Previous work by Li et al. in the area of axial vibrations of bellows dealt with fixed end conditions. However, it is seen on several occasions that bellow ends are welded to a small pipe spool that has a lumped mass such as a valve or an instrument. Hence, the present paper aims at finding out the effect of elastically restrained ends on the axial natural frequencies. The analysis considers finite stiffness axial restraints on the bellows, i.e. solving the set of equations with non-homogeneous boundary conditions. Two bellow specimens are considered for comparison having the same dimensions as taken by Li in his analysis. The transcendental frequency equation deduced is accurate as the first, second and third mode frequencies computed are in close agreement to the ones obtained by Li. 相似文献

An advanced, high-performance, quadruple well, quadruple polysilicon BiCMOS technology has been developed for fast 16 Mb SRAM's. A split word-line bitcell architecture, using four levels of polysilicon and two self-aligned contacts, achieves a cell area of 8.61 μm2 with conventional I-line lithography and 7.32 μm2 with I-line plus phase-shift or with deep UV lithography. The process features PELOX isolation to provide a 1.0 μm active pitch, MOSFET transistors designed for a 0.80 μm gate poly pitch, a double polysilicon bipolar transistor with aggressively scaled parasitics, and a thin-film polysilicon transistor to enhance bitcell stability. Cobalt ferrite (CoxFe3?xO4) is prepared in powder form by thermal decomposition of iron and cobalt salts and is analysed by X-ray diffraction and Mössbauer spectroscopic techniques. The variation of Mössbauer parameters, lattice parameters and crystallite size of the products formed with variation in the composition of Fe and Co ratios are studied. The studies confirm the formation of nano-size cobalt ferrite particles with defect structure and it is found to be maximum for the Fe : Co = 60 : 40 ratio of the initial precursor oxides. 相似文献

Members of the Smad protein family function as signal transducers of the transforming growth factor (TGF-beta) superfamily proteins. The human Smad5 protein, a signal transducer downstream of TGF-beta/BMP receptors, is composed of N-terminal DNA binding domain (MH1) and C-terminal protein-protein interaction domain (MH2) connected together by a linker motif. We used homology-modeling techniques to generate a reliable molecular model of the Smad5 MH1 domain based on the crystal structure of Smad3 MH1 domain. Our study presents the structural features of a BMP-regulated, R-Smad subfamily member (consisting of Smad1, Smad5 and Smad8) for the first time. This model provides a structural basis for explaining both functional similarities and differences between Smad3 and Smad5. Also, the structural model of this molecular target would be useful for structure-based inhibitor design because of its high accuracy. The results of our study provide important insights into understanding the structure-function relationship of the members of the Smad protein family and can serve to guide future genetic and biochemical experiments in this area. 相似文献

The increasing complexities of modern networks coupled with the popularity of multimedia applications have placed higher demands on network managers. This paper reviews the main requirements and challenges for effective management of multimedia networks, presents a case study of a thin-client-based multimedia system called CSL (Computer-supported Learning System) and proposes a framework for managing such networks. CSL delivers browser-based assessments and other learning materials to thousands of students at the University of Auckland. This type of demand requires more flexible schemes for the management of the network. In the framework proposed, most of the link management information will be kept in a MIB in the network and a very simple MIB will be maintained in the thin client. Thermally stimulated luminescence (TSL) of Na2ZnCl4 single crystals showed three glow peaks having their peak maxima at 343, 425 and 475 K. Optical absorption (OA) data of unirradiated samples revealed an absorption band at 272 nm while X-irradiation caused additional bands at 462 and 723 nm. Growth and room temperature annealing studies of TSL and OA supported the idea of attribution of 425 K glow peak and 462 nm absorption band to F-centres. The 272 nm OA band is due to Zn2+ centres whereas the 723 nm absorption band and 475 K glow peak have been assigned to Zn+ centres. 相似文献

Solidification of molten metals during various casting methods poses many practical problems associated with phase transformation and heat transfer processes. Evaluation of solidification time is one of the very important parameters used for assessing the properties of the material. In the present study, experimental investigation was carried out to measure the solidification time in a cylindrical hollow casting cast in CO2-Sand molds and the same has been compared with the results obtained through computed by using an implicit alternating direction (IAD) method, including the treatment of interfacial nodes between metal and mold, and boundary nodes at the mold surface. Aluminum-4.5% copper alloy has been used. Computed cooling curves at various locations and temperature distributions in core-metal-mold were presented. The results shows that the solidification time obtained by experimental study compares well with the one predicted by the analysis made through IAD modeling. A successful comparison with reported experimental results shows that the technique is appropriate for simulation of solidification process of aluminum castings. 相似文献
