An experiment was conducted to elucidate the origin of tetraploids (2n = 4x = 44) of Paragonimus westermani that occur together with diploid (2n = 2x = 22) and triploid (2n = 3x = 33) types in Liaoning Province, the People's Republic of China. Metacercariae of the diploid type, obtained from Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, and those of the triploid type from Tsushima, Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan, were mixed and inoculated into dogs and cats. The following results were obtained. The flukes were found in pairs within cysts in random combinations of 2x + 2x, 2x + 3x, and 3x + 3x (7:15:7). Oocytes in the oviduct were at stages from diplotene to metaphase. In a triploid fluke encysted with a diploid fluke, the primary oocytes were intruded by sperms from the diploid fluke. In the primary oocytes of diploid as well as triploid flukes, from diplotene to diakinesis, the homologues of the nucleolar chromosomes were heteromorphic as far as the size of the short arm was concerned. This implies that the triploid is an autotriploid generated in an ancestral diploid population that was polymorphic for the nucleolar chromosome. 相似文献

An experimental investigation of heat transfer and pressure drop from a new type of corrugated channels is presented. The investigation has been carried out for Reynolds numbers in the range of for one corrugated and one smooth channel. It is found that the heat transfer from the corrugated channel is up to 3.5 times higher than for the smooth one. The pressure drop is however large (5 – 6 times the value of a smooth channel) and it is suggested that the corrugation height and length should be altered in order to balance the increases in heat transfer and pressure drop. 相似文献

Lightweight insulation refractories are essential for high-temperature performance to reduce energy consumption. This study investigates a new insulation material, that is, solid waste rice husk ash (RHA) derived lightweight refractory castable, replacing traditional insulation refractory brick. The RHA is generated after the burning of rice husk as biomass fuel. The RHA is used as an aggregate and alkali-extracted silica sol from RHA as a binder to fabricate the insulation castable. The nanosilica containing (~30 wt%) sol is employed to synthesize the refractory castable by varying the sol amount (2.5-12.5 wt% silica from sol). The castable specimens are cast by a vibro-caster and fired at 900-1200°C in a muffle furnace. The physic-mechanical and thermal conductivity (κ) of the castable is investigated. At 1100°C with 10 wt% dry sol retaining sample shows an excellent apparent porosity (~65%), low bulk density (~ 0.8 g/cm3), and κ (0.136 W/m k) with sustainable compressive strength (6 MPa). The acquired results are a good match with the literature (other wastes-derived insulation materials) and industrial (silica insulation brick) obtained data. n−3 fatty acids (fish oil; FO), but were similar in their content of saturated and monounsaturated fatty acids and vitamin
E. At the end of the four-week feeding period, each dietary group was subdivided into two groups. One group received a single
placebo injection of α-tocopherol-stripped corn oil (TSCO); the other group received a single injection of the free radical
generator, methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP), in TSCO. Twenty-four hours after injection, the effect of dietary oil and
MEKP treatment on endogenous lipid peroxide (LPO) production (measured as methylene blue formed by the “Determiner LPO” assay),
glutathione (GSH) and vitamin E content, and fatty acid composition of phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine in
heart and liver from unfasted animals were measured. FO-fed rats had significantly heavier hearts and livers, increased levels
of n−3 fatty acids in membrane phospholipids, and higher liver LPO levels than CO-fed rats. MEKP treatment resulted in significantly
lower body weights and liver GSH levels. The data indicate that dietary n−3 fatty acids increase lipid peroxidation in liver
somewhat more than in heart. The study also demonstrates that the effect of induced oxidative stress due to a single dose
of MEKP on lipid peroxide formation and antioxidant status in tissues from unfasted animals was independent of the dietary

Maximum bubble pressure, dilatometric, and meniscographic methods were used in the investigations of the surface tension,
density, wetting time, wetting force, contact angle, and interfacial tension of liquid alloys of Sn−Ag−Cu eutectic composition
with various additions of Bi. Density and surface tension measurements were conducted in the temperature range 250–900 °C.
Surface tensions at 250 °C measured under a protective atmosphere of Ar−H2 were combined with data from meniscographic studies done under air or with a protective flux. The meniscographic data with
a nonwetted teflon substrate provided data on interfacial tension (solder-flux), surface tension in air, and meniscographic
data with a Cu substrate allowed determinations of wetting time, wetting force, and calculation of contact angle. The calculated
wetting angles from meniscographic studies for binary Sn−Ag eutectic and two ternary Sn−Ag−Cu alloys were verified by separate
measurements by the sessile drop method under a protective atmosphere with a Cu substrate. Additions of Bi to both ternary

The ADAMIS database was used for calculation of the surface tension of the quaternary Sn−Ag−Cu−Bi liquid alloys by Butler's
model. The resultant data were compared with those from the maximum bubble pressure measurements from Part I. The same thermodynamic
database was next applied for the calculation of various phase equilibria. It was established that the Bi addition to the
ternary Sn−Ag−Cu alloys (Sn-2.6Ag-0.46Cu and Sn-3.13Ag-0.74Cu in at.%; Sn-2.56Ag-0.26 Cu and Sn-2.86Ag-O.40Cu in mass%) causes
lowering of the melting temperature and the surface tension to make the tested alloys closer to, traditional Sn−Pb solders.
The simulation of the solidification by Scheil's model showed that the alloys with the higher Bi concentration are characterized
by the lifting-off failure due to the segregation of Bi at the solder/substrate boundary. Thus, in modeling of new Pb-free

In a CuZnAl alloy containing 2.2 wt% of nickel it was found that due to alloy quenching and low temperature ageing, precipitation of NiAl disperse particles takes place resulting in raising of martensitic transformation characteristic temperatures. The ease with which this phase precipitates indicates the low thermal stability of this alloy. At the same time the process of precipitation of NiAl particles offers an opportunity for control of shape recovery temperature by varying quenching temperature, cooling rate and especially ageing time, since variations of characteristic temperatures as a function of ageing time can be expressed by the relation T=At
