A simple template‐free high‐temperature evaporation method was developed for the growth of crystalline Si microtubes for the first time. As‐grown Si microtubes were characterized using X‐ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and room‐temperature photoluminescence. The lengths of the Si tubes can reach several hundreds of micrometers; some of them have lengths on the order of millimeters. Each tube has a uniform outer diameter along its entire length, and the typical outer diameter is ≈ 2–3 μm. Most of the tubes have a wall thickness of ≈ 400–500 nm, though a considerable number of them exhibit a very thin wall thickness of ≈ 50 nm. Room‐temperature photoluminescence measurement shows the as‐synthesized Si microtubes have two strong emission peaks centered at ≈ 589 nm and ≈ 617 nm and a weak emission peak centered at ≈ 455 nm. A possible mechanism for the formation of these Si tubes is proposed. We believe that the present discovery of the crystalline Si microtubes will promote further experimental studies on their physical properties and smart applications.  相似文献

Various multi-walled nanotubes in the B–C–N system are thoroughly investigated using a JEOL-3100FEF high-resolution field emission transmission electron microscope operating at 300 kV and equipped with an in-column built Omega filter. Spatially-resolved B, C and N elemental maps of the nanotubes are constructed. It is realized that a wide variety of tubular arrays composed of B, C and N atoms may exist in the system. Sandwich-like BN-rich and C-rich alternating tubular shells, graphitic C layers inside and outside of pure BN shells induced either by surface contamination, or electron beam irradiation, separation of C-rich and BN-rich tubes and/or BN particles within tubular bunches may take place. One should carefully take these effects into account while analyzing nanotube physical properties, e.g., electrical or optical, rather than simply rely on electron energy loss spectra typically collected from B, C and N containing nanostructures as a whole. Striking dependence of an individual nanotube electrical conductivity on tubular shell chemistry is demonstrated using IV curve recording in an atomic force microscope.  相似文献

ABSTRACT:  Eriocitrin (eriodictyol 7- O -β-rutinoside) is the main flavonoid in lemon fruit. In this study, eriocitrin was investigated for its lowering effect on serum and hepatic lipids in high-fat and high-cholesterol fed rats. Rats in the control group ( N = 6) were fed a 20% lard and 1% cholesterol diet for 21 d, and rats in the 0.35% eriocitrin group ( N = 6) and 0.70% eriocitrin group ( N = 6) were fed a diet supplemented with eriocitrin 0.35% and 0.70%, respectively. The content of hepatic total cholesterol and triglyceride in the eriocitrin group was no different from that of the control group. The total cholesterol, VLDL+LDL, triglyceride, and phospholipid in the serum of the 0.35% eriocitrin group showed significantly lower concentrations than the control group ( P < 0.05), although there was no difference in the HDL concentrations among the groups. The lowering effect of eriocitrin for serum total cholesterol was thought to be caused by a decrease in VLDL+LDL. The 0.35% eriocitrin group was shown to have a significant increase in excretion of fecal bile acid ( P < 0.05) and a tendency for enhanced hepatic m-RNA levels of LDL receptor in comparison with the control group.  相似文献

We observed 3 diabetic patients with intolerable dizziness followed by nausea and vomiting immediately after an initial administration of the alpha-glucosidase inhibitor, voglibose. These symptoms did not recur after discontinuation of the drug. Adverse effects as observed in these cases have not been reported previously. Since the 3 patients were relatively old (average age, 72 years old) and had various degrees of micro- and macroangiopathies, these side effects may have been associated with increased micro- and macrocirculatory disturbances in their central nervous systems through alpha-glucosidase inhibition of this agent.  相似文献

The microstructure and indentation response of pressureless-sintered - and -SiC were studied using a high-resolution electron microscope and analytical electron microscopy. The materials were manufactured with boron and carbon as sintering aids. It was found that the overall porosity of the materials was very low but a large number of carbon inclusions were present. X-ray diffraction revealed the fabricated -SiC material was of the same 3C polytype as the initial starting powder; however, electron microscope observations indicated that the material contained a high density of faulting of the -forms. High-resolution imaging of grain boundaries in these materials indicated that the boundaries were very clean, and when they contained an amorphous intergranular film it was at most 0.5 to 1 nm thick. The presence of boron was not detected. Deformation due to identation took several forms. Firstly, radial cracks extending from the corners of the indent suffered little hindrance from the matrix microstructure, such that transgranular fracture was the dominant mode. Secondly, the deformation zone beneath the indentations showed copious lattice microcracks with some preferred orientation during crack formation and propagation.  相似文献

Attention has been increasingly paid to the partial oxidation of lower alkanes to synthesis gas, due to its intrinsic energy saving process. We studied the partial oxidation of ethane (POE) on Co loaded on various supports. The POE performance varied as follows: Y2O3, CeO2, ZrO2, La2O3  SiO2, Al2O3, TiO2 > MgO. Comparing Y2O3 and CeO2, the carbon deposition during the POE was negligible on CeO2 and therefore CeO2 was the most preferable support. By changing space velocity and O2 partial pressure, reaction mechanism of POE was studied and it was revealed that two-step mechanism was prevailing; combustion of ethane to H2O and CO2 and subsequent reforming of ethane with H2O and CO2 to synthesis gas. Co/CeO2 catalyst exhibited high and stable catalytic activity for 10 h; high ethane conversion of 18% (maximum ethane conversion 20% at O2/C2H6 = 0.2) with H2 and CO selectivities of 93 and 84%, respectively.  相似文献
