The properties of a differential transconductance amplifier coupled with a four channel measurement system are exploited in order to reach a very high sensitivity in current noise measurements. In particular, it is demonstrated that, in proper conditions, the noise contributions coming from the active and passive devices that make up the transresistance amplifier can be virtually eliminated. Moreover, the proposed measurement method allows the evaluation of the impedance of the device under test from noise measurement data. Actual measurement results are also reported that demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.  相似文献

Radiotherapy is still a long way from personalizing cancer treatment plans, and its effectiveness depends on the radiosensitivity of tumor cells. Indeed, therapies that are efficient and successful for some patients may be relatively ineffective for others. Based on this, radiobiological research is focusing on the ability of some reagents to make cancer cells more responsive to ionizing radiation, as well as to protect the surrounding healthy tissues from possible side effects. In this scenario, zebrafish emerged as an effective model system to test for radiation modifiers that can potentially be used for radiotherapeutic purposes in humans. The adoption of this experimental organism is fully justified and supported by the high similarity between fish and humans in both their genome sequences and the effects provoked in them by ionizing radiation. This review aims to provide the literature state of the art of zebrafish in vivo model for radiobiological studies, particularly focusing on the epigenetic and radiomodifying effects produced during fish embryos’ and larvae’s exposure to radiotherapy treatments.  相似文献

This paper focuses on the noise behavior of nMOSFETs with high-k gate dielectrics (SiON/HfO2) with an equivalent oxide thickness of 0.92 nm and using metal (TiN/TaN) as gate material. From the linear dependence of the normalized drain noise on the gate voltage overdrive we conclude that the 1/f noise is dictated by mobility fluctuations. This behavior is mainly ascribed to the reduced mobility due to the low interfacial thickness of 0.4 nm and the Hf-related defects. The gate current is more sensitive to RTS noise with respect to the drain current noise. Cross-correlation measurements between drain and gate noise are used as a tool for discriminating between noise mechanisms which generate different fluctuation levels at the gate and drain terminal.  相似文献

Consumer perceptions regarding traceability were investigated by means-end-chain laddering. Consumers in four European countries were questioned about the benefits they associate with traceability related attributes. The benefits consumers associate with traceability are in terms of health, quality, safety and control, of which the latter was associated with trust and confidence. These benefits were similarly important in the countries investigated. Cross-national differences were also observed. Importantly, both quality and safety were shown to be related to traceability in the consumers′ minds with quality implying safety. The results show that traceability may contribute to improving consumer confidence. The most important aspects of traceability which should be incorporated into communication with consumers are discussed.  相似文献

Honey is a valuable food produced by bees from sugary substances that they gather in nature. The transformation the nectar into honey, by bees, is long and complex. Except for honey, where heavy metals are absent or are found only in traces, the bees and their products have always been considered excellent biomarkers of such contaminants. We have assumed that the absence of heavy metals in honey is due to the presence of a detoxification system in the digestive system of bees, which involves metallothioneins, proteins that have a role in the homeostatic control of essential and non‐essential metals. We have placed the beehives in three different zones: industrial, urban and rural. Investigations were carried out with ICP‐MS method for the detection of heavy metals in the guts of honey bees and honey. The metallothioneins have been identified by Immunohistochemical and Western‐blotting analisys. The investigations have shown the presence of heavy metals only in bees guts but not in honey, while the presence of metallothionein has been highlighted only in epithelium of the honey sac, demonstrating the existence of an efficient system of detoxification of heavy metals.  相似文献

Equivalent input current noise and bandwidth are the most relevant parameters qualifying a low‐noise transimpedance amplifier. In the conventional topology consisting of an operational amplifier in a shunt‐shunt configuration, the equivalent input noise decreases as the feedback resistor (RF), which also sets the gain, increases. Unfortunately, as RF increases above a few MΩ, as it is required for obtaining high sensitivity, the bandwidth of the system is set by the parasitic capacitance of RF and reduces as RF increases. In this paper, we propose a new topology that allows overcoming this limitation by employing a large‐bandwidth voltage amplifier together with a proper modified feedback network for compensating the effect of the parasitic capacitance of the feedback resistance. We experimentally demonstrate, on a prototype circuit, that the proposed approach allows to obtain a bandwidth in excess of 100 kHz and an equivalent input noise of about 4 fA/ , corresponding to the current noise of the 1 GΩ resistor that is part of the feedback network. The new approach allows obtaining larger bandwidth with respect to those obtained in previously proposed configurations with comparable background noise. Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) were analysed from wheat flours used in traditional bread making throughout Sicily (southern Italy). Plate counts, carried out in three different media commonly used to detect food and sourdough LAB, revealed a maximal LAB concentration of approximately 4.75 Log CFU g−1. Colonies representing various morphological appearances were isolated and differentiated based on phenotypic characteristics and genetic analysis by randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD)-PCR. Fifty unique strains were identified. Analysis by 16S rRNA gene sequencing grouped the strains into 11 LAB species, which belonged to six genera: Enterococcus, Lactobacillus, Lactococcus, Leuconostoc, Pediococcus and Weissella. Weissella cibaria, Lactobacillus plantarum, Leuconostoc pseudomesenteroides and Leuconostoc citreum were the most prevalent species. The strains were not geographically related. Denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) analysis of total DNA of flour was used to provide a more complete understanding of the LAB population; it confirmed the presence of species identified with the culture-dependent approach, but did not reveal the presence of any additional LAB species. Finally, the technological characteristics (acidifying capacity, antimicrobial production, proteolytic activity, organic acid, and volatile organic compound generation) of the 50 LAB strains were investigated. Strain engineering based on either a global approach using high-mobility substrates or the implementation of so-called processing-induced stressors has become common practice for 90 nm and below CMOS technologies. Although the main goal is to improve the performance by increasing the drive current, other electrical parameters such as the threshold voltage, the multiplication current, the low frequency noise and the gate oxide quality in general may be influenced. This paper reviews the impact of different global and local strain engineering techniques on the gate stack quality and its reliability, including hot carrier performance, negative bias temperature instabilities, time dependent dielectric breakdown and radiation hardness. Recent insights will be discussed and the influence of different strain engineering approaches illustrated.  相似文献

Performance and Reliability of Strained-Silicon nMOSFETs With SiN Cap Layer   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
A complete comparison of performance and reliability between polysilicon gate/SiON oxide nMOSFETs with and without SiN cap layer is presented. The uniaxial tensile strain induced by the cap layer causes an improvement in the channel current drive capability without degrading the noise performance. The gain in the transconductance, for the strained devices, was found to decrease for increasing channel lengths and for higher channel fields. Similar robustness against hot carrier stress, bias-temperature instability, and time to breakdown were found between strained and unstrained-silicon devices, confirming the advantages of strain technology  相似文献
