The change in polystyrene (PS) layer thickness, which has been simultaneously determined during post-yield deformation, shows that crazing is the basic mechanism of toughening in all laminated films, and that shear deformation supplements the contribution of crazing especially for samples with high polyethylene (PE) volume fractions. Crazes formed in PS layers in the laminated films are slender and regular compared with the short and lenticular crazes formed in bulk PS film. When PE volume fraction increased, craze advance speed decreased because of the reduction of the stress concentration effect at craze tips. The life-time of the first mature craze to be formed at a given strain rate increased with PE volume fraction because the PE supporting the mature crazes could effectively inhibit craze rupture and blunt out the propagating crack by absorbing the stored elastic energy in the PS layer that would have been dissipated as fracture surface energy.  相似文献

A method for line interference reduction to be used in signal-averaged electrocardiography (SAECG) systems is proposed and its performance is analyzed. This new method is an adaptation of a previously reported technique for removal of line interference from conventional electrocardiograms. It involves the recording of a line reference signal simultaneous with the lead signals, so that a shifted and sealed version of it can be used to subtract line interference from the leads. It is shown that this line interference subtraction method can reduce line interference effectively and without introducing any additional noise into the ECG signal. It is also shown that Late Potential diagnostic decisions are not altered when this filter is applied. It is recommended that this technique be used in SAECG when line interference is unavoidable  相似文献

The use of three-dimensional (3D) microstructures is becoming essential attempt to develop next generations’ microdevices, to integrate many modules and various functions, and enhance the performance of device. In this paper, we present a new concept for lab on a chip using 3D structure and centrifugal pumping for integrated functional fluid systems such as high-throughput screening, and point of care testing systems which has stacked multiple structures with 3D-interconnection. The use of 3D structure brings many benefits for above high throughput systems, such as possibility to integrate various modules enabling to perform total assay operation, from sample preparation for biochemical reaction and their detection on one platform. For this concept, the most important key technology is control of a vertical valving and transportation of liquid between different 2D micro channel networks with different height levels. We demonstrated such vertical liquid transportation in 3D micro channel networks through the high aspect ratio capillary bundle filter by controlling spinning speed of device and centrifugal force as a pumping force, and confirmed capillary bundle could be employed as vertical microvalve for 3D fluidic systems using centrifugal force as a pumping method.  相似文献

A novel photoreactive polymer containing sulfobetaine polar groups was prepared by copolymerization of two kinds of methacrylic acids with sulfobetaine and azidoaniline. The polymer was photoimmobilized on polyester and polystyrene surfaces. Its effects on surface modification were investigated from its interactions with water, proteins and cells. Polymer immobilization altered both of the plain surfaces to becoming hydrophilic in a similar range of static contact angles (12.5 ± 1.6° on polyester and 14.7 ± 2.2° on polystyrene). This suggests that the surfaces were covered with sulfobetaine polar groups. Micropattern immobilization was carried out on both polymers using a photomask. The formed pattern was identical to the photomask, showing that the polymer was formed in response to ultraviolet irradiation. Measurements using atomic force microscopy showed that the polymer was formed at a thickness of 550 nm, demonstrating that the polymer was cross-linked with itself and with the substrate molecules. Measurements using time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry detected an abundance of sulfur-containing ions in the patterned polymer, confirming that sulfobetaine had been immobilized. Protein adsorption and mammalian cell adhesiveness were reduced markedly on the immobilized regions. The reduction of cell adhesiveness was concentration-dependent for the immobilized polymer on polyester surfaces. In conclusion, a novel sulfobetaine-containing polymer was immobilized photoreactively on conventional polymer surfaces and significantly reduced interactions with proteins and mammalian cells.  相似文献

Modified rice straw/Fe3O4/polycaprolactone nanocomposites (ORS/Fe3O4/PCL-NCs) have been prepared for the first time using a solution casting method. The RS/Fe3O4-NCs were modified with octadecylamine (ODA) as an organic modifier. The prepared NCs were characterized by using X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The XRD results showed that as the intensity of the peaks decreased with the increase of ORS/Fe3O4-NCs content in comparison with PCL peaks, the Fe3O4-NPs peaks increased from 1.0 to 60.0 wt. %. The TEM and SEM results showed a good dispersion of ORS/Fe3O4-NCs in the PCL matrix and the spherical shape of the NPs. The TGA analysis indicated thermal stability of ORS/Fe3O4-NCs increased after incorporation with PCL but the thermal stability of ORS/Fe3O4/PCL-NCs decreased with the increase of ORS/Fe3O4-NCs content. Tensile strength was improved with the addition of 5.0 wt. % of ORS/Fe3O4-NCs. The antibacterial activities of the ORS/Fe3O4/PCL-NC films were examined against Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli) and Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus) by diffusion method using nutrient agar. The results indicated that ORS/Fe3O4/PCL-NC films possessed a strong antibacterial activity with the increase in the percentage of ORS/Fe3O4-NCs in the PCL.  相似文献

