In order to investigate the effects of bile acid feeding on hepatic microsomal deoxycholate 7α-hydroxylase activity, three different bile acids were administered (0.2% w/w in chow) to hamsters for two weeks. Deoxycholate 7α-hydroxylase activity was increased markedly by feeding of cholic acid (CA) and slightly by deoxycholic acid (DCA) Chenodeoxycholic acid (CDCA) had little effect on the enzyme activity. Feeding each of the bile acids significantly inhibited the activity of cholesterol 7α-hydroxylase in the order CDCA≥ DCA>CA. There was no correlation between deoxycholate 7α-hydroxylase activity and cholesterol 7α-hydroxylase activity. It is concluded that the activity of deoxycholate 7α-hydroxylase is up-regulated by feeding DCA and CA and that the mechanism seems to be different from that of cholesterol 7α-hydroxylase. The increased activity of hepatic deoxycholate 7α-hydroxylase by CA and DCA should be beneficial in minimizing the toxic effects of DCA in the hamster.  相似文献

本文详细讨论了杯形砂轮修整器修整陶瓷结合剂金刚石砂轮时的性能。主要结果如下:(1)修整器以横向进给方式修整时,金刚石砂轮断面形状为一斜线。使用其它修整器时,只要以横向进给方式进行修整,所得断面形状亦为一斜线。(2)修整器以切入送进方式修整时,只要把修整器旋转轴线调整到垂直于工作台面,则金刚石砂轮断面形状为一水平直线。若把旋转轴线调整到同工作台面成非90°夹角,则断面形状为一圆弧线或者斜线。(3)以切入送进方式修整时,金刚石砂轮速度越低或工作台速度越高,修整比越高。杯形砂轮旋转速度对修整比没有明显影响。(4)金刚石砂轮速度过快容易使砂轮表面磨粒钝化。  相似文献

The effects of feeding cholic acid, chenodeoxycholic acid and ursodeoxycholic acid on the activity of the hepatic steroid 12α-hydroxylase, gallbladder bile acid composition, fecal neutral sterol output, cholesterol synthesis and bile acid synthesis were determined in female hamsters. The 12α-hydroxylase activity was inhibited to 56% by cholic acid, to 62% by chenodeoxycholic acid, and to 78% by ursodeoxycholic acid compared with the control. Bile acid composition was altered by feeding of cholic acid and chenodeoxycholic acid to be rich in the given bile acids. Fecal neutral sterol output increased about twice by feeding chenodeoxycholic acid and ursodeoxycholic acid, whereas cholic acid had no significant effect. Body cholesterol synthesis increased to 217% by chenodeoxycholic acid and to 274% by ursodeoxycholic acid, whereas effect of cholic acid was not significant. Bile acid synthesis was suppressed to 48% of control only by chenodeoxycholic acid. A positive correlation between the 12α-hydroxylase activity and the bile acid synthesis was observed in the control, chenodeoxycholatefed and ursodeoxycholate-fed animals. In conclusion, ursodeoxycholic acid might have less inhibitory effect on the steroid 12α-hydroxylase and the bile acid synthesis than chenodeoxycholic acid.  相似文献

Measurement of volume and surface area of the frontal, parietal, temporal and occipital lobes from magnetic resonance (MR) images shows promise as a method for use in diagnosis of dementia. This article presents a novel computer-aided system for automatically segmenting the cerebral lobes from 3T human brain MR images. Until now, the anatomical definition of cerebral lobes on the cerebral cortex is somewhat vague for use in automatic delineation of boundary lines, and there is no definition of cerebral lobes in the interior of the cerebrum. Therefore, we have developed a new method for defining cerebral lobes on the cerebral cortex and in the interior of the cerebrum. The proposed method determines the boundaries between the lobes by deforming initial surfaces. The initial surfaces are automatically determined based on user-given landmarks. They are smoothed and deformed so that the deforming boundaries run along the hourglass portion of the three-dimensional shape of the cerebrum with fuzzy rule-based active contour and surface models. The cerebrum is divided into the cerebral lobes according to the boundaries determined using this method. The reproducibility of our system with a given subject was assessed by examining the variability of volume and surface area in three healthy subjects, with measurements performed by three beginners and one expert user. The experimental results show that our system segments the cerebral lobes with high reproducibility.  相似文献

