A series of noncyclic acetal-linked cleavable surfactants were simply prepared by condensation of aldehydes with poly(ethylene glycol) monomethyl ethers. All of the products were characterized by1H nuclear magnetic resonance. Their hydrophile-lipophile balance, surface tension, cloud point, critical micelle concentration, and foam height were determined. Hydrolysis kinetic studies, followed by gas chromatography, showed that they had higher hydrolytic reactivity in acidic solution than cyclic acetal-linked cleavable surfactants.  相似文献

This article presents a method for rectifying and stabilising video from cell-phones with rolling shutter (RS) cameras. Due to size constraints, cell-phone cameras have constant, or near constant focal length, making them an ideal application for calibrated projective geometry. In contrast to previous RS rectification attempts that model distortions in the image plane, we model the 3D rotation of the camera. We parameterise the camera rotation as a continuous curve, with knots distributed across a short frame interval. Curve parameters are found using non-linear least squares over inter-frame correspondences from a KLT tracker. By smoothing a sequence of reference rotations from the estimated curve, we can at a small extra cost, obtain a high-quality image stabilisation. Using synthetic RS sequences with associated ground-truth, we demonstrate that our rectification improves over two other methods. We also compare our video stabilisation with the methods in iMovie and Deshaker.  相似文献

Amyloses from selected corn starches were used to measure the glucoses involved in the branching points. The number of glucose α 1,6 glycosidically linked were determined by two different methods: 1) The enzymatic one measures directly quantiatively and specifically the glucoses α, 1,6 linked. 2) The other, a chemical one that measures the different n-methylated glucoses involved in the terminal, α 1,4 linked and α1,6 linked positions. The results obtained through both methodologies clearly indicate a good correlation. Amylose is not linear. It has very small proportion of branches and they are α1,6 glycosidically linked.  相似文献

We present a model for quantitative measurements in binary mixtures of nitrogen and carbon monoxide by the use of dual-broadband rotational coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy. The model has been compared with experimental rotational coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering spectra recorded within the temperature range of 294-702 K. Temperatures and concentrations were evaluated by spectral fits using libraries of theoretically calculated spectra. The relative error of the temperature measurements was 1-2%, and the absolute error of the CO concentration measurements was <0.5% for temperatures < or =600 K. For higher temperatures, the gas composition was not chemically stable, and we observed a conversion of CO to CO2. The influence of important spectroscopic parameters such as the anisotropic polarizability and Raman line-broadening coefficients are discussed in terms of concentration measurements. In particular, it is shown that the CO concentration measurement was more accurate if N2-CO and CO-N2 line-broadening coefficients were included in the calculation. The applicability of the model for quantitative flame measurements is demonstrated by measuring CO concentrations in ethylene/air flames.  相似文献

Cleavable surfactants are of interest for several reasons. Above all, the development of surfactants with weak bonds deliberately built into the structure is driven by the need for improved biodegradability of amphiphiles. The breakdown may be catalyzed by enzymes, and biodegradation would be the normal mechanism in sewage plants. Alternatively, the surfactant may degrade by chemical means, e.g., induced by acid, alkali, ultraviolet (UV) light, heat, or ozone. Acid- and alkali-labile surfactants have attracted particular attention, and there is often a compromise between required stability at one stage and ease of breakdown at a subsequent stage. The paper reviews the main routes used to prepare cleavable surfactants and points out advantages and disadvantages of the different approaches. Emphasis is placed on the development during recent years. Cyclic and acyclic acetals, ketals, and ortho esters are the most important types of bonds for the preparation of acid-labile surfactants, whereas alkali-labile amphiphiles usually are based on ester bonds. The ester bond approach has been particularly important for cationic surfactants, and so-called ester quats have rapidly taken a large share of the traditional market for quats. Betaine esters constitute a special class of ester with very pronounced pH dependence. UV-labile surfactants based, for instance, on an azo bond, offer promise for the future.  相似文献

