Most of the recently proposed computational methods for solving partial differential equations on multiprocessor architectures stem from the 'divide and conquer' paradigm and involve some form of domain decomposition. For those methods which also require grids of points or patches of elements, it is often necessary to explicitly partition the underlying mesh, especially when working with local memory parallel processors. In this paper, a family of cost-effective algorithms for the automatic partitioning of arbitrary two- and three-dimensional finite element and finite difference meshes is presented and discussed in view of a domain decomposed solution procedure and parallel processing. The influence of the algorithmic aspects of a solution method (implicit/explicit computations), and the architectural specifics of a multiprocessor (SIMD/MIMD, startup/transmission time), on the design of a mesh partitioning algorithm are discussed. The impact of the partitioning strategy on load balancing, operation count, operator conditioning, rate of convergence and processor mapping is also addressed. Finally, the proposed mesh decomposition algorithms are demonstrated with realistic examples of finite element, finite volume, and finite difference meshes associated with the parallel solution of solid and fluid mechanics problems on the iPSC/2 and iPSC/860 multiprocessors.  相似文献

Radar targets can be identified by either forming images with sufficient resolution to be recognized by the human observer or by forming signatures or representations of the target for automated machine recognition. Tomographic microwave diversity imaging techniques that combine angular (aspect), spectral, and polarization degrees of freedom have been shown, as summarized in the first part of this paper, to be capable of producing images of the scattering centers of a target with near optical resolution. In the second part of the paper the author shows that collective nonlinear signal processing based on models of neural networks combined with the use of suitable target signatures (here sinogram representations) offer the promise of robust super-resolved target identification from partial information. Results presented are of numerical simulations for a neuromorphic processor where the neural net performs simultaneously the functions of data storage, processing, and recognition by automatically generating an identifying object label, and fast optoelectronic architectures and hardware implementations are briefly mentioned. We review the localization problem in two dimensions for interacting bosons in a random potential. This problem is intimately related to the study of 4 He adsorbed in porous media, Josephson junction arrays, disordered superconducting films and vortex glasses. Using path integral Monte Carlo techniques, we find a superfluid, a localized or Bose glass insulator with gapless excitations, and (at commensurate densities) a Mott insulator with a finite gap to excitations.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Fabrication of electronic materials from nanocomposite of biopolyesters reinforced with carbon nanotubes can be regarded as the effective alternative for conventional nanocomposites consisting of non-biodegradable polymers. Commercial availability of biopolyester-based nanocomposites is limited because of their high cost compared to other polymers, but the factor of their compostable nature is worthless for environmental protection. Such nanocomposites have potential applications in biodegradable sensors, EMI materials, etc. In this review, the current progress of biopolyester/CNTs nanocomposites in the field of biodegradable electronics is reviewed and also the impact of CNTs dispersion on electrical, thermal and mechanical properties of eco composites is stipulated.  相似文献

In this study, glass fiber/epoxy composites were interfacially tailored by introducing polyamidoamine (PAM) dendrimer functionalized graphene oxide (GO) into epoxy matrix. Two different composites each containing varying loading fraction (0.5, 1.0, and 1.5 wt%) of GO and GO-PAM were fabricated via hot press processing. Composites were evaluated for interlaminar shear strength (ILSS), dynamic mechanical properties and thermal conductivity. The inclusion of 1.5 wt% GO-PAM resulted ~57.3%, ~42.7%, and ~54% enhancement in ILSS, storage modulus and thermal conductivity, respectively. Almost, ~71% reduction in coefficient of thermal expansion was also observed at same GO-PAM loading. Moreover, higher glass transition temperature was observed with GO-PAM addition. GO-PAM substantially improved fiber/matrix interfacial adhesion, which was witnessed through scanning electron microscopy. The enhanced thermo-mechanical performance was attributed to interfacial covalent interactions engendered by ring opening reaction between epoxy and amine moieties of PAM dendrimers. These multiscale composites with extraordinary functional properties can outperform conventional counterparts with improved reliability and performance.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The quality of user-generated content over World Wide Web media is a matter of serious concern for both creators and users. To measure the quality of content, webometric techniques are commonly used. In recent times, bibliometric techniques have been introduced to good effect for evaluation of the quality of user-generated content, which were originally used for scholarly data. However, the application of bibliometric techniques to evaluate the quality of YouTube content is limited to h-index and g-index considering only views. This paper advocates for and demonstrates the adaptation of existing Bibliometric indices including h-index, g-index and M-index exploiting both views and comments and proposes three indices hvc, gvc and mvc for YouTube video channel ranking. The empirical results prove that the proposed indices using views along with the comments outperform the existing approaches on a real-world dataset of YouTube.  相似文献

Hypertext systems can be targeted for many different user populations, yet little experimental research has been done to provide design guidelines on how to match the system to the user. An experiment tested whether age relates to the dimensions of performance, navigation strategies and perceptions in use of a hypertext library card catalog. While adults were superior to children in speed and accuracy, there were no indications that the children were qualitatively different than the adults in navigation patterns or perceptions of the system. Some children exhibited more exploratory problem-solving behaviors that the adults. A number of design guidelines are offered, based on the empirical results.  相似文献
