In this paper, a novel direct sequence/spread spectrum (DS/SS) communication system is proposed. This scheme exploits the two-dimensional complex valued chaotic Ikeda map as the spreading sequences. With this double spreading DS/SS system, the effect of multiple access interference can be mitigated by choosing the spreading sequences with appropriate cross-correlation properties. The performance of the system is assessed and demonstrated in a multiuser environment by means of computer simulation with additive white Gaussian noise, Rayleigh fading, and selective fading channel conditions. These studies reveal that the proposed system significantly outperforms the Gold code DS/SS-BPSK system in synchronous channel conditions. In asynchronous case, the improvement is substantial for low signal-to-noise ratios.  相似文献

Historical land-cover changes in three delta regions in Southeast Asia are assessed by using selected Landsat images from 1990 to 2005. Potential inundation areas of the delta regions for different return periods are estimated by using digital elevation model data and extreme-value distribution of annual maximum river discharges. The results indicate significant changes of natural land cover within the potential inundation areas due to agricultural exploitation and industrialization. Implications for flood-mitigation policies are discussed. There is a clear need for sustainable land-use management strategies in all three areas.  相似文献

Although a number of image classification approaches are available to estimate forest canopy density (FCD) using satellite data, assessment of their relative performances with tropical mixed deciduous vegetation is lacking. This study compared three image classification approaches – maximum likelihood classification (MLC), multiple linear regression (MLR) and FCD Mapper – in estimating the FCD of mixed deciduous forest in Myanmar. The application of MLC and MLR was based on spectral reflectance of vegetation, whereas FCD Mapper was operated on integrating the biophysical indices derived from the reflectance of the vegetation. The FCD was classified into four categories: closed canopy forest (CCF; FCD ≥ 70%), medium canopy forest (MCF; 40% ≥ FCD < 70%), open canopy forest (OCF; 10% ≥ FCD < 40%) and non-forest (NF; FCD < 10%). In the three classification approaches, producer's and user's accuracies were higher for more homogeneous vegetation such as NF and CCF than for heterogeneous vegetation density (VD) such as OCF and MCF. FCD Mapper produced the best overall accuracy and kappa coefficient. This study revealed that only spectral reflectance is not enough to get good results in estimating FCD in tropical mixed deciduous vegetation. This study indicates that FCD Mapper, an inexpensive approach because it requires only validation data and thus saves time, can be applied to monitor tropical mixed deciduous vegetation over time at lower cost than alternative methods.  相似文献

The high-temperature creep fracture behaviour and creep strength of SUS 304H containing a minor addition of V were investigated in this study. A series of small punch (SP) creep and uniaxial creep tests were performed at 700 °C. The load and punch displacement rates obtained from the SP creep tests were used to derive conversion equations to determine the equivalent stress and creep strain rates. A converting equation is suggested in this study so that Norton’s secondary power law creep constants obtained from the SP creep testing can be in agreement with those obtained from the uniaxial tensile creep tests. The creep strength of the modified SUS 304H steel containing V was shown to be superior to that without V based on the current results and other available results for type 304H steel.  相似文献

A multiplex polymerase chain reaction (M-PCR) assay for Haemophilus ducreyi, Treponema pallidum, and herpes simplex virus (HSV) was compared with clinical and standard laboratory methods for the diagnosis of genital ulcer disease (GUD) in 105 patients; 36% were human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-seropositive. Chancroid (80%), syphilis (8%), and genital herpes (8%) were the most frequent diagnoses. H. ducreyi and HSV were isolated from ulcers of 43% and 18% of patients, respectively; in 35%, all cultures were negative and the laboratory diagnosis indeterminate. M-PCR detected H. ducreyi, T. pallidum, and HSV in 56%, 23%, and 26% of patients, respectively; (no definitive diagnosis, 6%). The proportion of patients with more than one agent was 4% by culture and 17% by M-PCR (P = .002). Resolved sensitivities of M-PCR for H. ducreyi and HSV cultures were 95% and 93%, respectively. The sensitivities of H. ducreyi and HSV cultures were 75% and 60%, respectively. HSV, detected in 47% of specimens from HIV-infected versus 16% from HIV-uninfected patients (P < .001), may be emerging as a more frequent cause of GUD.  相似文献

The dynamic mechanical properties of paper during restrained drying are reported in this article. The apparatus used was a servohydraulic material testing system (MTS), connected to a computer unit. It has been found that the ratio of drying stress to elastic modulus at a given dry solids content corresponds to the instantaneous linear contraction of the sheet when the drying stress is relieved. It is therefore deduced that paper behaves as a linear viscoelastic body during restrained drying. The finding of a maximum loss coefficient and the drastic change in elastic modulus during drying of paper are interpreted in terms of a transitional change in the amorphous regions of wood polymers plasticized by water.  相似文献

Boron removal is a critical issue in the production of drinking water and of ultra-pure water in the electronics industry. Boron rejection in a RO process is typically in the range of 40-60%. The objective of this study was to distinguish the factor contributing to enhanced boron rejection in reclamation of a spent rinse stream from a plating operation. The effects of different known components used in the feed on boron removal were investigated in the laboratory. The results indicated that glycolic acid and antifoulants could not individually enhance boron rejection in a RO process. A high boron rejection of 95% was achieved as the concentration of iron in the feed was 10 times higher than that of boron, which might be due to formation of a complex between iron oxide and boron. The finding was confirmed in a pilot study.  相似文献

Commercial austenitic stainless steel SUS304H with small amount of vanadium addition was used in this study. Small punch (SP) creep and uniaxial tensile creep tests were conducted at 650, 700, and 750 °C to measure creep lives and the minimum displacement rates or the minimum creep strain rates. The measured parameters were compared between the two test methods, seeking empirical relationships among the parameters using Larson-Miller Parameter and Monkman-Grant relation. Magnitude of the applied stress (MPa) in the uniaxial tensile creep test was approximately equal to the applied load value (N) in the SP creep test at all test temperatures. It was shown that during the creep deformation of the SP creep specimen, crack initiation and accompanying crack growth occur simultaneously. Competing failure mechanisms of creep deformation and crack growth may affect the SP creep life and consequently determine the proportionality function, α, in the relation between the SP load and the tensile creep rupture stress in creep tests.  相似文献

A new technique for the experimental characterization of electromagnetic chaff based on Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar is presented. This technique allows for the characterization of as few as one filament of chaff in a controlled anechoic environment allowing for stability and repeatability of experimental results. This approach allows for a deeper understanding of the fundamental phenomena of electromagnetic scattering from chaff through an incremental analysis approach. Chaff analysis can now begin with a single element and progress through the build-up of particles into pseudo-cloud structures. This controlled incremental approach is supported by an identical incremental modeling and validation process. Additionally, this technique has the potential to produce considerable savings in financial and schedule cost and provides a stable and repeatable experiment to aid model valuation.  相似文献
