Traffic caused by P2P services dominates a large part of traffic on the Internet and imposes significant loads on the Internet, so reducing P2P traffic within networks is an important issue for ISPs. In particular, a huge amount of traffic is transferred within backbone networks; therefore reducing P2P traffic is important for transit ISPs to improve the efficiency of network resource usage and reduce network capital cost. To reduce P2P traffic, it is effective for ISPs to implement cache devices at some router ports and reduce the hop length of P2P flows by delivering the required content from caches. However, the design problem of cache locations and capacities has not been well investigated, although the effect of caches strongly depends on the cache locations and capacities. We propose an optimum design method of cache capacity and location for minimizing the total amount of P2P traffic based on dynamic programming, assuming that transit ISPs provide caches at transit links to access ISP networks. We apply the proposed design method to 31 actual ISP backbone networks and investigate the main factors determining cache efficiency. We also analyze the property of network structure in which deploying caches are effective in reducing P2P traffic for transit ISPs. We show that transit ISPs can reduce the P2P traffic within their networks by about 50-85% by optimally designing caches at the transit links to the lower networks.  相似文献

Safety demonstration tests using the High Temperature Engineering Test Reactor (HTTR) will be conducted for the purpose of demonstrating inherent safety features of High Temperature Gas-cooled Reactors (HTGRs) as well as providing the core and plant transient data for validation of HTGR safety analysis codes. The first phase safety demonstration test items include the reactivity insertion test and the coolant flow reduction test. In the reactivity insertion test, which is the control rod withdrawal test, one pair out of 16 pairs of control rods is withdrawn, simulating a reactivity insertion event. The coolant flow reduction test consists of the partial loss of coolant flow test and the gas circulators trip test. In the partial loss of coolant flow test, primary coolant flow rate is slightly reduced by control system. In the gas circulators trip test one and two out of three gas circulators are run down, simulating coolant flow reduction events. The gas circulators trip tests, in which position of control rods are kept unchanged, are simulation tests of anticipated transients without scram (ATWS).  相似文献

Tendon-driven robot utilizes only tensile force (i.e. tension) for motion generation. Therefore, a redundant actuation is characteristically necessary, and then it yields the internal force among tendons. Given the internal force for balance at a desired posture, the musculoskeletal tendon-driven manipulator has the inherent possibility of point-to-point position control without any sensory feedback. However, the motion convergence is strongly governed by the arrangement of tendons.This study analyzes the mathematical conditions of convergence for this sensorless position control by use of a Lyapunov function. Subsequently, targeting the two-link musculoskeletal structure with six tendons, the sufficient conditions for the convergence at desired posture are further defined by employing an approximation of the tendon-length based on a Taylor expansion. Finally, the convergent conditions are verified through simulation and validated via experimental results.  相似文献

The authors present a near 1200 nm wavelength vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) the active region of which is formed by GaInNAs/GaAs quantum wells grown by chemical beam epitaxy. Room temperature continuous-wave operation has been demonstrated with a high slope efficiency of 0.23 W/A, a high output power of over 1.0 mW, and a singlemode output power of 0.34 mW. The fabricated devices with different aperture sizes show low threshold currents of 1.2-2.1 mA and a record low threshold current density of 2.6 kA/cm2 in GaInNAs VCSELs  相似文献

The operation of a pair of anode-to-anode-facing solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) via in situ catalytic partial oxidation (CPO) of n-butane was investigated. In this simple “no-chamber” setup, butane is partially oxidized by heterogeneous reactions inside the porous anodes, providing processed fuel and the heat required for SOFC operation. The cell couple yielded a power density of up to 270 mW cm−2, and the maximum total power obtained was 1.2 W with cell sizes of 13 mm × 23 mm. The maximum electrical efficiency was 1.3%. High CO concentrations of up to 1000 ppm were detected in the exhaust gas, indicating that the cell couple could not efficiently consume the complete provided fuel. A flame, lit at the exhaust, minimized the carbon monoxide level while having insignificant influence on the cell performance. Thermal insulation of the cell couple improved the output remarkably, showing the strong influence of temperature on cell performance. The two cells had a distance of only 2 mm, suggesting a potential for high volumetric power densities in multi-cell configurations for a self-sustained combined heat and power system.  相似文献

To clarify the effect of the suppression of natural heat transfer, the local heat transfer coefficients on a vertical cooled flat plate with circular grooves were measured by a multi‐type thermocouple method. Two flat plates with and without periodic circular grooves were tested in this experiment. The characteristics of heat transfer along the plate for both plates were compared. The local heat transfer coefficients on the periodic grooved plate became smaller than that of the flat plate. The flow pattern was changed when it passed over the grooves, and circulation was generated in the grooves in the downstream. As a result, the thickness of the thermal boundary layer on the grooved plate was more developed than the normal flat plate. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We carried out the growth of highly strained GaInAs-GaAs quantum wells (QWs) on a patterned substrate for extending emission wavelength on a GaAs substrate. We examined the shift of photoluminescence wavelength of the QWs and showed a large wavelength shift due to the spatial modulation in well thickness and indium composition. We demonstrated a single-mode multiple-wavelength vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) array on a patterned GaAs substrate covering a new wavelength window of 1.1-1.2 /spl mu/m. By optimizing pattern shape, we achieved multiple-wavelength operation with widely and precisely controlled lasing wavelengths. The maximum lasing span is as large as 77 nm. We carried out a data transmission experiment through 5-km of single-mode fiber with a 2.5 Gb/s/channel. The total throughput reaches 10 Gb/s. The VCSEL-based wavelength-division-multiplexing (WDM) source would be a good candidate for WDM-LAN beyond 10 Gb/s.  相似文献

An attempt was made to enrich arachidonic acid (AA) from Mortierella single-cell oil, which had an AA content of 25%. The first step involved the hydrolysis of the oil with Pseudomonas sp. lipase. A mixture of 2.5 g oil, 2.5 g water, and 4000 units (U) Pseudomonas lipase was incubated at 40°C for 40 h with stirring at 500 rpm. The hydrolysis was 90% complete after 40 h, and the resulting free fatty acids (FFA) were extracted with n-hexane (AA content, 25%; recovery of AA, 91%). The second step involved the selective esterification of the fatty acids with lauryl alcohol and Candida rugosa lipase. A mixture of 3.5 g fatty acids/lauryl alcohol (1:1, mol/mol), 1.5 g water, and 1000 U Candida lipase was incubated at 30°C for 16 h with stirring at 500 rpm. Under these conditions, 55% of the fatty acids were esterified, and the AA content in the FFA fraction was raised to 51% with a 92% yield. The long-chain saturated fatty acids in the FFA fraction were eliminated as urea adducts. This procedure raised the AA content to 63%. To further elevate the AA content, the fatty acids were esterified again in the same manner with Candida lipase. The repeated esterification raised the AA content to 75% with a recovery of 71% of its initial content.  相似文献
