In recent years, the popularity and capabilities of the iPad®, Apple’s tablet computer, have prompted educational technology advocates and policy makers to evaluate its potential in classrooms. However, there have been few studies examining the tangible user interface (TUI, in which the user manipulates the touchscreen of the device with their fingers), one of the most significant features of the iPad in comparison to previous mobile devices. Therefore, in this paper, the research team examined this interface specifically for its potential in terms of usability with input interaction for young learners. A case study was conducted at three international schools in Hong Kong to explore the impact of the iPad’s TUI on the student learning experience. A mixed-method approach was taken, and 13 observations and 10 interviews were conducted to collect data. With statistical analyses, the amount of students seeking learning support behavior (ASSLS) at the schools employing iPads was compared with that at the school using traditional laptops. Evidence emerged to support the assumption that the TUI on the iPad may contribute to reducing the ASSLS as well as enhancing student engagement and collaboration in class. Implications of the findings in terms of usability, engagement, interaction, practice, and future research are discussed. 相似文献

Micro pore optics (MPO) as an X-ray imaging system is perfectly suited for the applications in space telescopes due to its light-weight and high-resolution properties. We report the fabrication of MPO samples by LIGA process focusing on its sidewall surface used as mirrors for X-ray reflection. An intermediate mask is fabricated and used to obtain the working mask in order to avoid the UV exposure to a very thick photo resist layer. Around 400 μm-thick nickel MPO plate is obtained with the aspect ratio of the square pore and sidewall of 8 and 32, respectively. The root mean square roughness of the sidewall surface is below 10 nm in a 5 × 5 μm2 region. Some striations are found on the sidewall surface originating from the jagged edge of the chromium coating on the UV mask. 相似文献

90年代以来,钢帘线生产技术有了长足进步,检测技术也随之发展。钢帘线新结构、新品种层出不穷,刚度和强度大大提高,超高强度钢帘线单丝强度达3900MPa;自动化水平和生产效率进一步提高,交流变频和PLC技术已普遍应用,自动更换工字轮的水箱拉丝机已相当完善,热处理电镀生产线的DV值普遍提高到60~70,甚至更高;生产规模进一步扩大,万吨级以下的钢帘线厂难以生存。新版本的《轮胎钢帘线国际统一测试方法》中新增了有关钢帘线的术语、平直度、伸长率、弹性、镀层质量及成分等测试项目和方法。 相似文献

ZnO is a wide‐bandgap (3.37 eV at room temperature) oxide semiconductor that is attractive for its great potential in short‐wavelength optoelectronic devices, in which high quality films and heterostructures are essential for high performance. In this study, controlled growth of ZnO‐based thin films and heterostructures by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) is demonstrated on different substrates with emphasis on interface engineering. It is revealed that ultrathin AlN or MgO interfacial layers play a key role in establishing structural and chemical compatibility between ZnO and substrates. Furthermore, a quasi‐homo buffer is introduced prior to growth of a wurtzite MgZnO epilayer to suppress the phase segregation of rock‐salt MgO, achieving wide‐range bandgap tuning from 3.3 to 4.55 eV. Finally, a visible‐blind UV detector exploiting a double heterojunction of n‐ZnO/insulator‐MgO/p‐Si and a solar‐blind UV detector using MgZnO as an active layer are fabricated by using the growth techniques discussed here. 相似文献
