The corrosion inhibition of the synthesis poly o-anisidine on 304 SS has been studied by using a different electrochemical technique such as potential-time measurement, EIS and polarization methods in 0.5 M HCl, and 3.5% NaCl solutions. The poly o-anisidine layer has been obtained on SS electrochemically from 0.5M H2SO4 acid solution by using cyclic voltammetric (CV), potentiostatic and galvanostatic techniques. The polymer layer provides around 93% protection in acid solution by potentiostatic coating. Nevertheless, the poly o-anisidine coating is not protected in 3.5% NaCl media by cyclic voltametry and galvanostatic coating. The examination of polymer surface by SEM confirms the results obtained. For characterization of polymer layer the UV-vis spectra and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra of the polymer films were measured. This work was aimed to study the effect of electrodeposition method of poly o-anisidine on corrosion protection of 304 SS.  相似文献

There are increasing demands on portable communication devices to run multimedia applications. ISO (an International Organization for Standardization) standard MPEG-4 is an important and demanding multimedia application. To satisfy the growing consumer demands, more functions are added to support MPEG-4 video applications. With improved CPU speed, memory sub-system deficiency is the major barrier to improving the system performance. Studies show that there is sufficient reuse of values for caching that significantly reduce the memory bandwidth requirement for video data. Software decoding of MPEG-4 video data generates much more cache-memory traffic than required. Proper understanding of the decoding algorithm and the composition of its data set is obvious to improve the performance of such a system. The focus of this paper is cache modeling and optimization for portable communication devices running MPEG-4 video decoding algorithm. The architecture we simulate includes a digital signal processor (DSP) for running the MPEG-4 decoding algorithm and a memory system with two levels of caches. We use VisualSim and Cachegrind simulation tools to optimize cache sizes, levels of associativity, and cache levels for a portable device decoding MPEG-4 video. Abu Asaduzzaman is, currently, a PhD candidate in the department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Florida Atlantic University (FAU), Boca Raton, Florida. He received his MS degree in computer engineering from FAU in 1997. Mr. Asaduzzaman worked for ECI Telecom as a software engineer from 1998 to 2001. From 2001 to 2003, he worked for BlueCross and BlueShield of Florida and SunPass (FDoT) as an IT Consultant. Currently, he is working as a research assistant at CSE Dept, FAU. His research interests include cache optimization, architecture exploration, embedded system evaluation, and networks-on-a-chip (NoC). He has published several research papers in these areas. Abu is a member of the honor society of Phi Kappa Phi, Tau Beta Pi, Upsilon Phi Epsilon, and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) FAU Chapter. Imad Mahgoub received the MS degree in applied mathematics and MS degree in electrical and computer engineering, both from North Carolina State University, Raleigh in 1983 and 1986 respectively and the PhD degree in computer engineering from the Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA in 1989. Dr. Mahgoub joined Florida Atlantic University (FAU), Boca Raton, Florida in 1989. Currently he is a full professor of Computer Science and Engineering department and the director of the Mobile Computing Laboratory. His research interests include performance evaluation, mobile computing, sensor networks, and parallel and distributed processing. He has published over 80 research papers in these areas. He is the co-editor of the Mobile Computing Handbook and the Handbook of Sensor Networks. Dr. Mahgoub has served on the program committees of numerous conferences. He has been the vice-chair for the Symposium on Performance Evaluation of Computer and Telecommunication Systems (SPECTS) since 2003. He is a senior member of the IEEE. He is also a member of Tau Beta Pi, Upsilon Pi Epsilon, the IEEE Computer Society, and the ACM.  相似文献

In this note a Lyapunov function for a 2-D time invariant discrete linear system is introduced, using the 2-D system model given by Roesser [1]. The Lyapunov function may be used to investigate the asymptotic stability of the 2-D system. Previous work dealing with asymptotic stability of 2-D systems [3]-[5] is based upon the location of roots of the characteristic polynomial in the closed polydiskoverline{U}^{2}.  相似文献

