Anwendung moderner Beschichtungs‐ technologien – Quo Vadis 2004?. Application of Coatings for Tolling ‐ Quo Vadis 2004?

Every third patent dealing with cutting tool applications addresses the subject of coatings. Not only that, coatings are probably the most important motive force for further developments in the field of manufacturing engineering. They affect the tool efficiency significantly and improve it considerably [1], [12]. The following article does not review the state‐of‐the‐art in coating technology, but addresses questions, problems, and developments dealing with practical applications. Within a short time stressed users should get some answers to most important questions.

一、柔性对产品的贡献(针对用户的应用) 在第一个20年中(1980~2000),由于涂层装置本身的柔性有限,涂层刀具的涂层并未真正针对实际应用需求而实现专用,而且也没想那么做.大部分涂层制造商大型刀具制造企业仅限于在选择一些标准化的涂层,以扩大其应用范围.这种情况特别适用于大量生产,也就是将很多刀具放在大型炉内进行涂层加工,而且销售利润很高.
