Continuous hydrolysis of olive oil byCandida cylindracea’s lipase was studied in a microporous hydrophobic membrane bioreactor. Olive oil and buffer solution, fed continuously through two compartments partitioned by membrane, caused reaction at the interface of lipase-adsorbed membrane and buffer solution. Fatty acid was obtained in a single phase without being mixed with components of other phases. At all mean residence times, countercurrent flow mode was superior to cocurrent one. The lipase was adsorbed onto the membrane, and its adsorption was suggested to be partially specific from the experiments with enzymes having various levels of purity. The percent hydrolysis depended hyperbolically on the interfacial enzyme concentration. The hydrolysis seemed to be limited by diffusion of fat or fatty acid through the micropores of the membrane at higher interfacial enzyme concentrations. The lipase was stabilized significantly by glycerol added to the buffer solution. Satisfactory performance of the membrane bioreactor was obtained in a longterm continuous operation which lasted for 24 days by feeding buffer-glycerol (18.0%) solution over the adsorbed lipase. The operational half-life of the adsorbed enzyme was 15 days at 40 C.  相似文献

Quaternary encoded binary circuits are more compact than their binary counterpart. Although quaternary reversible circuits are realizable, design of such circuits is still in its infancy. This work proposes a new, enhanced method of quaternary Galois field sum of products (QGFSOP) synthesis for quaternary quantum circuits. To reduce QGFSOP product terms, the algorithm makes use of 11 newly defined quaternary Galois field (QGF) expansions (for a total of 21 QGF expansions). This algorithm achieves QGFSOP minimization with the assistance of a pseudo-Kronecker Galois field decision diagram (QGFDD). This is a novel approach for QGFSOP synthesis. Finally, QGFSOP expressions are translated into quantum cost optimized quaternary quantum circuits using: (1) newly developed quaternary quantum gate realizations of controlled Feynman and Toffoli gate that are optimized in terms of quantum cost, (2) use of composite literals consisting of 1 digit and M–S gates. Performance evaluation against existing works in the literature determined that our proposed method achieves an average QGFSOP expression product term savings of 32.66 %. Also, the synthesized QGFSOP circuits were evaluated in terms of quantum cost.  相似文献

Abstract

Titanium, a difficult-to-cut material, consumes higher time and cost in removing material by machining to produce parts. Machining of Ti alloys has got serious attention owing to its reactive nature with tool materials at elevated temperature that aggravates tool wear. Reportedly, effective and efficient cooling and lubrication at the tool–work interface can ameliorate the machinability of Ti-alloys. In this perspective, this article interrogates the underlying mechanism of critical responses such as surface roughness, temperature, tool life and machining cost under dry, minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) and cryogenic liquid nitrogen (LN2) modes. The effect of cutting speeds and feed rates on such responses have been considered as a function of cooling strategy to standardize the cooling technique as the best alternative for machining. Cryogenic cooling seems to be preponderant regarding machining cost, temperature, surface roughness and tool life in hard turning of a–b titanium alloy. The feasibility of cryogenic cooling was investigated using the iso-response technique in comparison with dry and MQL-assisted hard turning. Experimental results revealed longer tool life and lower machining cost under cryogenic condition followed by MQL and dry machining. Moreover, cryogenic LN2 has been identified as an appropriate alternative to reduce the temperature and surface roughness. On contrary, dry turning evoked a high-temperature and rapid tool wear. In a nutshell, cryogenic assisted hard turning has acceded as a sustainable strategy from an environmental and economic perspective.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

A relatively better performance of jute fiber and yarn reinforced concrete composites can open up a wide access to application of natural resources in concrete strengthening. In order to achieve this goal, an experimental investigation on the flexural, compressive and tensile strengths of Jute Fiber Reinforced Concrete Composites (JFRCC) and Jute Yarn Reinforced Concrete Composites (JYRCC) has been conducted. To draw a specific conclusion, the mix ratios of 1:1.5:3 and 1:2:4 (by volume) of concrete have been maintained with incorporation of jute fiber and yarn in concrete mortar having different cut lengths with distinct volumetric ratios. Finally, a comparison of the JFRCC and JYRCC strength increments with respect to the plain concrete has been investigated. A significant increment of compressive, flexural and tensile strength was observed only for a short cut length having a low volumetric ratio, where JYRCC increment value was always found progressive. A far more regular arrangement and adequate mixture of JYRCC was also visualized compare to JFRCC in concrete mortar. All the principal increment values were found only in case of JYRCC with a mix ratio of 1:1.5:3. So, it can be concluded that the presence of jute yarn and more cement content can strengthen the concrete to a great extent.  相似文献

