Features of magnetization curves of assemblies including steel rods with different magnetic properties

Samples composed of four and nine steel rods with different magnetic properties have been studies. The values of shape permeability of the samples have been found, and it has been proven that the composition of a composite sample can be determined on the base of the differential magnetic permeability of the sample versus external magnetic field with due account of the shape permeability, whereas positions of peaks on the differential permeability versus internal magnetic field yield information about properties of rods included in the sample.     

Choice of place of magnetic-flux registration in the magnetic core of an attachable electromagnet for inspection of articles using their coercive force

The demagnetizing current I _dc is measured in different areas of an electromagnet-article magnetic circuit at the moment of zero crossing of the magnetic flux as the gap between the electromagnet and article changes. The weaker dependence of the I _dce magnitude measured in close proximity to the article on the gap width and the possibility of using the parameter in measuring the coercive force of the article with an attachable transducer (in particular, with a Hall sensor) are demonstrated.

Assessment of covariation by humans and animals: The joint influence of prior expectations and current situational information.

Proposes a theoretical framework for understanding and integrating people's and animals' covariation assessment. It is argued that covariation perception is determined by the interaction between 2 sources of information: (a) the organism's prior expectations about the covariation between 2 events and (b) current situational information provided by the environment about the objective contingency between the events. Both accuracies and errors in people's and animals' covariation assessments are analyzed within this interactional theoretical framework. Four lines of research are reviewed in support of this analysis. The issue of accuracy vs rationality in covariation assessment is considered. A permanent-magnet-based attached instrument used to inspect articles on the basis of their coercive force

An attached magnetic instrument that uses two permanent magnets to magnetize and demagnetize an article is considered. When one of the magnets is set at a fixed angle, the rotation angle of the other magnet is proportional to the coercive force of an article and is used as the tested parameter.     

Possibility of Nondestructive Testing of Operational Heating of Contact Surfaces of Rolling Bearings

The coupling between variation of parameters of nondestructive testing and heating of rolling bearings associated with their operation regime in a helicopter reduction gear is demonstrated. The coercive force method and the eddy-current method of testing outer bearing rings made from ShKh15 steel are considered.
