The authors report a 4 M word×1 b/1 M word×4 b BiCMOS SRAM that can be metal mask programmed as either a 6-ns access time for an ECL 100 K I/O interface to an 8-ns access time for a 3.3-V TTL I/O interface. Die size is 18.87 mm×8.77 mm. Memory cell size is 5.8 μm×3.2 μm. In order to achieve such high-speed address access times the following technologies were developed: (1) a BiCMOS level converter that directly connects the ECL signal level to the CMOS level; (2) a high-speed BiCMOS circuit with low threshold voltage nMOSFETs; (3) a design method for determining the optimum number of decoder gate stages and the optimum size of gate transistors; (4) high-speed bipolar sensing circuits used at 3.3-V supply voltage; and (5) 0.55-μm BiCMOS process technology with a triple-well structure 相似文献

The Ta2O5 powders synthesized by the hydrolysis of tantalum pentaethoxide, Ta(OC2H5)5 in alcoholic solution were monodispersed fine oxide particles, which were a uniform, spherical shape, non-agglomerate, and had a narrow size distribution. They grew to 1.2m after ageing for 1 h after hydrolysis. Powder X-ray diffraction and differential thermal analysisthermogravimetric analysis showed the particles were amorphous and hydrated. These particles lost the water at 290° C and gave well-crystalline Ta2O at 740° C. Throughout these thermal processes, the particle morphology was kept almost the same. 相似文献

Introduction : Topiroxostat, a recently developed xanthine oxidase inhibitor, is expected to have fewer adverse effects than allopurinol because it has different mechanism of action from alloprinol. However, its dosage, usage and safety have not been established in patients with impaired renal function or those undergoing dialysis at the development since no studies was conducted in these patients. Methods : Cross over clinical trial using 3 months of allopurinol and topiroxostat on 27 maintain Japanese HD patients were carried out. The effects on oxidative stress status of both drugs were also evaluated by measuring oxidation reduction potential. Findings : Twenty‐five of twenty‐seven patients completed study. The mean serum uric acid levels in the topiroxostat‐treated arm was significantly lower than it in the allopurinol‐treated arm time‐dependently (P < 0.0001). Corrected oxidative stress ratio defined as biological antioxidant potential/diacron reactive oxygen metabolites was significantly increased in topiroxostat‐arm (*P = 0.0035), but not in allopurinol‐arm (P = 0.1429). No significant difference was seen in diacron reactive oxygen metabolites, biological antioxidant potential, static oxidation‐reduction potential, and capacity oxidation‐reduction potential between pre and post treatment of both drugs. Discussion : It is suggested that a low dose of topiroxostat decreased serum uric acid sufficiently to maintain it below 7.0 mg/dL in patients receiving hemodialysis. 相似文献

