The May spinning top aerosol generator was used to generate aerosols from neat Navy jet fuel and selected dispersions of three types of polymer additives in the jet fuel. The additives selected were Oppanol B-200, a Vistanex Series, and a proprietary antimisting additive designated as FM-9. The mass median diameter (MMD) of the droplets produced was studied as a function of additive concentration and spinning top velocity for each additive. In the case of each additive, the MMD significantly increased with concentration at constant RPS. The effect of the Oppanol B-200 was comparable with that of FM-9 with respect to its influence on the MMD. 相似文献

The incidence of stalking and stalking-related harassment experienced by university counseling center staff members was assessed by surveying a random sample of counseling centers in the United States that were accredited by the International Association of Counseling Services. Responses from 178 counseling center staff members showed that 5.6% of the sample had been stalked by a current or former client, 8% had had a family member stalked, and 10% had had a supervisee stalked. The survey also found that 64% of the sample had experienced some type of harassing behavior from a current or former client. Current uses for sensing equipment in agricultural equipment include: contour ground tracking for height control in combines, grain moisture monitors, and crop yield monitors that use GPS data to map field productivity. Observing the Global Positioning System with a satellite in low earth orbit in an occulting geometry provides a powerful means of imaging the ionosphere. Tomographic imaging of the ionosphere from space and ground is examined using singular value decomposition analysis. The resolution and covariance matrices are examined, and simulations are performed that indicate that space data are significantly more effective than ground data in resolving both horizontal and vertical structures, such as the E layer, can be probed with occultation data.©1994 John Wiley & Sons Inc 相似文献

Despite the growing empirical evidence for developmental models of supervision, the need for reliable, valid assessment procedures for identifying a trainee's level of development exists. This study sought to address this need by administering an instrument designed to assess constructs relevant to C. D. Stoltenberg and U. Delworth's (1987) Integrated Development Model (IDM) to counseling and clinical psychology trainees of varying levels of graduate education, counseling, and supervision experience. Primary data provided support for the IDM and suggested construct validity for the Supervisee Levels Questionnaire—Revised because scores on the instrument differed for certain trainee groups who varied in amount of previous training and experience. Properties of layered composites with carbon nanotube (CNT), GnP, Fe3O4 nanoinclusions, and hybrid composites with these nanoinclusions were investigated in the wide frequency range (from 20 Hz to 2 THz). All investigated composites (except with single Fe3O4 inclusions) are above percolation threshold. The strong enhancement of microwave and terahertz radiation absorption is observed in hybrid composites in comparison with composites with single inclusions. The synergy effect is discussed in terms of the complex impedance and the distribution of relaxation times. At low temperatures (below 200 K), the electrical conductivity of all hybrid composites follows the tunneling law model and the lowest potential barrier was estimated for composites with CNT inclusions. Tracking of the radio signals broadcast by the Global Positioning System (GPS) satellites as they are occulted from a GPS receiver by the Earth's atmosphere can provide high resolution vertical profiles of atmospheric refractivity, temperature and water vapour. Most implementations of this radio occultation technique use two GPS frequencies to correct for ionospheric effects. However, during most soundings, one of the frequencies is degraded by the introduction of the so-called Anti-Spoofing (AS) encryption mode. A retrieval method is discussed in this work for periods when only one of the two frequency signals has good quality. This method uses only the frequency with higher signal-to-noise ratio. We illustrate the quality of the atmospheric profiles obtained from such single frequency retrievals using GPS/MET data from the periods where the AS was turned off and the two frequencies were available. The results enable us to ensure the quality of a climate record of thousands of radio occultations collected by GPS/MET during the period with AS encryption, and the data processing of future missions with similar constraints, like IOX, can be performed. 相似文献
