Electron beam melting (EBM) has been found to be a promising technology for producing complex shaped parts from gamma titanium aluminide alloys (γ-TiAl). The parts produced by this process are projected to have dimensions very close to the desired final shapes. However, the surface roughness of the parts produced by EBM is excessively rough. In many applications, it is necessary to improve the quality of manufactured parts using a convenient post process. This paper determines process parameters of end milling when it is used as a post process for the parts produced by EBM. Design of experiments has been used to study the effect of the selected input parameters of end milling (spindle speed, feed rate, depth of cut and coolant type) on the surface roughness of γ-TiAl parts. Response surface methodology is used to develop a predictive model for surface roughness. Effects of the selected milling process are investigated. This paper also optimizes the selected process parameters to minimize the value of the obtained surface roughness.  相似文献

Staphylococcus aureus growth and enterotoxin production during the manufacture of model Saint-Nectaire, Registered Designation of Origin Saint-Nectaire, and Registered Designation of Origin Salers cheeses, three types of uncooked, semihard, raw milk cheese, were investigated. Coagulase-positive staphylococci (SC+) grew rapidly during the first 6 h. Between 6 and 24 h, counts increased by less than 0.5 log CFU/ml. Raw milk counts ranged from undetectable (<10 CFU/ml) to 3.03 log CFU/ml. Maximal levels reached in cheese on day 1 ranged from 2.82 to 6.84 log CFU/g. The level of SC+ after 24 h was mainly influenced by the milk baseline SC+ level (correlation coefficient, r > 0.80) but pH at 6 h influenced the SC+ growth observed between 6 and 24 h (r > 0.70). Thus, the initial level of SC+ in raw milk should be maintained below 100 CFU/ml and best below 40 CFU/ml. To limit growth, acidification should be managed to obtain pH values around or below 5.8 at 6 h in Saint-Nectaire cheeses and around or below 6.3 at 6 h in Salers cheeses. Enterotoxins were only detected in two Salers cheeses whose SC+ counts on day 1 were 5.55 log CFU/g and 5.06 log CFU/g, respectively, and whose pH values at 6 h were high (approximately 6.6 and 6.5, respectively).  相似文献

Visible and near infrared reflectance spectroscopy (VIS-NIRS) was used to discriminate meat and meat juices from three livestock species. In a first trial, samples of Longissimus lumborum muscle, corresponding to beef (31) llamas (21) and horses (27), were homogenised and their spectra collected in reflectance (NIRSystems 6500 scanning monochromator, in the range of 400-2500 nm). In the second trial, samples of meat juice (same muscle) from the same species (20 beef, 19 llama and 19 horse) were scanned in folded transmission (transflectance). Discriminating models (PLS regression) were developed against “dummy” variables, testing different mathematical treatments of the spectra. Best models indentified the species of almost all samples by their meat (reflectance) or meat juice (transflectance) spectra. A few (three of beef and one of llama, for meat samples; one of beef and one of horse, for juice samples) were classified as uncertain. It is concluded that NIRS is an effective tool to recognise meat and meat juice from beef, llama and horses.  相似文献

There is an increasing concern that the traditional approach of natural kiwifruit pollination by bees may not be sustainable. The alternatives are currently too costly for most growers due to high labor requirements or inefficient usage of expensive pollen. This paper presents a performance evaluation of a novel kiwifruit pollinating robot designed to provide a more efficient, reliable, and cost‐effective means of producing kiwifruit. The robot comprises a novel air‐assisted sprayer, a machine vision system employing convolution neural networks, and a flower targeting system for efficient and effective application of pollen to individual flowers. We show that this pollination system is capable of individually targeting and pollinating 79.5% of flowers at 3.5 km/hr while using comparable amounts of pollen to commercial Cambrian operators. Furthermore, flowers that were successfully pollinated at 1 km/hr grew into the first robotically pollinated kiwifruit which were comparable in quality to commercially grown kiwifruit. However, the overall fruit set was found to be well below commercial requirements and further work on increasing the overall yield is required.  相似文献

