This paper proposes a system to detect and measure blink rate to determine fatigue levels. The method involved analysing specific frames to determine that a blink occurred, and then monitoring the time between successive blinks. The program was simulated in python using a Raspberry Pi Zero and a standard USB camera. For the blink rate detection block, a gate level schematic was implemented in Cadence software using 65 nm CMOS technology. The design was based around an asynchronous 6-bit based edge counter which was designed using D-flip-flops. The simulation calculated the average blink rate and compared this to the most recent blink rate. The outcome would determine if an alarm signal should be sent to the alarm. The system consumed 130 μA from a 1.2 V power supply. 相似文献
The objective of the present paper is to study analytically the performance of four-pocket orifice compensated hydrostatic/hybrid journal bearing system of various geometric shapes of recess operating with micropolar lubricant. The modified Reynolds equation for micropolar lubricant is solved using FEM and the Newton-Raphson method along with appropriate boundary conditions. The results suggest that the influence of micropolar effect of lubricant on bearing performance is predominantly affected by the geometric shape of recess and restrictor design parameter. Therefore, the bearing designer must judiciously choose an appropriate geometric shape of recess in order to get an overall enhanced bearing performance. 相似文献

Selective catalytic Knoevenagel condensation is achieved with catalytic amounts of Ni impregnated on SiO2 or TiO2 supports. In this liquid phase reaction, quantitative yields were obtained under mild reaction conditions. Ni–SiO2, Ni–TiO2 catalysts showed efficiency of 100% conversion and 100% selectivity. With smaller quantities of 10% Ni–SiO2 took less duration for the completion of reaction than TiO2 catalysts in this environmentally benign process. 相似文献
Protein-protein interactions (PPIs) are central to biological processes and represent an important class of therapeutic targets. Here we show that the interaction between FK506-binding protein 12 fused to green fluorescent protein (GFP-FKBP) and the rapamycin-binding domain of mTor fused to Escherichia coli dihydrofolate reductase (FRB-eDHFR) can be sensitively detected (signal-to-background ratio (S/B)>100) and accurately quantified within an impure cell lysate matrix using a luminescence resonance energy transfer (LRET) assay. Ascomycin-mediated inhibition of GFP-FKBP-rapamycin-FRB-eDHFR complex formation was also detected at high S/B ratio (>80) and Z'-factor (0.89). The method leverages the selective, stable binding of trimethoprim (TMP)-terbium complex conjugates to eDHFR, and time-resolved, background-free detection of the long-lifetime (~ms) terbium-to-GFP LRET signal that indicates target binding. TMP-eDHFR labeling can be adapted to develop high-throughput screening assays and complementary, quantitative counter-screens for a wide variety of PPI targets with a broad range of affinities that may not be amenable to purification. 相似文献
Blooms of toxic cyanobacteria such as Microcystis aeruginosa periodically occur within wastewater treatment lagoons in the warmer months, and may consequently cause contamination of downstream water and outages of the supply of recycled wastewater. Lab-scale sonication (20 kHz) was conducted on suspensions of M. aeruginosa isolated from a wastewater treatment lagoon, and two other algal strains, Anabaena circinalis and Chlorella sp., to investigate cell reduction, growth inhibition, release of microcystin and sonication efficiency in controlling the growth of the M. aeruginosa. For M. aeruginosa, for all sonication intensities and exposure times trialled, sonication led to an immediate reduction in the population, the highest reduction rate occurring within the initial 5 min. Sonication for 5 min at 0.32 W/mL, or for a longer exposure time (>10 min) at a lower power intensity (0.043 W/mL), led to an immediate increase in microcystin level in the treated suspensions. However, prolonged exposure (>10 min) to sonication at higher power intensities reduced the microcystin concentration significantly. Under the same sonication conditions, the order of decreasing growth inhibition of the three algal species was: A. circinalis > M. aeruginosa > Chlorella sp., demonstrating sonication has the potential to selectively remove/deactivate harmful cyanobacteria from the algal communities in wastewater treatment lagoons. 相似文献

we analyse the performance ofesprit when the gain and phase characteristics of the sensors in a doublet are not identical. It is shown that the angle estimates
are unbiased and expressions are derived for the variance in the estimates ofdoa, when gain and phase mismatches exist in doublets. Computer simulation results are also presented to assert the theoretical