Sweetening, dehydration, natural gas liquid (NGL) recovery, and sale gas compression are four major treatment stages for the general natural gas processing. Here, a comprehensive gas processing plant (CGPP) coupling sweetening, dehydration, NGL recovery, and compression subsystems have been conceptually designed, modeled, and optimized based on field data. The development includes four major stages of work: (i) CGPP process development with Aspen HYSYS simulator; (ii) sensitivity studies for all distillation columns involved in the CGPP process to optimize their performances; (iii) sizing of major equipment of the CGPP; and (iv) economic evaluations with Aspen process economic analyzer to calculate the expected capital and operating expenditures for the developed CGPP process. Valuable insights of natural gas monetization from the viewpoint of large-scale process system integration, modeling, and optimization are provided.  相似文献

In this study, preparation of Si and Cd co doped (5 mol% Si and 5–20 mol% Cd) TiO2 dip-coated thin films on glass substrates via sol–gel process have been investigated. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Scanning electron microscopy analysis after heat treatments. XRD results suggested that adding dopants has a great effect on crystallinity and particle size of TiO2. Titania rutile phase formation was inhibited by Si4+ and promoted by Cd2+ doping. But the effect of Cd doped appeared at high concentration. Accordingly, the thin films showed various water contact angles. The water contact angles changed from 69.0° to 9.6° by changing the content of Cd doped.  相似文献

SiO2 nanoparticles doped by 10 mol% Zr and 10 mol% Cu were prepared via the sol-gel method in a controled process. The effects of doping and calcination temperature on the structural and photo-catalytic properties of SiO2 nanopowders were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy. The phases of cristobalite, quartz and tridymite were found at a calcinations temperature range of 800 to 1000 °C and only cristobalite phase was formed at a temperature of 1200 °C. The degradation of methyl orange was examined under visible light radiation indicating that the effect of doped elements (Zr, Cu) on SiO2 reduces the band gap effectively.  相似文献

Multiple-valued quantum logic circuits are a promising choice for future quantum computing technology since they have several advantages over binary quantum logic circuits. Adder/subtractor is the major component of the ALU of a computer and is also used in quantum oracles. In this paper, we propose a recursive method of hand synthesis of reversible quaternary full-adder circuit using macro-level quaternary controlled gates built on the top of ion-trap realizable 1-qudit quantum gates and 2-qudit Muthukrishnan–Stroud quantum gates. Based on this quaternary full-adder circuit we propose a reversible circuit realizing quaternary parallel adder/subtractor with look-ahead carry. We also show the way of adapting the quaternary parallel adder/subtractor circuit to an encoded binary parallel adder/subtractor circuit by grouping two qubits together into quaternary qudit values.  相似文献

Flaring is a major concern in the oil and gas industry as it wastes valuable raw materials/energy and emits a substantial amount of air pollutants. The produced water treatment during oil and gas production is very troublesome due to its large processing volume, high salinity, and expensive disposal cost. Thus, the on-site integration of the flaring gas recovery (FGR) and desalination processes for handling the produced water could not only monetize flare emission sources but could also generate freshwater for versatile usages. Here, a novel process was developed integrating the ejector-based FGR (EFGR) process with the thermal vapor compression (TVC)-based desalination process. The newly developed EFGR-TVC process is shown to be technically viable and cost-effective under normal operating conditions.  相似文献

Zinc (Zn) deficiencies are currently thought to cause chronic metabolic derangement leading to or exacerbating immune deficiencY, gastrointestinal problems, endocrine disorders, neurologic dysfunction, cancer, accelerated aging, degenerative disease, and more. Zn deficiency caused by malnutrition and foods with low bioavailability, aging, certain diseases, or deregulated homeostasis is a far more common risk to human health than intoxication. Higher dose of Zn should be limited to short-term use because of an increased risk of gastrointestinal adverse effects, copper deficiency, anemia, and genitourinary complications. This review has detonated the literature on the spectrum of health effects of Zn status, ranging from symptoms of Zn deficiency to excess exposure.  相似文献
