distribution. CD14+highCD16 and CD14+highCD16+ monocytes exhibited decreased TLR4, normal TLR2 and increased TLR9 expression. CD14+highCD16 monocytes had increased LPS-induced TNF-α but normal IL-1, IL-6, and IL-10 production. Monocytes exhibited defective phagocytosis but normal ROS production. Patients had enhanced serum TNF-α and IL-6 levels, normal IL-1 and IL-10 levels, and increased circulating LBP, I-FABP, and zonulin levels. Chronic SCI patients displayed impaired circulating monocyte function. These patients exhibited a systemic proinflammatory state characterized by enhanced serum TNF-α and IL-6 levels. These patients also had increased bacterial translocation and gut barrier damage.  相似文献

Female adult rats were injected in the jugular vein with oleoyl-3H-estrone incorporated into liposomes. The label rapidly disappeared from the blood, being taken up by the tissues, mainly liver, spleen and lung, which filtered most of the label. However, many other tissues, such as the heart, brown adipose tissue, adrenals and visceral fat incorporated significant amounts of oleoyl-estrone. The analysis of the form in which the label remained 10 min after the injection showed that it was hydrolysed in a large proportion even in liver and lungs. However, in most tissues (brain, brown and white - periovaric - adipose tissues and ovaries), intact oleoyl-estrone accounted for less than one quarter of all tissue label, and less than 10% in the case of subcutaneous adipose tissue and uterus. This rapid destruction of oleoyl-estrone is in agreement with the active role of this compound in the control of body weight.  相似文献

This article reviews the method for allocating flow to irrigation plots proposed by Clément and Galand in (1979). Mention is made of its shortcomings, such as the lack of consideration given to the specific technical and economic factors governing current pressurized (drip or sprinkler) irrigation systems and how they provide water to plots. We propose a method for fixed irrigation systems, which takes into account the irrigation method on the plot and the existence of an optimum block area. The result is to allocate a constant flow of water to plots up to an established value of maximum surface area. From there on, we propose applying linear increases related to the total plot area. We also present a formula for calculating the maximum number of blocks based on variables that are easily obtainable during the project phase.  相似文献

A new line of investigation known as quantum neurology has been born in recent years. One of its objectives is to accomplish a better explanation of psychism. It basically explains the unity of consciousness, its holistic character, and the indeterminism of its responses. How is this “phenomenological explicandum” explained in classical neurological architecture? After commenting on the properties of classical architecture, we focus on the proposal of Edelman, since we consider it as probably one of the better proposals explaining psychism. The discussion of Edelman’s proposal, from the viewpoint of the problem about the “physical support” of psychism in classical physics, allows us to evaluate the strengths of his proposal, as well as the remaining insufficiencies in his explanation. The “heuristic” way of quantum neurology offers a new approach to the “phenomenological explicandum” that does not contradict, but completes classical architecture. The discussion regarding the Hameroff–Penrose hypothesis allows us to propose that the psycho-bio-physical ontology would have an architecture with three levels (or sub-architectures) and two (or three) interface systems among them. This hypothetical architecture permits us to reflect on the production of ontologies, architectures, and functional logics (real and artificial). In any case, the new quantum neurology would suggest new formulations of the psycho-bio-physical ontology by means of the graph theory (classical neurology) and of topology (quantum neurology).  相似文献

Nanostructured thin films of cerium dioxide have been prepared on single-crystalline silicon substrates by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis using cerium acetylacetonate as a metal–organic precursor dissolved in anhydrous methanol and acetic acid as an additive. The morphology, structure, optical index, and electrical properties were studied by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, ellipsometry, and impedance spectroscopy. The use of additives is very important to obtain crack-free films. The substrate temperature and flow rate was optimized for obtaining smooth ( R a<0.4 nm), dense ( n >2), and homogeneous nanocrystalline films with grain sizes as small as 10 nm. The influence of thermal annealing on the structural properties of films was studied. The low activation energy calculated for total conductivity (0.133 eV) is attributed to the nanometric size of the grains.  相似文献

The objective of this study is to determine the effect of the ageing time on the quality characteristics of yearling calf meat under vacuum. Ninety-six Rubia Gallega yearling calves were used. Samples of the Longissimus thoracis at 1 day post slaughter as a control, and vacuum-packaged for 7, 14 and 21 days were analysed. Colour (lightness, L*, redness, a*, yellowness, b*, hue, Ho, chroma, C*, and pigment concentration), water-holding capacity (expressible juice and cooking losses), pH and toughness were measured. The statistical analysis showed an increase in a*, b*, Ho and C* and a decrease in expressible juice, cooking losses and toughness as the ageing time increased. Discriminant analysis divided the samples into two groups; i.e., 1-day post-slaughter samples and vacuum-packaged samples. Considering vacuum-packaged samples only, canonical discriminant analysis separated the long-ageing samples (21 days) from the short-ageing samples (7 days).  相似文献

A general multi-scale vectorial total variation model with spatially adapted regularization parameter for color image restoration is introduced in this paper. This total variation model contains an L τ -data fidelity for any τ∈[1,2]. The use of a spatial dependent regularization parameter improves the reconstruction of features in the image as well as an adequate smoothing for the homogeneous parts. The automated adaptation of this regularization parameter is made according to local statistical characteristics of the noise which contaminates the image. The corresponding multiscale vectorial total variation model is solved by Fenchel-duality and inexact semismooth Newton techniques. Numerical results are presented for the cases τ=1 and τ=2 which reconstruct images contaminated with salt-and-pepper noise and Gaussian noise, respectively.  相似文献