Asphaltene precipitation and deposition occur in petroleum reservoirs as a change in pressure, temperature and liquid phase composition and reduce the oil recovery considerably. In addition to these, asphaltene precipitates may deposit in the pore spaces of reservoir rock and form plugging, which is referred to as a type of formation damage, i.e. permeability reduction. In all cases above, it is of great importance to know under which conditions the asphaltenes precipitate and to what extent precipitated asphaltenes can be re-dissolved. In other words, to what extent the process of asphaltene precipitation is reversible with respect to change in thermodynamic conditions. In present work, a series of experiments was designed and carried out to quantitatively distinguish the reversibility of asphaltene precipitation upon the change in pressure, temperature and liquid composition. Experiments were conducted in non-porous media. Generally it was observed that the asphaltene precipitation is a partial reversible process for oil under study upon temperature change with hysteresis. However, the precipitation of asphaltene as a function of mixture composition and pressure is nearly reversible with a little hysteresis.  相似文献

The autoimmune-prone MRL-lpr substrain of mice develop an autoimmunity-associated behavioral syndrome (AABS) which resembles in many respects the behavior of animals exposed to chronic stress. The present study examined whether these mice show changes in the morphology of neuronal dendrites, as found in animals exposed to chronic stress. A modified Golgi-Cox procedure was used to visualize the dendrites of pyramidal neurons in the parietal cortex and in the CA1 hippocampal field of 5-week and 14-week old MRL-lpr mice and MRL + / + controls. Reduced dendritic branching and length, and an up to 20% loss of dendritic spines were observed in parietal and hippocampal pyramidal neurons of MRL-lpr mice at both ages. In the parietal cortex, there was an age-dependent potentiation in the reduction of basilar, but not apical, dendrite branching and length, as well as in the loss of spines on basilar segments. Loss of spines in the hippocampus followed an age-related course for apical but not basilar dendrites. Moreover, compared to age-matched controls, brain weight was smaller in MRL-lpr mice at 14 but not 5 weeks of age. Considering that dendritic atrophy becomes more extensive when autoimmune disease is florid in MRL-lpr mice, it is proposed that immune/inflammatory factor(s) produce dendritic loss. Reduced dendritic complexity may represent, at least in part, a structural basis for the altered behavioral profile of MRL-lpr mice.  相似文献

A novel photoreactive polymer with histidine polar groups was synthesized through the copolymerization of two types of methacrylic acid, one carrying histidine groups and the other carrying azidoaniline groups. The polymer was photoimmobilized on polyester disks for surface modification. The effect of the surface modification on the hydrophilic and biofouling properties was investigated. Static contact angle measurements showed that the polymeric surface was modified to be comparatively hydrophilic in the polymer‐immobilized region. Micropattern immobilization was carried out with a photolithographic method. Atomic force microscopy measurements showed that the polymer was formed on the disks in response to ultraviolet irradiation. Protein adsorption was reduced on the polymer‐immobilized regions, and in those regions, spreading and adhesion of mammalian cells were reduced in comparison with that in nonimmobilized regions. In conclusion, a novel histidine‐containing polymer was photoreactively immobilized on a conventional polymer surface, and it had reduced interaction with proteins and cells. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 0.24Pb(In1/2Nb1/2)O3-0.42Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-0.34PbTiO3 transparent ceramics were fabricated by a conventional sintering technique. Through optimization of sintering conditions of calcination and sintering temperatures and time, the obtained ceramics showed high optical transmittance of 53% and 71% at light wavelengths of 1300 and 2000 nm, respectively. The ceramics showed a rhombohedral to tetragonal phase transition at ~120°C and a tetragonal to cubic phase transition at 222°C. These transition temperatures were higher than those of 0.67Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)-0.33PbTiO3 ceramics. In addition, the ceramics had a ferroelectric hysteresis loop, a large piezoelectric constant d33 of 407 pC/N, and a planar electromechanical coupling factor kp of 52%. These results suggest that the transparent ceramics may be used as a temperature-stable, linear electro-optic material.  相似文献

Importance: To reduce the frequency of dorzolamide eye drop administration and increasing the duration of action.

Background: This study aims to compare the effect of dorzolamide loaded-nanoliposome with marketed dorzolamide HCl eye drop on intraocular pressure in primary open angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension patients.

Design: A randomized study was conducted in a hospital.

Participants: Twenty patients with primary open angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension (in both eyes) diagnosis were recruited as participants.

Methods: Dorzolamide loaded-nanoliposome was prepared by thin layer hydration method and characterized. Intra ocular pressure were compared between the two groups who received marketed dorzolamide solution or dorzolamide-loaded nanoliposome.

Main outcome measures: The main outcome measures include intraocular pressure initially (day 0) and on days 14 and 28 and adverse effect of dorzolamide-loaded nanoliposome eye drop.

Results: Based on the results of repeated measure, intra ocular pressure was seen to decrease in both the groups. But these reductions in the intervention group (dorzolamide-loaded eye drop) were significantly higher than those in control group (p?Conclusion: This study confirmed safety and long-lasting efficacy of dorzolamide loaded-nanoliposome eye drop. The highly enhanced permeation through the cornea can be attributed to similarity of phospholipid bilayer of liposomes to the biological membrane and their small particle size and positive zeta potential.  相似文献