Numerical evaluations of grid erosions in ion engines are required to estimate the lifetimes of long-term space missions. In this study, to investigate the characteristics of ions colliding with neutrals and impacting the accel grid surface, including ions that collide with neutrals more than once, three-dimensional particle analyses using a full-PIC (Particle in Cell) code were performed. The distributions of erosion by charge-exchanged ions show periodic patterns. The multiple-collided ion constitutes 7 and 8% of the accel grid current to the inner and downstream surfaces, respectively. The energy of the multiple-collided ion impacting the downstream surface has a broader distribution than that of the charge-exchanged ion. These results suggest the importance of investigating multiple-collided ions in high-accuracy quantitative evaluations of grid erosion.  相似文献

A fuel cell system using yttria-stabilized zirconia as a solid electrolyte was applied to the oxidative coupling of methane. The most active and selective catalyst was BaCO3 deposited on Au-electrode (anode). Optimum conditions for the reaction were examined. The pressure of methane at the anode and that of oxygen at the cathode should be high as much as possible. The optimum temperature was 1073 K. Several advantages of the method are described.  相似文献

The white-rot basidiomycete Pleurotus ostreatus produced sweet flavor compounds on a liquid medium. The major and minor compounds identified by GC-MS analysis were p-anisaldehyde (4-methoxybenzaldehyde) and 3-chloro-p-anisaldehyde (3-chloro-4-methoxybenzaldehyde), respectively. p-Anisaldehyde was only produced under static culture conditions. Differences in the type and quantity of flavor compounds produced among wild strains of P. ostreatus were observed. Aryl alcohol oxidase and manganese peroxidase activities increased parallel to the production of p-anisaldehyde. These results indicated that the biosynthesis of p-anisaldehyde is concerned in generating H2O2-activated peroxidase in the lignin-degradation system. Addition of L-tyrosine to the culture led to higher production of p-anisaldehyde. The flavor extract, which contains p-anisaldehyde, exhibited antimicrobial activity against Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Aspergillus niger and Fusarium oxysporum.  相似文献

A microfabricated thermal modulator (μTM) designed for ultimate use in a comprehensive two-dimensional microscale gas chromatography (μGC × μGC) system is evaluated. The 2-stage device measures 13 mm (l) × 6 mm (w) × 0.5 mm (h) and consists of two interconnected serpentine etched-Si microchannels suspended from a thin Pyrex cap and wall-coated with PDMS (polydimethylsiloxane). The chip is mounted within a few tens of micrometers of a thermoelectric cooler that maintains both stages at a baseline temperature between -35 and -20 °C in order to focus analytes eluting from an upstream separation column. Each stage is heated to 210 °C sequentially at a rate as high as 2400 °C/s by independent thin-film resistors to inject the analytes in consecutive fractions to a downstream column, and then cooled at a rate as high as -168 °C/s. The average power dissipation is only ~10 W for heating and 21 W for cooling without using consumable materials. In this study, the outlet of the μTM is connected directly to a flame ionization detector to assess its performance. Following a demonstration of basic operation, the modulated peak amplitude enhancement (PAE) and full-width-at-half-maximum (fwhm) are evaluated for members of a series of n-alkanes (C(6)-C(10)) as a function of the rim and stage temperatures; modulation period, phase, and offset; analyte concentration; and carrier-gas flow rate. A PAE as high as 50 and a fwhm as narrow as 90 ms are achieved for n-octane under optimized conditions.  相似文献

Heat transfer and fluid flow of natural convection along a vertical flat plate were experimentally investigated in the transition region. Local heat transfer coefficients along a vertical flat plate were measured to distinguish the first transition region. The wall temperature and fluid flow were then visualized using a liquid crystal sheet and water-soluble fluorescent paint. Also discussed are the characteristic statistical quantities with the aid of visualizations for the velocity and temperature fields. It was revealed from a series of experiments that horseshoe-shaped low-temperature patterns appear on the wall and that they play a significant role in heat transfer. When the data was ensemble-averaged it was found that the characteristic time-and-space scales of the patterns are statistically independent of not only heat flux but also the position in which they occur. Moreover, W-shaped flow patterns, which possess three-dimensional and unstable structures, appear in the near-wall region. They play a significant role in the laminar to turbulent transition.  相似文献
