A genetic linkage map of human chromosome 21q (HC21q) containing 43 markers genotyped by the polymerase chain reaction in the CEPH pedigrees is presented. The markers placed on this map are highly polymorphic with an average heterozygosity of 61%. The average interval size of the markers localized at 1000:1 odds is 2.5 cM. The map has a total length of 65.5 cM, with male and female lengths of 47.7 and 83.3 cM, respectively. The genotypes used in the construction of this map were subjected to rigorous error checking, which is reflected in the shorter map length compared to previous maps; the estimated error rate in genotyping is less than 0.04%. As noted in previous linkage maps there is increased recombination in females on proximal HC 21q and in the male in a region near the telomere. This map of HC 21 represents a highly informative and dense meiotic linkage map and will be useful in linking disease phenotypes to loci on this chromosome. 相似文献

Gliomas represent a wide spectrum of brain tumors characterized by their high invasiveness, resistance to chemoradiotherapy, and both intratumoral and intertumoral heterogeneity. Recent advances in transomics studies revealed that enormous abnormalities exist in different biological layers of glioma cells, which include genetic/epigenetic alterations, RNA expressions, protein expression/modifications, and metabolic pathways, which provide opportunities for development of novel targeted therapeutic agents for gliomas. Metabolic reprogramming is one of the hallmarks of cancer cells, as well as one of the oldest fields in cancer biology research. Altered cancer cell metabolism not only provides energy and metabolites to support tumor growth, but also mediates the resistance of tumor cells to antitumor therapies. The interactions between cancer metabolism and DNA repair pathways, and the enhancement of radiotherapy sensitivity and assessment of radiation response by modulation of glioma metabolism are discussed herein. 相似文献

The phase behavior of the blends of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) and poly(Resorcinol Phthalate-block-Carbonate) (RPC) and the blends of PET and poly(Bisphenol-A Carbonate) (PC) was investigated by dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Blends of high molecular weight PET and RPC copolymer with 20 mol% resorcinol phthalate (RPC20) showed two glass transition temperatures in DMA and DSC but the cold crystallization rate of PET phase was substantially lowered as compared to neat PET, indicating partial miscibility at all compositions. The RPC20 with Mw = 31,500 g/mol formed miscible blends with PET when PET has weight-average molecular weight <9500 g/mol. The Flory-Huggins interaction parameter between PET and RPC20 was calculated to be 0.029 ± 0.003 by using the Flory-Huggins equation at critical composition and molecular weight. PC with Mw = 30,000 g/mol formed miscible blends with PET only when PET had molecular weight <2800 g/mol, indicating PC/PET blends were much less miscible than RPC20/PET blends. Group contribution methods agreed well with the experimental results obtained both in the present study and a previous study [1], predicting that the addition of a resorcinol phthalate block to a PC backbone should increase the miscibility of PC and PET. 相似文献

In recent decades, bioactive peptides have attracted increasing interest as health promoting functional foods. A variety of naturally formed bioactive peptides have been found in fermented dairy products such as yogurt, sour milk, and cheese. Initially these peptides are inactive within the sequence of the parent protein molecule and can be generated by gastrointestinal digestion of milk, fermentation of milk with proteolytic starter cultures, and/or hydrolysis by proteolytic enzymes. Milk derived peptides exert a number of health beneficial activities, even upon oral administration. Bioactive peptides have a great impact on major body systems including the digestive, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, diabetes type II, obesity, and immune systems. Antimicrobial peptides are also an important ingredient of innate immunity, especially at mucosal surfaces such as lungs and small intestine that are constantly exposed to a range of potential pathogens. Therefore, it plays an important role in boosting natural immune protection by reducing the risk of chronic diseases. Polyethersulfone (PES)-expanded graphite nanocomposites have been prepared by solution blending route after sonicating expanded graphite in dichloromethane. It has been observed that ultrasonication results in nanosheets formation leading to a low percolation threshold of 3 wt.%. At 5 wt.% filler loading the conductivity is of the order of 10−2 S/cm. Hopping type of charge transport occurs at 3.2 wt.% expanded graphite in PES below which capacitive effects couple. The effective dielectric constant at low frequency increases with filler concentration. Impedance measurement has been carried out to evaluate interfacial capacitance which, for 3.2 wt.% expanded graphite addition in PES, increases to 110 pF from 32 pF for 1 wt.% expanded graphite in the polymer. DSC analysis shows an increment of 12 °C in the Tg of PES with 3 wt.% expanded graphite suggesting interaction between the polymer and filler. 相似文献
