Microwave-Assisted Reaction Sintering of Bismuth Titanate-Based Ceramics   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Bismuth titanate-based ceramics, pure and doped with 5 mol% WO3, were prepared by reaction-sintering using a microwave oven. High densities, ≥96% of theoretical density were achieved with very short thermal treatments, with soaking time ranging from 5 to 15 min. Relatively small platelet-like grains were formed, and microstructure seemed not to be strongly affected by doping nor soaking time. Electrical measurements were performed and, as expected, a decrease of electrical conductivity was observed in WO3-doped materials. The results of reaction-sintered samples, both conventional as well as microwave sintered, are compared with those of samples prepared with previously calcined powders and sintered using microwaves as well as a conventional electric furnace.  相似文献

Propionibacterium acnes is often considered to be a contaminant but it has also been found to be the principal pathogen in serious infections. P. acnes is a rare cause of infective endocarditis. It has been suggested that aortic root abscesses are caused by bacteria that are particularly virulent. The strongest risk factor for serious infections by this bacteria is the presence of foreign bodies. A case is presented in which endocarditis of a native aortic valve caused by P. acnes was associated with an aortic root abscess. Transesophageal echocardiography is particularly helpful in the diagnosis of this severe complication of infective endocarditis. The literature for P. acnes endocarditis is reviewed.  相似文献

Analysis of the indications for transplantectomy and its complications over a 12-year period. Over a total of 159 failure grafts, we performed 53 transplantectomies (33.3%). The percentage of complications was 16.9%. Three patients died (5.6%) during the more or less immediate post-operative period. In our experience, consistent and prolonged maintenance of immunosuppression should avoid the need for transplantectomy in a high percentage of grafts. Only 15 transplantectomies were made on 104 failure grafts after 6 months (14.4%). Our short but successful experience with embolization of 2 rejected grafts confirms the validity of this conservative alternative versus conventional surgical transplantectomy in selected cases.  相似文献

Capillary morphogenesis involves cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions. Proteases elaborated by capillary cells modify the extracellular matrix (ECM) to facilitate capillary tube formation. Previously, we detected the presence of fibronectin fragments (Fn-f) associated with the proform of matrix metalloprotease-2 (MMP-2) in conditioned medium of human retinal endothelial cells (HRECs). Association of this fragment to latent MMP-2 prevented autocatalytic activation of MMP-2, suggesting a modulatory role of Fn-f in MMP-2 activation. In this report, we examined the potential role of Fn-f on two processes involved in angiogenesis, proliferation and migration of vascular cells. The effects of Fn-f on proliferation were determined by DNA synthesis and cell counts. Their effects on migration were assessed using modified Boyden chambers. Seven Fn-f were tested on vascular cell migration and/or proliferation. Three Fn-f induced migration. Fn-f of 30-kDa and 120-kDa size positively affected proliferation of microvascular cells but not macrovascular cells. A 45-kDa gelatin binding fragment of Fn inhibited HREC proliferation but stimulated pericyte and smooth muscle cell proliferation. The potency of these fragments exceeded that of the known angiogenic growth factor, basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), on HREC migration. ECM components such as fibronectin may influence capillary morphogenesis by the generation of fragments that can modulate proliferation, migration, and protease activation. In the setting of diabetes, excess Fn is generated and is available for degradation. Thus, the production of Fn-f may be specifically relevant to the angiogenesis observed in proliferative diabetic retinopathy.  相似文献

The C-shaped time-temperature-transformation curves (T-T-T curves) of cristobalite formation and the L-shaped T-T-T curves of α-alumina reaction were established for a high-purity kaolinite-α-alumina mixture during heating. The results revealed that cristobalite formation in kaolinite was retarded by the presence of α-alumina between 1250° and 1350°C and was totally prohibited above 1380°C due to the reaction of kaolinite with α-alumina to form secondary mullite. The reaction of α-alumina with kaolinite was initiated at about 1250°C. It became quite extensive above 1380°C and was extremely fast at 1600°C and above, indicating the strong effect of the eutectic liquid formation at ∼1587°C in silica-alumina. The effectiveness of the established T-T-T curves was demonstrated and discussed.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to show how the hybridization of a multi-objective evolutionary algorithm (MOEA) and a local search method based on the use of rough set theory is a viable alternative to obtain a robust algorithm able to solve difficult constrained multi-objective optimization problems at a moderate computational cost. This paper extends a previously published MOEA [Hernández-Díaz AG, Santana-Quintero LV, Coello Coello C, Caballero R, Molina J. A new proposal for multi-objective optimization using differential evolution and rough set theory. In: 2006 genetic and evolutionary computation conference (GECCO’2006). Seattle, Washington, USA: ACM Press; July 2006], which was limited to unconstrained multi-objective optimization problems. Here, the main idea is to use this sort of hybrid approach to approximate the Pareto front of a constrained multi-objective optimization problem while performing a relatively low number of fitness function evaluations. Since in real-world problems the cost of evaluating the objective functions is the most significant, our underlying assumption is that, by aiming to minimize the number of such evaluations, our MOEA can be considered efficient. As in its previous version, our hybrid approach operates in two stages: in the first one, a multi-objective version of differential evolution is used to generate an initial approximation of the Pareto front. Then, in the second stage, rough set theory is used to improve the spread and quality of this initial approximation. To assess the performance of our proposed approach, we adopt, on the one hand, a set of standard bi-objective constrained test problems and, on the other hand, a large real-world problem with eight objective functions and 160 decision variables. The first set of problems are solved performing 10,000 fitness function evaluations, which is a competitive value compared to the number of evaluations previously reported in the specialized literature for such problems. The real-world problem is solved performing 250,000 fitness function evaluations, mainly because of its high dimensionality. Our results are compared with respect to those generated by NSGA-II, which is a MOEA representative of the state-of-the-art in the area.  相似文献

This paper examines different technologies that can be applied in the design and development of a ground control station for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) equipped with multimodal interfaces. Multimodal technologies employ multiple sensory channels/modalities for information transmission as well as for system control. Examples of these technologies could be haptic feedback, head tracking, auditory information (3D audio), voice control, tactile displays, etc. The applicability and benefits of those technologies is analyzed for a task consisting in the acknowledgement of alerts in an UAV ground control station composed by three screens and managed by a single operator. For this purpose, several experiments were conducted with a group of individuals using different combinations of modal conditions (visual, aural and tactile).  相似文献

This paper presents a new approach for vision-based UAV localization, using mosaics as environment representations. Inter-image motions are used to estimate the motion of the UAV. Online mosaicking is applied to reduce the impact of the accumulative errors in UAV position estimation. A new method to build an stochastic mosaic given the image-to-image homographies is detailed. The mosaic consists of a network of inter-image relations, and is used to create a consistent view of the environment of the UAV and hence, to detect the drift in position estimation by using the mosaic as a resource. The technique could be called simultaneous localization and mosaicking. This technique is specially suitable for monitoring and surveillance tasks in which the UAV will repeatedly cover the same area. The paper also shows experimental results with real UAVs where the benefits of the proposed method are evident.  相似文献