The objective of this work was to assess the potential of near infrared spectroscopy to predict the immunoglobulin G (IgG) content in bovine colostrum. Liquid colostrum samples (n=157) were collected from Holstein cows from 2 dairy farms in southern Chile. Samples were obtained within 1h of parturition and scanned in folded transmission (transflectance) in the visible-near infrared range. Multivariate regression models (modified partial least squares) were developed with spectral data against IgG content measured by radial immunodiffusion. The best calibration included a mathematical treatment of the spectra by a second derivative plus standard normal variate and detrending. The best equation explained a high proportion of the variation in IgG content (R(2) of 0.95 in calibration and 0.94 in cross-validation). Average (91.5 g/L), standard deviation (37.6g/L), and range, as highest minus lowest values (171.9 g/L) of reference values were 10.1, 4.2, and 19 times the value of the root mean square error of cross-validation (9.03 g/L) respectively. Near-infrared spectroscopy, scanned in folded transmission, is an effective tool to predict the IgG content in liquid colostrum.  相似文献

The effect of four strains of Lactococcus garvieae, three strains of Lactococcus lactis and one strain of Enterococcus faecalis on Staphylococcus aureus SA15 growth in microfiltered milk was evaluated. Lactococcus and Enterococcus strains were co-cultured with S. aureus in microfiltered milk and in medium buffered at pH 6.8. All Lactococcus and Enterococcus strains were able to inhibit S. aureus growth after 6h of incubation. Inhibition by L. lactis and E. faecalis strains could be partially attributed to the decrease in pH below 6.0 as it has been observed in medium buffered at pH 6.8. L. garvieae strains were the most effective to inhibit S. aureus growth without acidification. Inhibition of S. aureus could not be attributed neither to production of lactate, acetate or nor to antistaphylococcal substance. Amino acids competition was not involved in the inhibition by L. garvieae as addition of valine, isoleucine, threonine, methionine and phenylalanine did not suppress the inhibition of S. aureus.  相似文献

This article displays a numerical investigation on natural convection within non-Darcy porous layer surrounded by two horizontal surfaces having sinusoidal temperature profiles with difference in phase and wave number. The Darcy–Brinkman–Forchheimer model and local thermal nonequilibrium condition have been employed. Simulations have been performed for wide ranges of inertia coefficient (10–4Fs/Pr* ≤ 10–2), thermal conductivity ratio (0.1 ≤ K r ≤ 100), phase difference (0 ≤ β ≤ π), modified Rayleigh number (200 ≤ Ra* ≤ 1000), wavelength (3 ≤ k ≤ 12), and nondimensional heat transfer coefficient (0.1 ≤ H ≤ 100). Results demonstrate that Nusselt number highly relies on Fs/Pr*, K r, β, Ra*, and k as compared to H. A considerable enhancement in fluid, solid, and overall Nusselt numbers has been observed with diminishing Fs/Pr* and β and increasing k, K r, and H. The raising in β has a significant impact on Nu for smaller k and this effect is almost ignored when k > 12. The increase in Ra*, K r, β, and H and decrease in Fs/Pr* and k acts to reduce the severity of nonequilibrium zone and increase the size of thermal equilibrium zone. The influence of H on nonequilibrium area is more evident than K r.  相似文献

We report an 82-year-old man who presented with bullous pemphigoid and who later developed an acute glomerulonephritis with the histopathological and immunofluorescence pattern of a postinfectious glomerulonephritis. Antibodies directed against 230 and 180 kDa bullous pemphigoid antigens were detected in the patient's serum by means of the immunoprecipitation technique. Staphylococcus aureus and methicillin-resistant S. aureus were isolated from the patient's skin. We consider that in this particular patient the cutaneous infection played a part in the development of the kidney complication.  相似文献
