In the present work, two types of shear thickening fluids have been synthesized by using neat and aminosilane functionalized silica nanoparticles and their viscosity curves have been obtained by the rheometer. Based on the values of peak viscosity of synthesized shear thickening fluids, the surface functionalized nanosilica based shear thickening fluid has been chosen as a best candidate due to the high viscosity for impregnation into the neat Kevlar of different layers viz. four (04) and eight (08) layers for velocity impact study. The experimental investigations reveal high energy absorption of shear thickening fluid impregnated Kevlar as compared to the neat Kevlar. The maximum energy absorption 62 J is achieved corresponding to the initial velocity 154 m∙s−1 for 08 layers shear thickening fluid impregnated Kevlar specimen. The data have also been analytically determined and validated with the experimental data. The experimental data have good agreement with the analytical data within the accuracy of around 15 to 20%. The present findings can have significant inferences towards the fabrication of shear thickening fluids using nanomaterials for numerous applications such as soft armors, dampers, nanofinishing and so forth.  相似文献

The dielectric behavior of sol-gel derived Ba0.80Sr0.20(ZrxTi1−x)O3 (0.0 ≤ x ≤ 0.50) thin films is studied. A relaxor behavior is observed for x ≥ 0.35. The degree of relaxation increases with Zr content. The frequency dependence of the polar regions follows Vogel-Fulcher relation with a characteristic cooperative freezing at freezing temperature (Tf). Below Tf, a long range polarization ordering is likely to take place. The plausible mechanism of the relaxor behavior of BSZT thin films with Zr contents ≥ 0.35 has been proposed based on the measured temperature as well as frequency dependent dielectric data. The solid solution system is visualized as a mixture of Ti+ 4 rich polar regions and Zr+ 4 rich regions; with the increase in Zr content the volume fraction of the polar regions is progressively reduced. At and above 35.0 at.% Zr substitution the polar regions exhibit typical relaxor behavior.  相似文献

The mechanical, electrical, and thermal expansion properties of carbon nanotube(CNT)-based silver and silver–palladium(10:1, w/w) alloy nanocomposites are reported. To tailor the properties of silver, CNTs were incorporated into a silver matrix by a modified molecular level-mixing process. CNTs interact weakly with silver because of their non-reactive nature and lack of mutual solubility. Therefore, palladium was utilized as an alloying element to improve interfacial adhesion. Comparative microstructural characterizations and property evaluations of the nanocomposites were performed. The structural characterizations revealed that decorated type-CNTs were dispersed, embedded, and anchored into the silver matrix. The experimental results indicated that the modification of the silver and silver–palladium nanocomposite with CNT resulted in increases in the hardness and Young's modulus along with concomitant decreases in the electrical conductivity and the coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE). The hardness and Young's modulus of the nanocomposites were increased by 30%?40% whereas the CTE was decreased to 50%-60% of the CTE of silver. The significantly improved CTE and the mechanical properties of the CNT-reinforced silver and silver–palladium nanocomposites are correlated with the intriguing properties of CNTs and with good interfacial adhesion between the CNTs and silver as a result of the fabrication process and the contact action of palladium as an alloying element.  相似文献

A criterion for the global asymptotic stability of fixed-point state-space digital filters using two’s complement arithmetic is presented. The criterion is a modified form of a well-known criterion due to Mills, Mullis, and Roberts. The criterion is in the form of linear matrix inequality and, hence, computationally tractable. Since computer hardware and Internet is growing so fast today, security threats of malicious executable code are getting more serious. Basically, malicious executable codes are categorized into three kinds – virus, Trojan Horse, and worm. Current anti-virus products cannot detect all the malicious codes, especially for those unseen, polymorphism malicious executable codes. The newly developed virus will create the damages before it has been found and updated in database. The basic idea of the proposed system is, it will analyze the behavior of the malicious codes and based on the behavior signature of the malicious code content filtering mechanism will be used to filter out contents, so that, the system will be secured from the future communication processes. The behavior of the code is analyzed using the function extraction technology. The function extraction technology will replace the function codes into algebraic expressions. Based on the behavior of the malicious codes, it will be categorized into different kinds of malicious codes. The detected malicious code will be prevented from execution. Based on the type of malicious code, appropriate security mechanism will be used for further communication.  相似文献

Thermodynamic analysis of dimethyl ether (DME) and methane synthesis from CO2 hydrogenation, and dry reforming of methane was performed using Gibbs free energy minimization. The effects of temperature, pressure, and feed composition on conversion, selectivity, and yield were investigated for each process. High pressure, high H2/CO2 ratio, and low temperature favored DME production. The yield of methane during CO2 methanation increased at lower temperature, higher pressure, and H2/CO2 ratio. The yield of synthesis gas improved at higher temperature. Comparison of the three processes demonstrated that the CO2 conversion was highest during CO2 methanation reaction if the fraction of CO2 mol in the feed was less than 0.3. Above this value in the feed, dry reforming allowed the highest CO2 conversion.  相似文献

Tungsten oxide (WO3) nano-ribbons (NRs) were obtained by annealing tungstite (WO3·H2O) NRs. The latter was synthesized below room temperature using a simple, environmentally benign, and low cost aging treatment of precursors made by adding hydrochloric acid to diluted sodium tungstate solutions (Na2WO4·2H2O). WO3 generates significant interests and is being used in a growing variety of applications. It is therefore important to identify suitable methods of production and better understand its properties. The phase transformation was observed to be initiated between 200 and 300 °C, and the crystallographic structure of the NRs changed from orthorhombic WO3·H2O to monoclinic WO3. It was rigorously studied by annealing a series of samples ex situ in ambient air up to 800 °C and characterizing them afterward. A temperature-dependent Raman spectroscopy study was performed on tungstite NRs between minus 180 and 700 °C. Also, in situ heating experiments in the transmission electron microscope allowed for the direct observation of the phase transformation. Powder X-ray diffraction, electron diffraction, electron energy-loss spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy were employed to characterize precisely this transformation.  相似文献
