The beam-slab layout design task is an ill-defined problem. As a result, it is difficult to delegate this task to computers. This study proposes a new genetic algorithm to be used to perform this design task. First, a new coding scheme for beam-slab layouts is developed. After that, the beam-slab layout design problem is written as an optimization problem by establishing proper objective and constraint functions. To show the validity of the proposed algorithm, it is used to design beam-slab layouts of several floor plans. The obtained results show that the proposed technique is able to find good beam-slab layouts.  相似文献

In this study, the effective elastic constants of several 2D and 3D frame-like periodic cellular solids with different unit-cell topologies are analytically derived using the homogenization method based on equivalent strain energy. The analytical expressions of strain energy of a unit cell under different strain modes are determined using a generic symbolic object-oriented finite element (FE) program written in MATLAB. The obtained analytical expressions of the strain energy are then used to symbolically compute the effective elastic constants that include Young’s moduli, Poisson’s ratios, and shear moduli. The obtained analytical effective elastic constants are numerically verified using results from an ordinary numerical FE program. The obtained closed-form effective elastic constants are also compared with some existing solutions from the literature. This study demonstrates that symbolic computation platforms can be properly used to provide efficient methodologies for finding useful analytical solutions of mechanical problems. Without the symbolic object-oriented FE program in this study, elaborate and tedious analytical analysis has to be manually performed for each different unit cell. The symbolic object-oriented FE program provides analytical analysis of unit cells that is accurate and fast. The object-oriented programming technique allows the symbolic FE program in this study to be efficiently implemented.  相似文献

Aluminum hydroxide‐poly[acrylamide‐co‐(acrylic acid)], AHAMAA, was synthesized with a redox initiator by solution polymerization in which the effects of reactant contents were optimized. The effects of pH, temperature, and initial dye concentration on Congo red reduction were investigated. A mixture of Congo red and direct blue 71, and the composite textile dye wastewater were investigated. Adsorptions of both dyes were more effective in the nonbuffered solution than those in the buffered solution, and Congo red adsorbed more than direct blue 71 at all pHs. The adsorption of Congo red increased with increasing temperature and its initial concentration. Both dyes obeyed the Freundlich adsorption isotherm. The maximum adsorptions in 100 mg dm?3 solution were 109 ± 0.5 mg g?1 and 62 ± 6.6 mg g?1 for Congo red and direct blue 71, respectively. At 150 mg dm?3 of the mixed Congo red and direct blue 71, the adsorption was 142 ± 2 mg g?1 by 643 ± 3 mg dm?3 AHAMAA. The 40 mg g?1 dyes of the textile effluent wastewater were adsorbed by 500 mg dm?3 AHAMAA. AHAMAA could decrease turbidity of the composite wastewater containing a mixture of reactive and direct dyes from 405 to 23 NTU. POLYM. ENG. It is known that Curie temperature of barium titanate system can be altered by the substitution of dopants into either A- or B-site. Dopants could pinch transition temperature, lower Curie temperature, and raise the rhombohedral–orthorhombic and orthorhombic–tetragonal phase transition close to room temperature. This isovalent substitution could improve the ferroelectric properties of the BaTiO3-based system. In this study, barium zirconate titanate Ba(ZrxTi1−x)O3 (BZT; x = 0, 0.02, 0.05 and 0.08) ceramics were prepared by conventionally mixed-oxide method. The ferroelectric properties of BZT ceramics were investigated. Increasing Zr content in the BaTiO3-based compositions caused a decrease in Curie temperature (Tc). At Tc, the highest relative permittivity of BZT with an addition of 0.08 mol% of Zr was 12,780. The BZT specimens with the additions of 0.05 mol% and 0.08 mol% of Zr presented the remanent polarization at 25 μC/cm2 and 30 μC/cm2, respectively.  相似文献

