Harvesting systems capable of transforming unused environmental energy into useful electrical energy have been extensively studied for the last two decades. The recent development of electrostrictive polymers has generated new opportunities for harvesting energy. The contribution of this study lies in the design and validation of electrostrictive polymer- based harvesters able to deliver dc output voltage to the load terminal, making the practical application of such material for self-powered devices much more realistic. Theoretical analysis supported by experimental investigations showed that an energy harvesting module with ac-to-dc conversion allows scavenging power up to 7 μW using a bias electric field of 10 V/μm and a transverse strain of 0.2%. This represents a power density of 280 μW/cm(3) at 100 Hz, which is much higher than the corresponding values of most piezo-based harvesters.  相似文献

Crosslinking and processing characteristics of polyethylenes (PEs) with different molecular architectures, namely high‐density polyethylene (HDPE), linear low‐density polyethylene (LLDPE), and low‐density polyethylene (LDPE), were studied with regard to the effects of peroxide modifications and coolant flow rates. Dicumyl peroxide (DCP) and di‐tert‐butyl peroxide (DTBP) were used as free‐radical inducers for crosslinking the PEs. The characteristics of interest included normalized gel content, real‐time temperature profiles and their cooling rates, exothermic period, crystallinity level, crystallization temperature, and heat distortion temperature. The experiments showed that LDPE exhibited the highest normalized gel content. The real‐time cooling rates, taken from the temperature profiles for all PEs before the crystallization region, were greater than those after the crystallization region. The cooling rate of the PEs increased with the presence of DCP, whereas the crystallization temperature of the PEs was lowered. The HDPE appeared to show the longest exothermic period as compared with those of the LLDPE and LDPE. The exothermic period showed an increase with increasing coolant flow rate, but it was decreased by the use of DCP. As for the effect of peroxide type, the gel content and cooling rate of the PE crosslinked by DCP were higher than those for the PE crosslinked by DTBP. The DTBP was the more effective peroxide for introducing crosslinks and simultaneously maintaining the crystallization behavior of the PE. J. VINYL ADDIT. Drying characteristics of the Shiitake mushroom and Jinda chili, a commonly grown variety in the Northeast of Thailand, was investigated under varying conditions of the drying temperatures (50, 55, 60 and 65 °C) and the vacuum pressures (0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4 bar) in a new design of a vacuum heat pump dryer. Nine different thin layer mathematical drying models were compared according to their correlation coefficient, reduced chi-square and root mean square error to estimate vacuum heat pump drying curves. The result indicates that the Midilli model can present better predictions than the others. The constants and coefficients of this model could be explained by the effect of the drying temperature and the drying pressure. The drying temperature and pressure significantly affects color degradation (probability P < 0.05). Drying temperature has little effects on rehydration capacity (probability P > 0.05). Rehydration capacity notably decreases with an increase in the vacuum pressure.  相似文献

N,N-bis(2-hydroxybenzyl)alkylamines, benzoxazine dimers, are the major product produced from benzoxazine monomers on mono-functional phenol by the one step ring opening reaction. Due to the metal responsive property of benzoxazine dimers, in this present work, N,N-bis(5-methyl-2-hydroxybenzyl)methylamine (MMD), N,N-bis (5-ethyl-2-hydroxybenzyl)methylamine (EMD), and N,N-bis(5-methoxy-2-hydroxybenzyl) methyl amine (MeMD), are considered as novel ligands for rare earth metal ion, such as cerium(III) ion. The complex formed when the clear and colorless solutions of cerium nitrate and benzoxazine dimers were mixed, results in a brown colored solution. The metal-ligand ratios determined by the molar ratio and the Job's methods were found to be in a ratio of 1:6. To clarify the evidence of the complex formation mechanism, the interactions among protons in benzoxazine dimers both prior to and after the formation of complexes were determined by means of (1)H-NMR, 2D-NMR and a computational simulation. The single phase ceria (CeO(2)) was successfully prepared by thermal decomposition of the Ce(III)-benzoxazine dimer complexes at 600 °C for 2 h, was then characterized using XRD. In addition, the ceria powder investigated by TEM is spherical with an average diameter of 20 nm.  相似文献

Gadolinia doped ceria (GDC) powders with different gadolinium contents were successfully prepared by the thermal decomposition of ceria complexes. All the calcined powder samples were found to be ceria-based solid-solutions having a fluorite-type structure. The powders were cold-isostatically pressed and sintered in air at 1500 °C for 5 h to attain a sintered density of about 90% of its theoretical value. The electrical conductivity of the GDC pellets in air was studied as a function of temperature in the 225–700 °C range, by using two-probe electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements. The highest total conductivity (σ600 °C = 0.025 S/cm) was found for the Ce0.85Gd0.15O1.925 composition.  相似文献

Gold nanoparticles were successfully deposited on FTO/WO3/BiVO4 electrode surface by means of electrolysis of AuCl4 ions. The composite films were characterized by SEM, XPS and XRD techniques. An increase in photocurrent and a negative shift of onset potential for water oxidation were observed upon modification of the electrode surface with the Au particles. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy was used to confirm the acceleration of charge transfer process by Au deposition at the electrode surface. The photocurrent action spectrum did not correlate with the plasmonic absorbance of Au nanoparticles at 560 nm, suggesting that the Au nanoparticles increased charge separation without undergoing a plasmon resonance effect under visible light irradiation.  相似文献

Binary solid-solutions of the (1 ? x)Ba(Zr0.07Ti0.93)O3xBa(Fe0.5Nb0.5O3) system, with 0.1  x  0.9,were fabricated via a solid-state processing technique. X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that all samples exhibited a single perovskite phase. The BaFe0.5Nb0.5O3 also promoted densification and grain growth of the system. Dielectric measurements showed that all samples displayed a relaxor like behavior. The x = 0.1 sample presented a dielectric-frequency and temperature with low loss tangent (<0.07 at 10 kHz). For x > 0.2 samples, the dielectric data showed a broad dielectric constant–temperature curve with a giant dielectric characteristic. In addition, a high dielectric constant > 50,000 (at 10 kHz and temperature > 150 °C) was observed for the x = 0.9 sample.  相似文献

A coupled WO3/BiVO4 thin film has been deposited on FTO substrate by a spin coating method from precursor solutions. The composite films were characterized by AFM, SEM, XPS and XRD techniques. The incident photon to current efficiency (IPCE) of BiVO4 electrode was increased by 10 times when a WO3 film was layered between the BiVO4 layer and the FTO substrate. The enhanced performance of WO3/BiVO4 composite film electrode is mainly ascribed to the effective electron-hole separations at the semiconductor heterojunction. A schematic mechanism of charge transfer was proposed to explain the photocurrent enhancement for the WO3/BiVO4 electrode surface.  相似文献
