This paper describes the dielectric breakdown characteristics of oil and oil‐impregnated paper for very fast transient (VFT) voltages. Blumlein circuits generate VFT voltages of 60 and 300 ns in a pulse width that simulates disconnecting switching surges in gas‐insulated switch gears. We measured the breakdown voltages of needle‐to‐plane, plane‐to‐plane oil gaps and several pieces of paper between plane electrodes for VFT and lightning impulse voltages. The measured data were formulated in V‐t characteristics and Weibull probability distributions. The inclination n of V‐t characteristics of insulating paper is 150, which is less than n = 13.7 of the plane‐to‐plane oil gap in the VFT time range. The shape parameters of Weibull distribution obtained in this study show that the scattering of breakdown voltages of paper is much less than that of oil. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A different newly designed cationic exchange polymer membrane and anionic exchange polymer membrane were introduced, and also the transport properties of these polymeric membranes were investigated in this study. The transport properties of these polymer membranes in contact with ferrocene redox derivatives were estimated by using electrochemical techniques such as cyclicvoltammetry, chronopotentiometry, and chronoamperometry techniques, respectively. The used ferrocene redox substances, which have different functional groups, were (Ferrocenylmethyl) trimethylamonium iodide, FcMA, Ferrocenedimethanol, FcDM, and Ferrocene carboxylic acid, FcCA. It indicated that the performance of a membrane depended on the content of polymer gel, anionic exchange polymer site (20 wt % and 50 wt %) or cationic polymer exchange site (20 wt % and 50 wt %), and the efficiency of the functional groups of cationic and anionic exchange polymer site as well. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The equivalent circuit, the efficiency, and the important characteristics of moving pick‐up type contactless power transfer systems are described. If the primary series capacitor and the secondary parallel capacitors are chosen correctly and the winding resistances are ignored, the equivalent circuit of the transformer with these capacitors becomes the same as an ideal transformer at the resonant frequency. This simple approximation helps to understand the phenomena occurring with load changes. Because the circuit analysis becomes simple, the approximate value of the power transfer efficiency can be derived. This study gives fundamental knowledge on the particle classification performance by centrifugal separator.It is found that the cut size of a centrifugal separator decreases as the rotational speed increases and the liquid flow rate decreases. Fitting our experimental results with the theory, they agree with each other at high flow rate. However, the difference between them generates at low flow rate. This is because dead spaces are generated in the centrifugal separator at the low flow rate. Also, the computer simulation of the fluid behavior in the centrifugal separator can find the decrease of the velocity near the wall under the low flow rate, which suggests the possibility of the formation of dead spaces in the separator. 相似文献

A 2-D device simulation for organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) was carried out to reveal the characteristic difference between staggered and planar structures. Assuming the OTFT with Schottky barrier contact, the staggered-structure TFT has more current flow, bigger field-effect mobility, and lower contact resistance than the planar structure. The simulation results indicate that the source electrode of the staggered structure has better ability to supply the current than that of the planar structure. 相似文献

We have investigated the switching behavior of as-deposited CrO x and post-annealed CrO y films by use of a variety of electrodes (top electrode Ag, Ti; bottom electrode Pt, fluorine tin oxide (FTO)). Resistance switching is highly dependent on electrode material and post-annealing treatment. Among Pt devices, I–V hysteresis was observed for the Ag/CrO x /Pt device only; no resistance switching was observed for Ag/CrO y /Pt, Ti/CrO x /Pt, and Ti/CrO y /Pt devices. Among FTO devices, I–V hysteresis was observed for the Ag/CrO x /FTO device whereas I–V hysteresis with the opposite switching direction was observed for Ag/CrO y /FTO, Ti/CrO x /FTO, and Ti/CrO y /FTO devices. The direction of switching depends not only on electrode material but also on post-annealing treatment, which affects the density of grain boundaries. Thus, the density of grain boundaries determines the type of charge carrier involved in the switching process. For as-deposited CrO x films with a high density of grain boundaries Ag filament paths mediated by electrochemical redox reaction were observed, irrespective of bottom electrode material (Pt or FTO). Post-annealed CrO y films with a low density of grain boundaries suppressed electrochemical redox reaction in the Ag/CrO y /Pt device but promoted short-range movement of O2? ions through the bottom interface, resulting in resistance switching in the Ag/CrO y /FTO device. Oxygen incorporation for compensation of oxygen defects is investigated with La-silicate dielectrics in directly contacted with the Si substrate. The amount of oxygen is controlled by the temperature of annealing in oxygen atmosphere (oxygen annealing) and the thickness of the gate electrode. The positive shift in flatband voltage (VFB) by oxygen incorporation is an experimental evidence for defects compensation in La-silicate dielectrics. Optimum oxygen annealing provides the VFB shift toward positive direction without increasing equivalent oxide thickness (EOT). Although the oxygen annealing degrades the interfacial property at La-silicate/Si interface, subsequent forming gas annealing (FGA) can recover the interfacial property. It is experimentally revealed that the positive VFB shift of La-silicate dielectrics is stable even after subsequent FGA. The supplied oxygen in La-silicate is expected to maintain even after reducing process. Movement of Fermi level toward the Si valence band edge caused by oxygen incorporation is successfully observed by XPS. Moreover, no chemical reaction between La-silicate and Si substrate by oxygen annealing are confirmed from TEM observation and analyses of X-ray photoelectron spectra. Recently, progress has been made in the Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching (GMPLS) and Automatic Switched Optical
Networks (ASON) standardizations. These technologies realize construction of large-scaled optical networks, interconnections
among single-domain Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) networks, and direct communication over multi-domain WDM networks.
Meanwhile, it is known that the topology of the Internet exhibits the power-law attribute. Since the topology of the Internet,
which is constructed by interconnecting ASs, exhibits the power-law, there is a possibility that large-scale WDM networks,
which are constructed by interconnecting WDM networks, will also exhibit the power-law attribute. One of the structural properties
of a topology that adheres to the power-law is that most nodes have just a few links, although some have a tremendous number
of them. Another property is that the average distance between nodes is smaller than in a mesh-like network. A natural question
is how such a structural property performs in WDM networks. In this paper, we first investigate the property of the power-law
attribute of physical topologies for WDM networks. We compare the performance of WDM networks with mesh-like and power-law
topologies, and show that links connected to high-degree nodes are bottlenecks in power-law topologies. To relax this, we
introduce a concept of virtual fiber, which consists of two or more fibers, and propose its configuration method to utilize
wavelength resources more effectively. We compare performances of power-law networks with and without our method by computer
simulations. The results show that our method reduces the blocking probabilities by more than one order of magnitude. 相似文献
