This paper presents a tunable content-based music retrieval (CBMR) system suitable the for retrieval of music audio clips. The audio clips are represented as extracted feature vectors. The CBMR system is expert-tunable by altering the feature space. The feature space is tuned according to the expert-specified similarity criteria expressed in terms of clusters of similar audio clips. The main goal of tuning the feature space is to improve retrieval performance, since some features may have more impact on perceived similarity than others. The tuning process utilizes our genetic algorithm. The R-tree index for efficient retrieval of audio clips is based on the clustering of feature vectors. For each cluster a minimal bounding rectangle (MBR) is formed, thus providing objects for indexing. Inserting new nodes into the R-tree is efficiently performed because of the chosen Quadratic Split algorithm. Our CBMR system implements the point query and the n-nearest neighbors query with the O(logn) time complexity. Different objective functions based on cluster similarity and dissimilarity measures are used for the genetic algorithm. We have found that all of them have similar impact on the retrieval performance in terms of precision and recall. The paper includes experimental results in measuring retrieval performance, reporting significant improvement over the untuned feature space.  相似文献

Our objective was to compare the effects of controlled atmosphere (CA) and modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) on fruit quality, chilling injury (CI) and pro‐ and antioxidative systems in ‘Blackamber’ Japanese plums. Matured fruit were stored for 5 and 8 weeks at 0–1 °C in normal air, CA‐1 (1% O2 + 3% CO2), CA‐2 (2.5% O2 + 3% CO2) and MAP (~10% O2 and 3.8% CO2). CA was more effective than MAP in retention of flesh firmness and titratable acidity during cold storage. Fruit stored in CA‐1 showed reduced CI and membrane lipid peroxidation after 5 and 8 weeks of cold storage. Low O2 atmospheres appeared to limit the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and their efficient scavenging through the concerted action of superoxide dismutase and peroxidase. The role of ascorbate–glutathione (AsA–GSH) cycle in the regulation of oxidative stress was also studied during and after storage in different atmospheres. In conclusion, optimum CA conditions delayed fruit ripening and CI through augmentation of antioxidative metabolism and suppression of oxidative processes.  相似文献

Development of direct competitive enzyme-linked immunoadsorbent assays (ELISAs) based on polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies raised against 4-n-alkylphenol hapten mimics is described. A strong tendency to recognize 4-nonylphenol (NP) and 4-octylphenol (OP) as a total analyte amount was indicated by cross-reactivity pattern established for two polyclonal antibodies. These antibodies were employed for development of class-selective assays exhibiting IC(50) values around 40 microg.L(-1) for technical 4-NP. Specificity of the monoclonal antibody 4H6 and additional two polyclonal antibodies allowed sensitive detection of linear long-chain forms of 4-n-alkylphenols (4-n-AP). The assays incorporating these antibodies offer a potential for detecting the minor fraction of NP/OP isomer spectrum having IC(50) = 11.5 microg.L(-1) for 4-n-NP. No cross-reactivity interference was indicated for linear alkylbenzene sulfonates and phenolic compounds. To interpret the measured data in terms of analytical equivalents, a reliable relationship between the assay responses and AP content of contaminated samples should be verified and validated.  相似文献

The SFSM is an attractive numerical technique for the buckling analysis of folded-plate structures where general loading regimes and boundary conditions need to be modelled. In implementing splines as interpolation functions in the longitudinal direction of the strip, amended splines have been used conventionally to model the variety of end conditions that may occur. These amended splines are fairly difficult to implement, particularly so if internal restraints are also to be specified. A simple technique for replacing the specification of dedicated amended splines is presented in this paper. The method is then employed to study the local buckling of flat plates under longitudinally and transversely varying compression and bending with different boundary conditions at the ends.  相似文献

Under environmental conditions, wild birds can be exposed to multiple stressors including natural toxins, anthropogenic pollutants and infectious agents at the same time.This experimental study was successful in testing the hypothesis that adverse effects of cyanotoxins, heavy metals and a non-pathogenic immunological challenge combine to enhance avian toxicity. Mortality occurred in combined exposures to naturally occurring cyanobacterial biomass and lead shots, lead shots and Newcastle vaccination as well as in single lead shot exposure. Mostly acute effects around day 10 were observed. On day 30 of exposure, there were no differences in the liver accumulation of lead in single and combined exposure groups. Interestingly, liver microcystin levels were elevated in birds co-exposed to cyanobacterial biomass together with lead or lead and the Newcastle virus. Significant differences in body weights between all Pb-exposed and Pb-non-exposed birds were found on days 10 and 20. Single exposure to cyanobacterial biomass resulted in hepatic vacuolar dystrophy, whereas co-exposure with lead led to more severe granular dystrophy. Haematological changes were associated with lead exposure, in particular. Biochemical analysis revealed a decrease in glucose and an increase in lactate dehydrogenase in single and combined cyanobacterial and lead exposures, which also showed a decreased antibody response to vaccination.The combined exposure of experimental birds to sub-lethal doses of individual stressors is ecologically realistic. It brings together new pieces of knowledge on avian health. In light of this study, investigators of wild bird die-offs should be circumspect when evaluating findings of low concentrations of contaminants that would not result in mortality on a separate basis. As such it has implications for wildlife biologists, veterinarians and conservationists of avian biodiversity.  相似文献