Vehicular networking applications often use multi‐hop wireless broadcasting as a primary data dissemination mechanism. Therefore, protocols that efficiently and thoroughly propagate application data while adapting to a wide range of network density, vehicle distribution pattern, channel quality, and other conditions are critical for vehicular communications. Here, we design the Statistical Vehicular Broadcast (SVB) protocol to efficiently distribute data via multi‐hop broadcast in vehicular networks. First, we present an automated optimization technique for the design of threshold functions in statistical broadcasting methods. Next, we compare and analyze known statistical techniques, including different fundamental methods, assessment delay algorithms, and failsafe mechanisms. All combinations of these techniques are given threshold functions optimized using the proposed automated procedure then are evaluated in a wide range of simulations. High‐level statistical design principles and recommendations are established based on analysis of these results. Finally, we apply those principles to design SVB. It is evaluated in JiST/SWANS and is shown to achieve a high target reachability level while consuming less bandwidth than similar protocols across urban and highway vehicular networking scenarios.Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A simple spectrophotometric method is used for the resolution of the binary mixtures of ampicillin sodium and sulbactam sodium. In aqueous solution, zero-order spectra are subject to interference, so first-derivative spectrophotometry was used to enhance the spectral details allowing the determination of ampicillin sodium from the signal at the zero-crossing point for sulbactam sodium at 268 nm. In 0.1 N sodium hydroxide, sulbactam sodium was determined from the absorbance at 260 nm with negligible contribution from ampicillin sodium. Also, sulbactam sodium was determined without interference using first- and second-derivative spectra in 0.1 N sodium hydroxide at 276 nm (peak-height) and 262-284 nm (peak-to-peak), respectively. The method is rapid, simple, does not require a separation step and allows the determination of each drug without interference from the other. The proposed method has been applied successfully to the assay of these drugs in mixtures and in commercial injections.  相似文献

Decrease in intracellular thiols leads to oxidative stress and thus may cause alterations in the activity of redox-sensitive enzymes required for signal transduction. Here, we report that, N-ethylmaleimide and phenylarsine oxide, which are known to oxidize free thiols as well as protein thiols, induced phosphatidyl ethanol generation in the micromolar range suggesting activation of phospholipase D in vascular smooth muscle cells. These agents also induced significant phosphatidic acid and diacylglycerol generation without causing protein kinase C activation. Phenylarsine oxide and N-ethyl maleimide induced phospholipase D activation is protein kinase C independent as it was not inhibited by compound-3 and bisindolylmaleimide, potent protein kinase C inhibitors. Tyrosine kinase inhibitor herbimycin A by itself activated PLD, but inhibited the phospholipase D activation by phenylarsine oxide and N-ethylmaleimide. These results suggest that oxidation of the cellular thiols activates phospholipase D independent of protein kinase C.  相似文献

Samples of psoas major and minor muscles were randomly collected weekly from 203 (99 hot and 104 cool seasons) Omani goats, 215 (106 hot and 109 cool seasons) Omani sheep, 212 (104 hot and 108 cool seasons) Somali goats, 242 (127 hot and 115 cool seasons) Somali sheep and 211 (110 hot and 101 cool seasons) Australian Merino sheep slaughtered at the Central Slaughterhouse in Oman to investigate the effect of season on meat quality. The collection period was during November 2004–October 2005 and divided into two seasons according to ambient temperatures and relative humidity. These were termed: cool season (average temperature of 21 °C and 59% relative humidity and hot season (average temperature of 35 °C and 47% relative humidity). Muscles collected during the hot season had significantly (P < 0.05) higher ultimate pH values (5.78) than those collected during the cool season (5.65). Myofibrillar fragmentation index was significantly (P < 0.05) higher for hot season samples (86.88%) than for cool season samples (85.59%). Expressed juice was significantly (P < 0.05) higher for cool season samples (36.84) than for hot season samples (35.74). Goat meat from the hot seasonal group was significantly (P < 0.05) darker than the cold season group based on L* (37.6 vs. 39.6), a* (20.0 vs. 23.3) and b* (3.6 vs. 4.2) colour measurements. These results indicated that high ambient temperatures had caused an increase in muscle ultimate pH leading to significant effects on meat quality.  相似文献

Cyberbullying (CB) is a challenging issue in social media and it becomes important to effectively identify the occurrence of CB. The recently developed deep learning (DL) models pave the way to design CB classifier models with maximum performance. At the same time, optimal hyperparameter tuning process plays a vital role to enhance overall results. This study introduces a Teacher Learning Genetic Optimization with Deep Learning Enabled Cyberbullying Classification (TLGODL-CBC) model in Social Media. The proposed TLGODL-CBC model intends to identify the existence and non-existence of CB in social media context. Initially, the input data is cleaned and pre-processed to make it compatible for further processing. Followed by, independent recurrent autoencoder (IRAE) model is utilized for the recognition and classification of CBs. Finally, the TLGO algorithm is used to optimally adjust the parameters related to the IRAE model and shows the novelty of the work. To assuring the improved outcomes of the TLGODL-CBC approach, a wide range of simulations are executed and the outcomes are investigated under several aspects. The simulation outcomes make sure the improvements of the TLGODL-CBC model over recent approaches.  相似文献