It is thought that the adjustment of intraspecific aggression is an essential factor in the development of a social structure. To understand the natural laws for organizing the social structure, we focus on the fighting behavior of crickets, Gryllus bimaculatus, and investigate the neuronal mechanisms to adjust aggressiveness associated with a neuromodulatory biological amine: serotonin (5-HT).In this paper, we present a working theory of a neurophysiological mechanism based on the past biological studies on the 5-HT hypothesis, and a mathematical model of the mechanism. We analyzed this model and concluded that this neurophysiological mechanism makes the forgetting process slower. Next, we fitted our theoretical forgetting curve to an experimental curve and estimated the parameters of our model. The bacteria isolated from the patients with lower respiratory tract infections were collected by institutions located throughout Japan, since 1981. Ikemoto et al. have been investigating susceptibilities of these isolates to various antibacterial agents and antibiotics, and characteristics of the patients and isolates from them each year. Results obtained from these investigations are discussed. In 16 institutions around the entire Japan, 557 strains of presumably etiological bacteria were isolated mainly from the sputa of 449 patients with lower respiratory tract infections during the period from October 1996 to September 1997. MICs of various antibacterial agents and antibiotics were determined against 98 strains of Staphylococcus aureus, 93 strains of Streptococcus pneumoniae, 84 strains of Haemophilus influenzae, 84 strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (non-mucoid strains), 17 strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (mucoid strains), 31 strains of Moraxella subgenus Branhamella catarrhalis, 21 strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae etc., and the drug susceptibilities of these strains were assessed except for those strains that died during transportation. 1) S. aureus S. aureus strains for which MICs of oxacillin (MPIPC) were higher than 4 micrograms/ml (methicillin-resistant S. aureus) accounted for 67.3%. The frequency of the drug resistant bacteria increased comparing to the previous year's 52.7%. Arbekacin (ABK) and vancomycin (VCM) showed the highest activities against both S. aureus and MRSA with MIC80s of 1 microgram/ml. 2) S. pneumoniae Imipenem (IPM) and panipenem (PAPM) of carbapenems showed the most potent activities with MIC80s of 0.063 microgram/ml. Faropenem (FRPM) showed the next potent activity with MIC80 of 0.125 microgram/ml. The other drugs except erythromycin (EM), clindamycin (CLDM) and tetracycline (TC) were active against S. pneumoniae tested with MIC80s of 8 micrograms/ml or below. 3) H. influenzae The activities of all drugs were potent against H. influenzae tested with MIC80s of 4 micrograms/ml or below. Cefotiam (CTM), cefmenoxime (CMX), cefditoren (CDTR) and ofloxacin (OFLX) showed the most potent activities with MIC80s of 0.063 microgram/ml. 4) P. aeruginosa (mucoid strains) Tobramycin (TOB) showed the most potent activity against P. aeruginosa (mucoid strains) with MIC80 of 1 microgram/ml. Ceftazidime (CAZ), cefsulodin (CFS), IPM, gentamicin (GM), ABK and ciprofloxacin (CPFX) showed the next potent activities, with MIC80s of 2 micrograms/ml. The MIC80s of the other drugs ranged from 4 micrograms/ml to 16 micrograms/ml. 5) P. aeruginosa (non-mucoid strains) TOB and CPFX showed the most potent activities against P. aeruginosa (non-mucoid strains) with MIC80s of 1 microgram/ml. The MIC80s of piperacillin (PIPC) and cefoperazone (CPZ) were 16 micrograms/ml in 1995, and they were 64 micrograms/ml in 1996. 6) K. pneumoniae All drugs except ampicillin (ABPC) were active against K. pneumoniae. CMX, cefpirome (CPR), cefozopran (CZOP) and carumonam (CRMN) showed the most potent activities against K. pneumoniae with MIC80s of 0.125 microgram/ml. The MIC80s of the other drugs ranged from 0.25 microgram/ml to 2 micrograms/ml. 7) M.(B) catarrhalis Against M.(B.) catarrhalis, all drugs showed good activities with MICs of 4 micrograms/ml or below. IPM and minocycline (MINO) showed the most potent activities with MICs of 0.063 microgram/ml. Also, we investigated year to year changes in the characteristics of patients, their respiratory infectious diseases, and the etiology. Patients' backgrounds were examined for 557 isolates from 449 cases. The examination of age distribution indicated that the proportion of patients with ages over 60 years was 71.0% of all the patients showing a slight increase over that in 1994. Proportions of diagnosed diseases were as follows: Bacterial pneumonia and chronic bronchitis were the most frequent with 35.9% and 30.3% respectively. A limited amount of information is available about the lumenal Ca2+ kinetics of the sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR). Incubation of mag-fura-2AM permitted to incorporate a sufficient amount of the probe into the SR vesicles, as determined by Mn2+ quenching. Rapid changes in the lumenal [Ca2+] ([Ca2+]lum) during Ca2+ uptake and release could be monitored by following the signal derived from the lumenal probe while clamping the extra-vesicular Ca2+ ([Ca2+]ex) at various desired levels with a BAPTA/Ca buffer. Changes in the [Ca2+]lum during uptake and release show the characteristics intrinsic to the SR Ca2+ pump (the [Ca2+]ex-dependence of the activation and inhibition by thapsigargin) and the Ca2+ release channel (blocking by ruthenium red), respectively. A new feature revealed by the [Ca2+]lum measurement is that during the uptake reaction the free [Ca2+]lum showed a significant oscillation. Several pieces of evidence suggest that this is due to some interactions between the Ca2+ pump and lumenal proteins. 相似文献

This study used an intracerebral self-administration paradigm in rats to determine if blockade of GABAA receptors in the ventral tegmental area (VTA) has a reinforcing effect. Rats quickly learned to self-infuse a picrotoxin solution into the anterior VTA; rats discriminated the lever that produced picrotoxin infusions from the lever without consequences; and when the response requirement was increased, rats increased response levels for picrotoxin infusion. The reinforcing effect of picrotoxin was site-specific: Anterior VTA regions supported vigorous self-infusions, but not the posterior VTA, substantia nigra, or lateral hypothalamus. Muscimol, a GABAA agonist, disrupted picrotoxin self-infusion, but bicuculline, a GABAA antagonist, was self-infused into the VTA. The results suggest that blockade of GABAA receptors in the anterior VTA is reinforcing and that functional organization of the GABA systems within the VTA is heterogeneous.
