Recent research efforts indicated that directional potential drop (PD) measurements could be exploited for in-situ creep monitoring. The present work investigates the sensitivity of such measurements with a square-electrode configuration to geometrical and material variations caused by creep. This measurement technique is based on a modification of the conventional PD technique as it measures simultaneously two resistance values in orthogonal directions. Under uniaxial stress condition, the ratio of the lateral and axial resistances is roughly proportional to the applied strain. Experimental tests showed that small anisotropic changes in the resistance ratio caused by directional effects of creep can be distinguished from potentially far larger isotropic changes caused by non-directional reversible and irreversible thermal effects. The sensitivity of the square-electrode PD sensor to geometrical and material variations was analyzed separately and the analytical predictions were validated by experimental tests in both cases. The directional PD technique was found to exhibit high sensitivity that allows the detection of elastic and plastic strains as low as 0.05%. Additional experimental results from an accelerated 400-hour creep test are presented to demonstrate the feasibility of this technique to monitor creep degradation in 304 stainless steel at 600 °C.  相似文献

A triple catalytic system designed for asymmetric dihydroxylation of olefins, composed of NMM and two divergent heterogeneous catalysts, titanium silicalite and silica gel‐supported 1,4‐bis(9‐O‐dihydroquinidinyl)phthalazine [SGS‐(DHQD)2PHAL)]‐OsO4 complex relays the transport of two electrons from olefin to H2O2 used as a terminal oxidant to provide chiral diols with good yields and high enantiomeric excesses in a single pot.  相似文献

Heterogeneous bifunctional catalysts consisting of palladate–osmate and osmate–tungstate developed by the ion exchange on quaternary ammonium salts covalently bound to resin, and their homogeneous bimetallic analogs are evaluated for the synthesis of chiral vicinal diols. The heterogeneous bifunctional catalyst (resin-PdOs) and its homogeneous analog are used in the tandem Heck-asymmetric dihydroxylation (AD) to afford diols with excellent yields and enantiomeric excesses (ee's) in the presence of various co-oxidants. The other bifunctional catalyst (resin-OsW) and its homogeneous analog are used in a simultaneous asymmetric dihydroxylation-N-oxidation of a wide range of olefins to obtain chiral vicinal diols with higher yields and ee's using H2O2 as terminal oxidant. The bifunctional resin catalysts are recovered quantitatively by a simple filtration and reused for a number of cycles with consistent activity.  相似文献

In this experimental investigation a solar assisted open adsorption cooling system has been designed and tested under the local weather conditions of Basrah, Iraq. Data were obtained from June to September, inclusive, 1984. Tests were carried out hourly with a directly supply of hot air from a corrugated absorber solar air heater for regeneration. Also, tests were conducted at a constant regeneration temperature of 70°C using auxiliary heat. Adsorption was carried out by a rotary disk of silica gel. Three mass flow rates of process air were employed without recirculation. The performance of the solar air heater was obtained for both seasons, and the instantaneous efficiency was evaluated experimentally and analytically with results compared. Daily and seasonal coefficients of performance were obtained for the cooling system for the mass flow rates employed. A maximum seasonal average value of 2.8 was obtained for a mass flow rate of 0.075 kg/s. The system performance improved with higher regeneration temperature, higher process air mass flow rate and dry weather. It was possible to generate a cool supply of air at satisfactory conditions using solar energy only for all clear days under the local weather conditions.  相似文献

This paper presents NO2 sensing properties of ZnO thin films grown onto tubular Pyrex substrate using the spray pyrolysis method. The sensor response was found to depend essentially on four parameters: chemical composition, structure, morphology and operating temperature. The crystallinity and morphology of the as-preapred films were analyzed using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). The sensing properties of ZnO toward NO2 were investigated at different operating temperatures and NO2 concentrations. Optimization of the preparation conditions show that ZnO thin film deposited during 15 min exhibit the highest sensitivity with fast response and recovery time.  相似文献

Adsorption experiments for three commercial metal oxide nanoparticles (SiO2, Al2O3, and MgO) were carried out to examine the effect of each nanoparticle on asphaltene inhibition. The results are reported on the basis of adsorption per mass of adsorbent. The adsorption data were used in four isotherm adsorption models (Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin, and Dubinin-Radushkevich models) for better understanding of adsorption mechanisms. Among the models, Dubinin-Radushkevich produced better prediction. According to the obtained data, the adsorption affinity toward asphaltene was in the following order: SiO2 > MgO > Al2O3. Influence of the main factors such as surface chemistry and specific surface area shows significant effect on the amount of adsorption. It was found that the multilayer adsorption and physisorption mechanism plays an important role in asphaltene adsorption, which was confirmed by Freundlich, Temkin, and Dubinin-Radushkevich models.  相似文献

Asymmetric dihydroxylation of aliphatic olefins to chiral diols with good yields and ees by a heterogeneous Resin‐OsO4 catalyst using ferricyanide as cooxidant is disclosed for the first time.
