Mechanical properties of diffused chromized layers

The mechanical properties of thermo-diffused layers obtained by vacuum chromizing of steel were studied. It was established that to produce strong and ductile chromized layers by this method it is necessary to decarburize the substrate material before or after the treatment.

Certain specific characteristics of contactless vacuum thermochromizing

Specific characteristics of contactless thermochromizing (as applied to slabs, skillets, and hollow ingots) in vacuum furnaces with one-sided heating were studied. It was shown that the chromized layer thickness and the chromium content in this layer depend on the relative position of the metallizer and the part metallized. Chromizing leads to a reduction in the metal strength which, however, is fully restored during the subsequent working of the parts treated.     

The use of antioxidants in children with diffuse endemic goiter

Activity of lipid peroxidation and antioxidation activity was investigated in 33 children with endemic goiter in 13 children with chronic autoimmune thyroiditis bu the method of chemiluminescation of blood. The control group was consisted of 20 healthy children. Disbalance in the system "Lipid peroxidation-antioxidation activity" (LP-AOA) was revealed in 72% of children with endemic goiter and in 92% of children with chronic autoimmune thyroiditis. Vegetable antioxidant "Neonivit" and vitamin "Aevit" were used to used to correct the changes LP-AOA system in children with endemic goiter. The effect was received in 70% of cases that allows recommending these antioxidants in the complex treatment of endemic goiter.
