This paper presents a method of predicting the steady‐state performance of a new hybrid‐excitation synchronous machine (HESM) theoretically. The field pole of this HESM is axially divided into two parts; one is an excitation part and the other a permanent‐magnet (PM) part. A nonlinear equivalent circuit, which can include the saliency of the rotor and the magnetic saturation due to the iron core, is derived. Based on this equivalent circuit, the steady‐state performance of the HESM is calculated, and the results are confirmed through experiments. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The purpose of pipe rupture studies in JAERI is to perform model tests on pipe whip, restraint behavior, jet impingement and jet thrust force, and to establish a computational method for analyzing these phenomena. This report presents the analytical results of 4-inch pipe whip tests under BWR LOCA conditions.Dynamic response analyses were performed using the general-purpose finite element program ADINA. The test pipe was modelled by straight beam elements and the four restraints were modelled by a single truss element. The analytical results were compared with the experimental results. Impact time and maximum total restraint force showed good agreement with experimental results. On the other hand, pipe strain and pipe deflection could not be predicted so well. The reason for this is that the sliding of the restraint during the pipe whip movement cannot be considered in the analyses. 相似文献

Provision of Quality‐of‐Service (QoS) guarantees is an important and challenging issue in the design of integrated‐services
packet networks. Call admission control is an integral part of the challenge and is closely related to other aspects of networks
such as service models, scheduling disciplines, traffic characterization and QoS specification. In this paper we provide a
theoretical framework within which call admission control schemes with multiple statistical QoS guarantees can be constructed
for the Generalized Processor Sharing (GPS) scheduling discipline. Using this framework, we present several admission control
schemes for both session‐based and class‐based service models. The theoretical framework is based on recent results in the
statistical analysis of the GPS scheduling discipline and the theory of effective bandwidths. Both optimal schemes and suboptimal
schemes requiring less computational effort are studied under these service models. The QoS metric considered is loss probability.

Abstract— Creep-fatigue crack growth behaviour of a Type 304 stainless steel under four types of reversed loading patterns (P-P, P-C, C-P and C-C) was investigated and the results are discussed in the light of fracture mechanics and fractography. The crack growth rate for all of the four types of loading was successfully correlated in terms of the cyclic integral range λ J. It was unnecessary, for practical purpose, to divide Ay into a fatigue component, λ J f , and a creep component, λ J c , as has been done elsewhere. The transition of the correlating fracture mechanics parameter from fatigue to creep was not necessarily associated with the fracture morphology. This was related to the longer transition hold time in morphology in C-C type loading compared to C-P type loading, and was attributed to recovery of grain boundary sliding during the compression hold in the C-C type loading. 相似文献

Radiation damages due to 8 MeV electron irradiation in electrical properties of CuInSe2 thin films have been investigated. The n-type CuInSe2 films in which the carrier concentration was about 3×1016 cm−3, were epitaxially grown on a GaAs(0 0 1) substrate by RF diode sputtering. No significant change in the electrical properties was observed under the electron fluence <3×1016 e cm−2. As the electron fluence exceeded 1017 e cm−2, both the carrier concentration and Hall mobility slightly decreased. The carrier removal rate was estimated to be about 0.8 cm−1, which is slightly lower than that of III–V compound materials. 相似文献

A high-temperature superconductor YBa2Cu3O7-x with strong pinning force has allowed stable magnetic suspension with no control to be developed. Two types of superconducting magnetic bearings (SMB) using YBCO and permanent magnet were assembled. The two types are radial and axial. The dynamic stiffness of each SMB as it was cooled down under a magnetic field by liquid nitrogen was measured both radially and axially. As a result, it was found that the spring constants of these SMBs were almost as large as a practically desirable value; however, their damping coefficients were lower than the practical level. These findings are useful as one of the data bases for development of an optimum SMB design to support the weight of rotors in an axial direction. 相似文献

A New Process to Make a Porous PTFE Structure from Aqueous PTFE Dispersion with the Help of Hydrogel
A novel method to make a porous material having relatively large cell diameter (200–300 m), which consisted of mainly poly(tetrafluoroethylene) (PTFE), was developed from aqueous PTFE dispersion by using the characteristics of hydrogel with the addition of carbon nanofiber (CNF). The porous material was produced as follows: firstly, an aqueous agar gel containing PTFE and CNF was prepared; secondly, the gel was freeze-dried; thirdly, the dried gel was heat-treated at 400°C where the agar was almost decomposed and PTFE became molten. The porous material showed electric conductivity (about 50 ), high porosity (about 96 vol%), and relatively uniform cell structures without shrinkage during freeze drying and heat treatment. While the method without CNF resulted in large shrinkage during heat treatment, meaning that CNF prevented the shrinkage. It was explained by the idea that the existence of rigid CNF, which was dispersed in the cell wall, prohibited the shrinkage of PTFE during heat treatment. It was unexpectedly found by SEM analysis that the porous materials had another macro-porous structure inside the cell wall, suggesting that the developed materials had a double porous structure. 相似文献

Selective modification by ozonation for the surface of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) was evaluated to separate PVC from the other plastics, polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polycarbonate (PC) and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), with almost the same density as PVC by the froth flotation process. Ozonation could selectively decrease the contact angles of flexible PVC from 87.5 degrees to 68.4 degrees and rigid PVC from 90.3 degrees to 66.9 degrees, whereas little decreases in the contact angle were observed for other plastics. This would be due to the replacement of the chloride group on the surface of PVC, into hydrophilic functional groups; carbonyl, carboxyl and ester group. The PVC was successfully separated from the other plastics by the froth flotation process after the selective surface modification by ozonation. 相似文献

In the electrochemical system with liquid-liquid interface, intense local convections by the resonance with potential pulses take place. Therefore, with laser beam scattering, temporal movement of the water-mercury interface was observed. As a result, the scattering efficiency showed non-linear oscillation.
Such non-linear response could be controlled by potential pulse height. As the potential height was increased, new scattering peaks in the oscillation emerged, which was expected of a kind of bifurcation phenomenon. From these results, phase portrait, Poincarè section, correlation dimension of the strange attractor and the largest Lyapunov exponent of the trajectories were obtained.
