In this study, grape pomace (GP), a by-product consisting of grape skins and seeds rich in dietary fibres and polyphenols, was used in wafer sheets at different concentrations [5.00 (GP5), 10.0 (GP10), and 15.0 g 100 g−1 (GP15)] for the partial replacement of wheat flour (WF) and improve the functionality of wafer sheets. The GP inclusion at concentrations higher than 5.00 g 100 g−1 significantly affected the texture of sheets as well as the flow behaviour of batters, resulting in softer sheets and more viscous batters (P < 0.05). Moisture contents did not significantly change after GP addition (P > 0.05). After the addition of GP, the L* values decreased and the a* values increased, making the wafers darker (P < 0.05). Moreover, under simulated in vitro digestion conditions, the bioaccessibility of total phenolic compounds in saliva, gastric juice, and intestinal juice was significantly higher than control even at the lowest GP concentration (P < 0.05). Regarding sensory properties, only smoothness and crispness were significantly affected by GP addition, and samples were found to be crisper with higher concentrations of GP. In conclusion, it is possible to partially replace the WF in wafers with GP at a concentration of 5.00 g 100 g−1 to develop a product with higher functionality and nutrient content.  相似文献

In this study, grape pomace (mixture of grape seeds and skins) powder (GPP), obtained from grape processing, was used at different concentrations [10.0 (GPP10), 20.0 (GPP10) and 30.0 (GPP10) g/100 g] in white chocolate formulation for the partial replacement of sucrose. The results indicated that GPP addition at a higher concentration (>10.0 g/100 g) significantly affected the particle size, moisture content, texture and flow behaviour of white chocolate samples (P < 0.05). However, using GPP at a concentration of 10.0 g/100 g had advantages for physicochemical and flow properties. As expected, under simulated in vitro digestion conditions, the bioaccessibility of total phenolic compounds in saliva, gastric juice and intestinal juice for GPP10 samples was significantly higher than the control (P < 0.05). In conclusion, results of the study showed that it was possible to partially replace the sucrose with GPP at a concentration of 10.0 g/100 g in white chocolate formulations.  相似文献

A noncontact chemical and electrical measurement X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) technique is performed to investigate a CdS-based photoresistor during its operation. The main objective of the technique is to trace chemical- and location-specified surface potential variations as shifts of the XPS Cd 3d(5/2) peak position without and under photoillumination with four different lasers. The system is also modeled to extract electrical information. By analyzing the measured potential variations with this model, location-dependent resistance values are represented (i) two dimensionally for line scans and (ii) three dimensionally for areal measurements. In both cases, one of the dimensions is the binding energy. The main advantage of the technique is its ability to assess an element-specific surface electrical potential of a device under operation based on the energy deviation of core level peaks in surface domains. Detection of the variations in electrical potentials and especially their responses to the energy of the illuminating source in operando, is also shown to be capable of detecting, locating, and identifying the chemical nature of structural and other types of defects.  相似文献

This study is the first to investigate the antileishmanial activities of Nigella sativa oil (NSO) entrapped poly‐ɛ ‐caprolactone (PCL) nanoparticles on Leishmania infantum promastigotes and amastigotes in vitro. NSO molecules with variable initial doses of 50, 100, 150, and 200 mg were successfully encapsulated into PCL nanoparticles identified as formulations NSO1, NSO2, NSO3, and NSO4, respectively. This process was characterised by scanning electron microscope, dynamic light scattering, Fourier transform infrared, encapsulation efficiency measurements, and release profile evaluations. The resulting synthetised nanoparticles had sizes ranging between 200 and 390 nm. PCL nanoparticles encapsulated 98% to 80% of initial doses of NSO and after incubation released approximately 85% of entrapped oil molecules after 288 h. All investigated formulations demonstrated strong antileishmanial effects on L. infantum promastigotes by inhibiting up to 90% of parasites after 192 h. The tested formulations decreased infection indexes of macrophages in a range between 2.4‐ and 4.1‐fold in contrast to control, thus indicating the strong anti‐amastigote activities of NSO encapsulated PCL nanoparticles. Furthermore, NSO‐loaded PCL nanoparticles showed immunomodulatory effects by increasing produced nitric oxide amounts within macrophages by 2–3.5‐fold in contrast to use of free oil. Surface modification of polyamide-6 (PA-6) was investigated by melt blending with silicone-urea copolymers or organofunctionally terminated polydimethylsiloxane oligomers. Blends were prepared in a laboratory scale high-shear melt mixer. Surface characteristics of the blends were determined by static water contact angle measurements and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Effect of the type, composition, average molecular weight and amount of the silicone additive in the blends, on the surface properties were determined. Influence of the thermal history of the samples on the surface properties was also investigated. All of the blends showed formation of silicone rich surfaces. Surface modification was permanent due to either the formation of chemical bonds between additive and polyamide and/or very strong hydrogen bonding between urea and amide groups.  相似文献

Diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform (DRIFT) spectroscopy was used to assess the effects of heat damage on carbon‐fiber‐reinforced polymer composites. Moisture‐saturated graphite–epoxy laminates with a quasi‐isotropic lay‐up were heat‐damaged above their upper service temperatures. The loss of matrix‐dominated mechanical properties due to heat exposure was investigated in the laboratory under environmental testing conditions with mechanical tests, ultrasonic C‐scanning, and DRIFT spectroscopy. The reduction of the mechanical strength of the composite materials was accompanied by an increase in the carbonyl band integral and a decrease in the phenyl ratio and hydroxyl and hydrocarbon band integrals, as shown by the DRIFT spectra. DRIFT was confirmed to be more effective than ultrasonic inspection in evaluating the extent of heat damage, and a good correlation was found between the mechanical test results and DRIFT spectra. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The electrodeposition of CuInSe2 is investigated to improve the stoichiometric properties of CuInSe2 layers on indium tin oxide (ITO)-coated glass substrates and to develop one-step electrodeposition method for solar cell applications. XPS was utilized for the characterization of the surface properties of CuInSe2 layers. The influence of the complexing agent, e.g. benzotriazole, bulk concentration of Cu and Se and deposition potentials on the stoichiometric properties, are discussed.  相似文献

Active queue management (AQM) is investigated to avoid incipient congestion in gateways to complement congestion control run by the transport layer protocol such as the TCP. Most existing work on AQM can be categorized as (1) ad-hoc event-driven control and (2) time-driven feedback control approaches based on control theory. Ad hoc event-driven approaches for congestion control, such as RED (random early detection), lack a mathematical model. Thus, it is hard to analyze their dynamics and tune the parameters. Time-driven control theoretic approaches based on solid mathematical models have drawbacks too. As they sample the queue length and run AQM algorithm at every fixed time interval, they may not be adaptive enough to an abrupt load surge. Further, they can be executed unnecessarily often under light loads due to the time-driven nature. To seamlessly integrate the advantages of both event-driven and control-theoretic time-driven approaches, we present an event-driven feedback control approach based on formal control theory. As our approach is based on a mathematical model, its performance is more analyzable and predictable than ad hoc event-driven approaches are. Also, it is more reactive to dynamic load changes due to its event-driven nature. Our simulation results show that our event-driven controller effectively maintains the queue length around the specified set-point. It achieves shorter E2E (end-to-end) delays and smaller E2E delay fluctuations than several existing AQM approaches, which are ad hoc event-driven and based on time-driven control theory, while achieving almost the same E2E delays and E2E delay fluctuations as the two other advanced control theoretic AQM approaches. Further, our AQM algorithm is invoked much less frequently than the tested baselines.  相似文献

Composition and structure dependence of the shift in the position of the surface plasmon resonance band upon introduction of NaBH4 to aqueous solutions of gold and silver nanoparticles are presented. Silver and gold nanoalloys in different compositions were prepared by co-reduction of the corresponding salt mixtures using sodium citrate as the reducing agent. After addition of NaBH4 to the resultant nanoalloys, the maximum of their surface plasmon resonance band, ranging between that of pure silver (ca. 400 nm) and of pure gold (ca. 530 nm), is blue-shifted as a result of electron storage on the particles. The extent of this blue shift increases non-linearly with the mole fraction of silver in the nanoparticle, parallel to the trends reported previously for both the frequency and the extinction coefficient of the plasmon band shifts. Gold(core)@silver(shell) nanoparticles were prepared by sequential reduction of gold and silver, where addition of NaBH4 results in relatively large spectral shift in the plasmon resonance band when compared with the nanoalloys having a similar overall composition. The origin of the large plasmon band shift in the core-shell is related with a higher silver surface concentration on these particles. Hence, the chemical nature of the nanoparticle emerges as the dominating factor contributing to the extent of the spectral shift as a result of electron storage in bimetallic systems.  相似文献