There is a demand for feasible methodologies that can increase/maintain the levels of health-promoting phytochemicals in horticultural produce, due to strong evidence that these compounds can reduce risk of chronic diseases. Mango (Mangifera indica L.), ranks fifth among the most cultivated fruit crops in the world, is naturally rich in phytochemicals such as lupeol, mangiferin and phenolic acids (e.g. gallic acid, chlorogenic acid and vanillic acid). Yet, there is still much scope for up-regulating the levels of these compounds in mango fruit through manipulation of different preharvest and postharvest practices that affect their biosynthesis and degradation. The process of ripening, harvest maturity, physical and chemical elicitor treatments such as low temperature stress, methyl jasmonate (MeJA), salicylic acid (SA) and nitric oxide (NO) and the availability of enzyme cofactors (Mg2+, Mn2+ and Fe2+) required in terpenoid biosynthesis were identified as potential determinants of the concentration of health-promoting compounds in mango fruit. The effectiveness of these preharvest and postharvest approaches in regulating the levels of lupeol, mangiferin and phenolic acids in the pulp and peel of mango fruit will be discussed. In general spray application of 0.2% iron(II) sulphate (FeSO4) 30 days before harvest, harvest at sprung stage, storage of mature green fruit at 5 °C for 12 days prior to ripening, fumigation of mature green fruit with 10−5 mol L−1 and/or 10−4 mol L−1 MeJA for 24 h or 20 and/or 40 µL L−1 NO for 2 h upregulate the levels of lupeol, mangiferin and phenolic acids in pulp and peel of ripe mango fruit. © 2019 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

The rise in the complexity of science, to which some attribute this growth in multiple authorship, is reflected in the increasing complexity of this simple task over that forty year period. Systemic Sclerosis (SSc) is a chronic autoimmune disease with high morbidity and mortality. Autologous Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (AHSCT) is the best therapeutic option for rapidly progressive SSc, allowing increased survival with regression of skin and lung fibrosis. The immune determinants of the clinical response after AHSCT have yet to be well characterized. In particular, the pivotal role of the Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) system is not well understood, including the role of non-classical immuno-modulatory HLA-E and HLA-G molecules in developing tolerance and the role of Natural Killer cells (NK) in the immunomodulation processes. We retrospectively tested whether the genetic and/or circulating expression of the non-classical HLA-E and HLA-G loci, as well as the imputed classical HLA determinants of HLA-E expression, influence the observed clinical response to AHSCT at 12- and 24-month follow-up. In a phenotypically well-defined sample of 46 SSc patients classified as clinical responders or non-responders, we performed HLA genotyping using next-generation sequencing and circulating levels of HLA-G and quantified HLA-E soluble isoforms by ELISA. The -21HLA-B leader peptide dimorphism and the differential expression level of HLA-A and HLA-C alleles were imputed. We observed a strong trend towards better clinical response in HLA-E*01:03 or HLA-G 14bp Del allele carriers, which are known to be associated with high expression of the corresponding molecules. At 12-month post-AHSCT follow-up, higher circulating levels of soluble HLA-E were associated with higher values of modified Rodnan Skin Score (mRSS) (p = 0.0275), a proxy of disease severity. In the non-responder group, the majority of patients carried a double dose of the HLA-B Threonine leader peptide, suggesting a non-efficient inhibitory effect of the HLA-E molecules. We did not find any correlation between the soluble HLA-G levels and the observed clinical response after AHSCT. High imputed expression levels of HLA-C alleles, reflecting more efficient NK cell inhibition, correlated with low values of the mRSS 3 months after AHSCT (p = 0.0087). This first pilot analysis of HLA-E and HLA-G immuno-modulatory molecules suggests that efficient inhibition of NK cells contributes to clinical response after AHSCT for SSc. Further studies are warranted in larger patient cohorts to confirm our results.  相似文献

The study presents the epidemiological features of patients treated with renal replacement therapy (RRT) in Serbia from 1997 to 2009 and compares the results of hemodialysis treatment in 1999 and 2009. Epidemiological data were obtained from the National Registry of RRT patients and data on hemodialysis treatment from special surveys conducted in 1999 and 2009. Within the period 1997–2009 the incidence of patients on RRT increased from 108 to 179 per million population (pmp), prevalence rose from 435 to 699 pmp, while mortality rate fell from 20.7% to 16.7%. The frequency of patients with glomerulonephritis decreased, while that of patients with diabetes and hypertensive nephropathy increased. In late 2009 there were 5208 patients receiving RRT in Serbia. Within the examined period new hemodialysis and reverse osmosis equipment were purchased, high‐flux dialyzers with synthetic membranes were increasingly used and the number of patients receiving hemodiafiltration increased to 17.6%. Kt/V greater than 1.2 was recorded in 16% of the patients in 1999 but 52% in 2009. Options for correction of anemia and mineral disorders have also improved. The percentage of patients with HbsAg (13.8% vs. 4.8%) as well as anti‐hepatitis C virus antibodies positive patients (23.2% vs. 12.7%) was significantly lower in 2009 than in 1999. Both the incidence and prevalence of RRT patients in Serbia are rising continuously, while the mortality rate is falling. More favorable conditions for dialysis treatment have brought about significant improvement in the results over the last 10 years.  相似文献