Polymeric flocculants of aluminum hydroxide‐poly[acrylamide‐co‐(acrylic acid)], AHAMAA, were prepared by solution polymerization using aluminum hydroxide as a coagulant in the presence of acrylamide (AM) and acrylic acid (AA) as a comonomer pair with N,N′‐methylenebisacrylamide as a crosslinking agent. The crosslinking was initiated by ammonium persulfate with N,N,N′,N′‐tetramethylethylenediamine as an initiator. The water absorbency of crosslinked poly[AM‐co‐AA] was always higher than that of AHAMAA and was found to be correlated to the storage modulus of the polymers, which was higher for AHAMAA than that of crosslinked poly[AM‐co‐AA]. The residual aluminum concentration of AHAMAA (0.09–0.2 mg L?1) indicated the stability of the polymer flocculant which was in good agreement with the observed tan δ and the higher G′′ and G′ values. Both the crosslinked poly[AM‐co‐AA] and AHAMAA satisfactorily reduced the turbidity of kaolin suspensions, but the latter gave a better reduction performance. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The current design provision on the estimation of the load carrying capacity of steel-fiber-reinforced concrete (SFRC) tunnel lining is briefly introduced. The design method is based on the concept of fracture mechanics of concrete. Existence of a crack and transmitted stress by fibers are considered in the estimation of the maximum resultant forces of the critical cross section. In this study, the validity of the current design method is verified, and the possible improvements of the design method are proposed. It is shown that the crack length at the maximum load depends on the specimen size and the fiber property. The source of the size effect which appears between a small specimen for the material test and the actual lining is the dependence of the crack lenght at the peak on the specimen size. The dependence of the critical crack length on the fiber property is not considered in the current design. It should be taken into account for the quality control of the fibers. Methods to determine the tensile strength carried by fibers and to estimate sectional capacities with various thickness of the lining and different kinds and volume fractions of fibers are proposed.  相似文献

Intraperitoneal administration of the mycotoxin penitrem A 30 min before a training session in passive avoidance task, impaired performance of rats subjected to a test-session 24 h after. This effect was not antagonised by pretraining administration of physostigmine or bicuculline. Administration of penitrem A 20 min before a training session or 30 min before a test-session did not impair performance. In the Morris water maze, doses of penitrem A that induces slight to moderate tremors, but not a lower dose, disrupted place learning. These results suggest that penitrem A disrupts the processes that take place at the time of acquisition, but not those just after acquisition, and does not alter the restitution of information. This effect would not be related to a decrease of cholinergic neurotransmission nor to a stimulation of GABA A receptors. Nevertheless, it could not be totally excluded that the performance impairments induced by penitrem A would be secondary to a motor disruption.  相似文献

In this study, a new ground-structure-based representation for truss topology optimization is proposed. The proposed representation employs an algorithm that removes unwanted elements from trusses to obtain the final trusses. These unwanted elements include kinematically unstable elements and useless zero-force elements. Since the element-removal algorithm is used in the translation of representation codes into corresponding trusses, this results in more representation codes in the search space that are mapped into kinematically stable and efficient trusses. Since more representation codes in the search space represent stable and efficient trusses, the strategy increases meaningful competition among representation codes. This remapping strategy alleviates the problem of having large search spaces using ground structures, and encourages faster convergences. To test the effectiveness of the proposed representation, it is used with a simple multi-population particle swarm optimization algorithm to solve several truss topology optimization problems. It is found that the proposed representation can significantly improve the performance of the optimization process.  相似文献

Two new naphthoquinones, rhinacanthin-C (1) and rhinacanthin-D (2), exhibit inhibitory activity against cytomegalovirus (CMV), with EC50 values of 0.02 and 0.22 microgram/mL, respectively, against human CMV. They were isolated from the medicinal plant Rhinacanthus nasutus (Acanthaceae). The structures of the compounds were determined by analysis of their spectroscopic data, in particular, 2D NMR.  相似文献

Thermal stress imposed on soil is coupled with the expulsion of pore fluid resulting in thermomechanical fluid flow. This paper describes a coupled flow-deformation model subjected to a constant temperature. Two-dimensional numerical modeling was performed based on the finite element method applied to thermoporoelasticity. The model evolves from application of the principles of irreversible thermodynamics. A heating experiment was designed to measure temperature and thermal deformation at predefined locations in a cylindrical clay disk. Results from the experiment are compared with the simulated results to validate the numerical scheme. Sensitivity analysis of the developed code reaffirmed that the coupling effects are most pronounced for high porosity and low permeability medium.  相似文献
