This paper describes a complete system to create anatomically accurate example-based volume deformation and animation of articulated body regions, starting from multiple in vivo volume scans of a specific individual. In order to solve the correspondence problem across volume scans, a template volume is registered to each sample. The wide range of pose variations is first approximated by volume blend deformation (VBD), providing proper initialization of the articulated subject in different poses. A novel registration method is presented to efficiently reduce the computation cost while avoiding strong local minima inherent in complex articulated body volume registration. The algorithm highly constrains the degrees of freedom and search space involved in the nonlinear optimization, using hierarchical volume structures and locally constrained deformation based on the biharmonic clamped spline. Our registration step establishes a correspondence across scans, allowing a data-driven deformation approach in the volume domain. The results provide an occlusion-free person-specific 3D human body model, asymptotically accurate inner tissue deformations, and realistic volume animation of articulated movements driven by standard joint control estimated from the actual skeleton. Our approach also addresses the practical issues arising in using scans from living subjects. The robustness of our algorithms is tested by their applications on the hand, probably the most complex articulated region in the body, and the knee, a frequent subject area for medical imaging due to injuries. 相似文献

This paper presents a multi-view acquisition system using multi-modal sensors, composed of time-of-flight (ToF) range sensors and color cameras. Our system captures the multiple pairs of color images and depth maps at multiple viewing directions. In order to ensure the acceptable accuracy of measurements, we compensate errors in sensor measurement and calibrate multi-modal devices. Upon manifold experiments and extensive analysis, we identify the major sources of systematic error in sensor measurement and construct an error model for compensation. As a result, we provide a practical solution for the real-time error compensation of depth measurement. Moreover, we implement the calibration scheme for multi-modal devices, unifying the spatial coordinate for multi-modal sensors. The main contribution of this work is to present the thorough analysis of systematic error in sensor measurement and therefore provide a reliable methodology for robust error compensation. The proposed system offers a real-time multi-modal sensor calibration method and thereby is applicable for the 3D reconstruction of dynamic scenes. 相似文献

In this study,the permeabilities of Berea and Otway sandstones were measured under different confining pressures,and porosity was investigated through mercury intrusion porosimetry(MIP).The total porosities of the Berea and Otway sandstones were approximately 17.4%and 25%,respectively.Pore size distributions of each sandstone were almost the same,but the pores in the Otway sandstone were slightly narrower.However,the permeability of the Otway sandstone was smaller than that of the Berea sandstone by one order of magnitude.Three-dimensional(3D)void geometry and geometrical properties of the void spaces relevant to flow were compared to obtain the relation between the permeability differences and porosities of the two sandstones.The 3D geometrical analysis using microfocus X-ray computed tomography(CT)was performed,and the pore geometries of both sandstones were compared using the 3D medial axis(3DMA)method.Pore and throat radii,pore coordination number,tortuosity,number of connecting paths,connecting path volume,and other factors were determined using 3DMA.The Otway sandstone was characterized by a small effective throat/pore radius ratio.Based on the fluid flow mechanism,the lower effective throat/pore radius ratio results in a lower permeability induced by the fluid energy loss,which means that the 3D geometrical shape of void spaces affects the permeability value. 相似文献

Providing effective protection and management for broadcast content is an important issue. However, multiple standards for managing protected broadcast programs exist today. Heterogeneous devices with different content-protection mechanisms face an interoperability problem in exchanging and interpreting various types of rights information that have different syntax and semantics. This article analyzes several rights information standards and demonstrates the promise of achieving convergence of the rights information and interoperability between these standards through the MPEG-21 Rights-Expression-Languages Dissemination-and-Capture profile. 相似文献

The development of highly active electrocatalysts is crucial for the advancement of renewable energy conversion devices. The design of core–shell nanoparticle catalysts represents a promising approach to boost catalytic activity as well as save the use of expensive precious metals. Here, a simple, one‐step synthetic route is reported to prepare hexagonal nanosandwich‐shaped Ni@Ru core–shell nanoparticles (Ni@Ru HNS), in which Ru shell layers are overgrown in a regioselective manner on the top and bottom, and around the center section of a hexagonal Ni nanoplate core. Notably, the synthesis can be extended to NiCo@Ru core–shell nanoparticles with tunable core compositions (Ni3Cox@Ru HNS). Core–shell HNS structures show superior electrocatalytic activity for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) to a commercial RuO2 black catalyst, with their OER activity being dependent on their core compositions. The observed trend in OER activity is correlated to the population of Ru oxide (Ru4+) species, which can be modulated by the core compositions. 相似文献

