The role of oxygen deficiency in Y1Ba2Cu3O7 ? μ ceramics has been investigated by differential thermal analysis (DTA), differential thermogravimetry (DTG), linear thermal expansion (LTE), and by soft x-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (SXFS). Three peptides modelling a highly potent, 35-residue chymotrypsininhibitor (Schistocerca gregaria chymotrypsin inhibitor) weredesigned and synthesized by convergent peptide synthesis. Foreach model peptide, the inhibitory constant (Ki) on chymotrypsinand the solution structure were determined. In addition, moleculardynamics calculations were performed for all of them. Two modelscontaining approximately half of the parent inhibitor (17 of35 residues) were designed and subsequently found to have nosubstantial inhibitory activity (Ki values in the mM range).The third model composed of 24 amino acid residues proved tobe an effective (Ki 10–7) inhibitor of bovine chymotrypsin.Both the solution structure properties determined by NMR spectroscopyand the dynamic behaviour of the latter model system are comparableto the native inhibitor. In contrast, the structure and dynamicsof the first two related model peptides show characteristicdifferences. We suggest that the conformation and flexibilityof the modelled protease inhibitor are crucial for its biologicalefficiency. Moreover, the structural and dynamic features ofthe binding loop (28–33) and those of the rest of themolecule appear to be interdependent. The aim of the present study was to compare different rape varieties. For this purpose oil from six different varieties of rapeseeds was cold pressed under laboratory conditions. In the obtained rapeseed oils the fatty acids composition and minor components, characteristic values (acid value; AV and TOTOX), oxidative stability (DSC test), and volatiles were determined and a sensory evaluation was carried out. The highest oxidative stability was found for oil from sample 5 (IP = 158 min), which also has the lowest amount of C18:3 (7.8%), chlorophylls (0.083 mg/kg), and metals (Cu2+ 0.02 mg/kg and Fe2+ 0.08 mg/kg). This oil has also the lowest AV (0.17 mg KOH/g), which may be related to the lowest moisture content of the seeds prior to extraction. It was characterized by the highest rapeseed flavor intensity. The lowest induction period was observed for samples 3 and 6 (100 min). Although sample 3 had the same low level of metals as sample 5 and the highest concentration of tocopherols (635 mg/kg), PUFA (33.9%), and AV (1.37 mg KOH/g) it also had the lowest intensity of rapeseed flavor among the analyzed oils. Sample 6, despite its low percentage of PUFA (24.7%), conjugated diens and triens, and the lowest content of total volatiles (0.4Vs), had the highest concentration of metals (Cu2+ 0.04 mg/kg and Fe2+ 0.34 mg/kg).  相似文献

The analytical and numerical procedures used in calculation of e?-He elastic scattering phase shifts in the Generalized Random Phase Approximation (GRPA) and e?-He inelastic cross sections in the Random Phase Approximation (RPA) are presented. The pertinent equations are first written in general form and analyzed into spin and angular momentum variables. In both elastic and inelastic work the transition density matrix was represented on a basis. Finite basis sets were also used to construct the static-exchange and polarization parts of the optical potential. The elastic scattering phase shifts were then evaluated numerically. In the inelastic work all calculations were done numerically. As an illustration of the usefulness of these methods, some typical results and computational times are given.  相似文献

On the structure of optimal entropy-constrained scalar quantizers   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
The nearest neighbor condition implies that when searching for a mean-square optimal fixed-rate quantizer it is enough to consider the class of regular quantizers, i.e., quantizers having convex cells and codepoints which lie inside the associated cells. In contrast, quantizer regularity can preclude optimality in entropy-constrained quantization. This can be seen by exhibiting a simple discrete scalar source for which the mean-square optimal entropy-constrained scalar quantizer (ECSQ) has disconnected (and hence nonconvex) cells at certain rates. In this work, new results concerning the structure and existence of optimal ECSQs are presented. One main result shows that for continuous sources and distortion measures of the form d(x,y)=ρ(|x-y|), where ρ is a nondecreasing convex function, any finite-level ECSQ can be "regularized" so that the resulting regular quantizer has the same entropy and equal or less distortion. Regarding the existence of optimal ECSQs, we prove that under rather general conditions there exists an "almost regular" optimal ECSQ for any entropy constraint. Developments in Continuous Time of Flight (CTOF) mass spectrometry which uses a continuously operating ion source and a special modulation demodulation technique are presented. The expected advantages are higher sensitivity and minor space charge limitations. The present article discusses the solution of the problems of beam modulation in conjunction with the appearance of higher harmonic ghost peaks in the Time Of Flight spectrum, as well as the construction of the modulator device in order to allow modulation frequencies high enough for satisfactory resolution. The objective of the experimental set-up is to demonstrate the operation of this novel measuring principle and the effectiveness of the developments. The CTOF method is far less limited by physics than Pulsed Time of Flight (PTOF) techniques. By investing the same amount of effort to both methods, CTOF will likely outperform PTOF in most parameters.  相似文献

Two thin-film microelectrode arrays with integrated circuitry have been developed for extracellular neural recording in behaving animals. An eight-site probe for simultaneous neural recording and stimulation has been designed that includes on-chip amplifiers that can be individually bypassed, allowing direct access to the iridium sites for electrical stimulation. The on-probe amplifiers have a gain of 38.9 dB, an upper-cutoff frequency of 9.9 kHz, and an input-referred noise of 9.2 microV rms integrated from 100 Hz to 10 kHz. The low-frequency cutoff of the amplifier is tunable to allow the recording of field potentials and minimize stimulus artifact. The amplifier consumes 68 microW from +/- 1.5 V supplies and occupies 0.177 mm2 in 3 microm features. In vivo recordings have shown that the preamplifiers can record single-unit activity 1 ms after the onset of stimulation on sites as close as 20 microm to the stimulating electrode. A second neural recording array has been developed which multiplexes 32 neural signals onto four output data leads. Providing gain on this array eliminates the need for bulky headmounted circuitry and reduces motion artifacts. The time-division multiplexing circuitry has crosstalk between consecutive channels of less than 6% at a sample rate of 20 kHz per channel. Amplified, time-division-multiplexed multichannel neural recording allows the large-scale recording of neuronal activity in freely behaving small animals with minimum number of interconnect leads.  相似文献

Direct focused-ion-beam writing is presented as an enabling technology for realizing functional spin-wave devices of high complexity, and demonstrate its potential by optically-inspired designs. It is shown that ion-beam irradiation changes the characteristics of yttrium iron garnet films on a submicron scale in a highly controlled way, allowing one to engineer the magnonic index of refraction adapted to desired applications. This technique does not physically remove material, and allows rapid fabrication of high-quality architectures of modified magnetization in magnonic media with minimal edge damage (compared to more common removal techniques such as etching or milling). By experimentally showing magnonic versions of a number of optical devices (lenses, gratings, Fourier-domain processors) this technology is envisioned as the gateway to building magnonic computing devices that rival their optical counterparts in their complexity and computational power.  相似文献

The multipulse excimer laser-reactive ablation of a titanium target in nitrogen has been found to result in a total pressure of the ambient gas in the range 7–70 bar, in the deposition on to a silicon collector surface of high-purity f c c TiN thin films. These films were hard and adherent to substrate. The deposition rate was 0.03–0.05 nm per pulse for an incident laser fluence of 5 J cm–2. For a lower gas pressure of a few microbars the deposits were amorphized with an excess of titanium. For a nitrogen pressure larger than 100 bar, the layers were contaminated with oxides. The oxides became more abundant with further increase in the gas pressure, and the deposited layer consisted of oxides only when the pressure reached several millibars.  相似文献
