This paper aims the adsorption of boron from aqueous solution onto Siral 30 and Pural using 23 full factorial design. The effect of individual variables and their interactional effects for boron adsorption were also determined. From the statistical analysis, it is inferred that as pH and temperature increased boron adsorption from aqueous solution decreased. Siral 30 was found to be more efficient adsorbent than Pural. The unimportant factor affecting boron adsorption from aqueous solution was also verified by using Fisher adequacy test. At the 90% confidence level, the type of adsorbent, temperature and type of adsorbent–temperature interaction was effective on boron adsorption from aqueous solution. The experimental results were fitted to the Langmuir, Freundlich and Dubinin–Radushkevich (DR) equations to find out adsorption capacities. In most cases, the results indicate that Freundlich and DR equations are well described with the sorption data. The adsorption capacity values of Siral 30 calculated from Freundlich and DR equation was greater than that of Pural. The thermodynamic parameters were also estimated and the adsorption process was not spontaneous nature.  相似文献

The sorption of boron from aqueous solution onto Caulerpa racemosa var. cylindracea (CRC), collected from Seferihisar/Izmir region in Turkey, was investigated as a function of pH, temperature, initial boron concentration, adsorbent dosage, contact time and ionic strength. Optimum conditions for the sorption of boron were obtained at pH 7.5, 318 K, 8 mg L−1 initial boron concentration, 0.2 g of CRC, 2.5 h contact time and greater ionic strength (10−1 M NaCl). As the temperature was increased the boron removal took place with higher percentages. In experiments conducted at optimum conditions, maximum boron sorption was determined to be about 63%. The experimental data were analyzed by Freundlich, Langmuir and Dubinin–Radusckevich (DR) equations. Freundlich and DR models provide best conformity with the experimental data. In order to describe kinetics of boron sorption onto CRC, first-order Lagergren equation, pseudo-second-order kinetic model and intraparticle diffusion model were used. It was seen that the first order Lagergren equation was better described than the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. Thermodynamic parameters of sorption process were also calculated. It was obtained that sorption process was not spontaneous. The characterization of CRC was carried out by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis.  相似文献

Poly(ethyleneglycol) (PEG)/tartaric acid (TA)‐crosslinked chitosan hydrogel (CPT) films were prepared, and the formation of the PEG/TA‐crosslinked structure was confirmed by Fourier transformed infrared (FTIR), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and scanning electron microscope (SEM) measurements. The thermal properties of the crosslinked films were also determined with thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) analysis. The swelling properties of the films were investigated at different temperature and pH values. It was found that the swelling ratio increased with the decrease of pH value of the surrounding buffer solutions, amount of PEG, and with the increase of temperature. Swelling behavior of the PEG/TA‐crosslinked chitosan hydrogel films depended on pH and reversible with the temperature. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2011  相似文献

In this paper, we study coordination mechanisms through penalty schemes between manufacturing and marketing departments which enable organizations to match demand forecasts with production quantities. This research was motivated by our interactions with a leading electronics and computer manufacturer. We consider two possible organizational structures - centralized and decentralized. In the decentralized case we model a single period problem where demand is uncertain and the marketing department provides a forecast to manufacturing which in turn produces a quantity based on the forecast and the demand distribution. In the centralized case, marketing and manufacturing jointly decide on the production quantity. Among other results we show that by setting suitable penalties one can generate the same result in a decentralized system as that obtained from a centralized system. We also show that setting the correct penalty for marketing is essential for coordination. Subsequently, we analyze models where the marketing department has the ability to change the distribution of demand based on efforts (through promotion, advertising and personal relationship with customers). An interesting result indicates that ii. is possible to set penalties so that a coordinated decentralized system outperforms a centralized system when there are no tangible costs to the firm for the efforts expended by the marketing department.  相似文献

Chitosan and poly(vinyl alcohol)-based hydrogel films were synthesized using tartaric acid as a crosslinking agent. The films denoted as CVT were then characterized using Fourier transform infrared, Nuclear magnetic resonance, X-ray diffraction, and scanning electron microscopy analysis. TG/DTG and DSC analysis were also carried out for the determination of thermal properties of hydrogel films. Swelling properties of these hydrogel films were investigated at two different pHs and temperatures. The swelling behaviors of all samples were increased in acidic medium, while decreased in alkaline medium. The enzymatic degradation of the hydrogels was studied using lysozyme, and degradation rates were found to be parallel with the swelling ratio for CVT hydrogel. The hydrogels were also used for the amoxicillin release in KCl/HCl and PBS buffer solutions. The release behaviors of CVT hydrogel films were slower and can be controlled as compared with commercial drug release systems. CVT hydrogel films may be more appropriate for controlled release of amoxicillin.  相似文献