Development of oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalysts with reduced precious metal content while enhancing catalytic performance has been of pivotal importance in cost‐effective design of acid polymer electrolyte membrane water electrolyzers. Hollow multimetallic nanostructures with well‐defined facets are ideally suited for saving the usage of expensive precious metals as well as boosting catalytic performances; however, Ir‐based hollow nanocatalysts have rarely been reported. Here, a very simple synthetic scheme is reported for the preparation of hollow octahedral nanocages of Co‐doped IrCu alloy with readily tunable morphology and size. The Co‐doped IrCu octahedral nanocages show excellent electrocatalytic activity and long‐term durability for OER in acidic media. Notably, their OER activity represents one of the best performances among Ir‐based acidic OER catalysts. 相似文献

A cryogenic thermosiphons is an efficient heat transfer device between a cryocooler and a thermal load that is to be cooled. This paper presents an idea of thermosiphon which contains two vertically-separated evaporators. This unique configuration of the thermosiphon is suitable for the purpose of cooling simultaneously two superconducting bearings of the HTS (high temperature superconducting) flywheel system at the same temperature. A so-called double-evaporator thermosiphon was designed, fabricated and tested using nitrogen as the working fluid under sub-atmospheric pressure condition. The interior thermal condition of the double-evaporator thermosiphon was examined in detail during its cool-down process according to the internal thermal states. The double-evaporator thermosiphon has operated successfully at steady-state operation under sub-atmospheric pressure. At the heat flow of 10.6 W, the total temperature difference of the thermosiphon was only 1.59 K and the temperature difference between the evaporators was 0.64 K. The temperature difference of two evaporators is attributed to the conductive thermal resistance of the adiabatic section between the evaporators. The method to reduce this temperature difference has been investigated and presented in this paper. The proper area selection of condenser, evaporator 1, and evaporator 2 was studied by using thermal resistance model to optimize the performance of a thermosiphon. The superior heat transfer characteristic of the double-evaporator thermosiphon without involving any cryogenic pump can be a great potential advantage for cooling HTS bulk modules that are separated vertically. 相似文献

Dissolution of Ir oxides in Ir‐based catalysts, which is closely linked to the catalyst activity and stability toward the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in acidic media, is a critical unresolved problem in the commercialization of water electrolysis. Doping foreign elements into the Ir oxides can accomplish an optimal combination of Ir oxidation states that is conducive to the leaching‐resistance of active catalytic sites. Here, it is reported that Pt doping into IrOx‐based nanoframe is beneficial in both terms of activity and stability. The Pt‐doped IrOx‐based nanoframe achieves the mass activity of 0.644 A mg?1Ir+Pt at 1.53 VRHE, which is 15‐fold higher than that of the commercial IrO2. During the accelerated durability test, the IrIV‐to‐IrIII ratio of 5 is maintained in the presence of Pt dopant to effectively mitigate the degradation of Ir catalyst, leading to the superb catalyst durability in acidic media. 相似文献

Various interfaces have been suggested for mobile devices, including touch gesture and embedded sensor‐based interfaces. However, if a user's task requires a thorough look, these interfaces hinder sight of view in display and thus can be inappropriate for the tasks. This problem is more important especially in the mobile computer aided design (CAD) context, which performs visually demanding tasks on the limited screen. To address this point, this study suggests a mobile interface utilizing the rear camera of the device and describes the function mapping for CAD. The suggested interface detects finger attachment and movement direction. The number of colors in camera vision and local binary pattern are used as features, and a support vector machine (SVM) is used for feature classification. A prototype application is designed for validation, and appropriate SVM models are selected through benchmarking tests. The validation results show that the suggested interface can perform with high accuracy and low computational resources. 相似文献