Experiments were performed in the temperature range of 294-1143 K in pure CO(2) using high-resolution rotational coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (CARS), in the dual-broadband approach. Experimental single-shot spectra were recorded with high spectral resolution using a single-mode Nd:YAG laser and a relay imaging lens system on the exit of a 1 m spectrometer. A theoretical rotational CARS model for CO(2) was developed for evaluation of the experimental spectra. The evaluated mean temperatures of the recorded single-shot dual-broadband rotational coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (DB-RCARS) spectra using this model showed good agreement with thermocouple temperatures, and the relative standard deviation of evaluated single-shot temperatures was generally 2-3%. Simultaneous thermometry and relative CO(2)/N(2)-concentration measurements were demonstrated in the product gas of premixed laminar CO/air flames at atmospheric pressure. Although the model proved to be accurate for thermometry up to 1143 K, limitations were observed at flame temperatures where temperatures were overestimated and relative CO(2)/N(2) concentrations were underestimated. Potential sources for these discrepancies are discussed.  相似文献

Acid mine drainage (known as AMD) is a well-known environmental problem resulting from the oxidation of sulfidic mine waste. In cold regions, AMD is often considered limited by low temperatures most of the year and observed environmental impact is related to pollution generated during the warm summer period. Here we show that heat generation within an oxidizing, sulfidic, coal-mining waste-rock pile in Svalbard (78 degrees N) is high enough to keep the pile warm (roughly 5 degrees C throughout the year) despite mean annual air temperatures below -5 degrees C. Consequently, weathering processes continue year-round within the waste-rock pile. During the winter, weathering products accumulate within the pile because of a frozen outer layer on the pile and are released as a flush within 2 weeks of soil thawing in the spring. Consequently, spring runoff water contains elevated concentrations of metals. Several of these metals are taken up and accumulated in plants where they reach phytotoxic levels, including aluminum and manganese. Laboratory experiments document that uptake of Al and Mn in native plant species is highly correlated with dissolved concentrations. Therefore, future remedial actions to control the adverse environmental impacts of cold region coal-mining need to pay more attention to winter processes including AMD generation and accumulation of weathering products.  相似文献

To reduce errors in projects, knowledge about their causes, through examining their chain of events, and costs should be made available. With this in mind, this paper examines the role of the error recovery process in detecting human-related errors with reference to seven Swedish building construction projects. A total of 2,879 human errors were identified, and those that were found to be the most costly were examined in detail. Industry practitioners’ opinions as to how the identified errors could have been prevented were solicited. It was revealed that the major areas of error reduction lay with improving communication between participants, introducing incentives, improving resourcing levels in projects particularly during design, and the encouragement of individual and organizational learning. The paper concludes by suggesting that the most effective learning takes place in projects when the entire error-recovery process is performed (i.e., detection, indication, and correction) and not parts thereof.  相似文献

The European Road E12 through the community center of Storuman, Sweden was reconstructed in 1999 and 2000. Pedestrian walkways, traffic islands, chicanes of a type referred to as "Danish buns", a roundabout and a two-directional cycle track along the E12 were installed. The purpose of the reconstruction was to improve safety for pedestrians and bicyclists, primarily for children, the elderly and the disabled, and to reduce the barrier effect of the E12 thoroughfare. In May 2000, the code governing the conduct of drivers at marked crosswalks in Sweden became stricter to improve safety and mobility for pedestrians. The combined effect of reconstructions and change of code was analyzed. Traffic behavior was studied at the intersection where the roundabout was constructed. Yield behavior towards pedestrians changed significantly. The difference was even greater with respect to yielding to child bicyclists - from 6% before to 84% after - even though the code change only related to pedestrians. Crash data analysis suggests a minor increase in fall injuries after reconstructions and change of code. Measures of speed, behavioral studies, questionnaires, face-to-face interviews and crash data analysis suggest that safety has increased not only along the E12 but also along adjacent roads. The final conclusion is that a bypass is not needed in a case like Storuman. Traffic calming of the main arterial through the town seems sufficient.  相似文献
