Cyclic strength of parts with overlapping zones formed by roller burnishing

The authors study residual stresses in and cyclic strength of shaft with overlapping zones formed during roller burnishing. The most significant decrease in fatigue strength is shown to occur in the presence of an overlapping zone with the areas arising due to a lowered roller burnishing pressure in the second pass. __________ Translated from Problemy Prochnosti, No. 3, pp. 144–148, May–June, 2006.     

On a method of logic design with branched cores

The maximum evaluation for variations of a signal proportional to a threshold element input composition is calculated. A design procedure is developed for a logical element with an absolute magnitude of its output composition independent of the input code. The method suggested makes it possible to design a complete binary summer on one multiaperture magnetic core.     

Clinical manifestations of cross-allergic reactions to food among children

Scientists have recently studied the frequency and possible forms of clinical manifestations of cross-reactivity to food among 239 of Abakan at the age from 6 month to 15 years with skin, respiratory and combined manifestation of atopy It was proved that risk factors of development of cross-reactivity to food occur among 80% of children who have various forms of allergic diseases moreover the cross allergic reactions between the foodstuffs most frequently occur with the gastrointestinal and with skin forms of food allergy and the cross allergic reactions between the pollen and food allergens more frequently occut with the respiratory forms of atopy and dermorespiratory syndrome. Considerably more rarely this type of reactions is discovered between the epidermal and food allergens, which most frequently were revealed with the dermatorespiratory syndrome.     

Design concepts of complex information processing systems with data from many different-type sources located at one or several mobile platforms

This study deals with design concepts of a complex information processing system with data from many different-type sources located at one or several mobile platforms. Approaches to the selection of CIPS structure and its hardware implementation were proposed. Optimization criteria were discussed for solving the main functional tasks of the system engaged in data acquisition and integration from information sources, target distribution and the delivery of target designation to users on shipboard.     

Risk factors and etiological structure of children's cross-allergic reactions to food products

Authors of article have recently analyzed the frequency of prevalence and risk factors of cross-reactivity to foodstuffs among 239 children of Abakan in the age of from 6 months till 15 years with skin, respiratory and combined manifestation of atopy. It was proved that risk factors of development of cross-reactivity to food among children of the first years of life are hereditary predisposition to allergic diseases (77.8%) and early introductions of supplemental feeding (44%). Among children older then 7 years pollen sensitization (62%) which preceded the development of cross allergic reactions between separate foodstuffs reaches up to 73.7%, between pollen and foodstuff up to 79% and between epidermal and food up to 10.1%.     

Hybrid catalysts based on platinum and palladium nanoparticles for the hydrogenation of terpenes under slurry conditions

Catalysts based on platinum and palladium nanoparticles immobilized in mesoporous phenolformaldehyde polymers modified with sulfo groups have been used for the hydrogenation of a number of terpenes, such as (S)-(–)-limonene, α-terpinene, γ-terpinene, and terpinolene. It has been found that Pd-containing catalysts exhibit higher activity in the exhaustive hydrogenation of terpenes, whereas Pt-containing catalysts have high selectivity for p-menthene.     

On the Theory of Isothermal Hot Rolling of an Aluminum Alloy Strip

The two-dimensional problem of isothermal (including superplasticity conditions) rolling of an aluminum sheet (at a low angle of bite) is analytically solved, and the influence of high homologous temperature on the pressure on rolls is estimated. The energy–force and kinematic parameters of rolling are found using a dynamic model, which adequately describes the experimental data obtained for commercial aluminum alloys. Calculation results are presented for AMg5 and D18T alloys.
