Overview of the ITA tunnelling project summary reports

Beginning in 1986, the International Tunnelling Association's Working Group on the Catalogue of Tunnels has produced three volumes summarizing data on tunnel projects throughout the world. The animateur (chairman) of the Working Group describes the tunnel project summaries, their uses to date, and future plans.     

Shotcrete for rock support: a summary report on the state of the art in 15 countries

This ITA Report is a compilation of guidelines from 15 countries on materials and mix design, production and performance of shotcrete, as well as national guidelines concerning quality control and test methods. The report also deals with the extent and requirements of both preconstruction tests and routine tests, and applicable test methods. It should be observed that although the report itself does not put forth recommendations, it presents a summary of what is generally official recommended or suggested practice in different countries today.     

ITA recommendations on contractual sharing of risks/AITES recommandations sur le partage contractuel des risques: ITA working group on contractual sharing of risks/ AITES groupe de travail partage contractuel des risques

This report summarizes two recommendations prepared by the International Tunnelling Association Working Group on Contratual Sharing of Risks. The recommendations have been officially approved by the ITA General Assembly.     

General considerations in assessing the advantages of using underground space

The ITA Working Group No 13, “Direct and Indirect Advantages of Underground Structures”, has begun an analysis of the advantages of underground structures. In presenting some general considerations about the assessment of the advantages of underground space use, this report constitutes a general introduction for a series of reports treating several uses of underground space.
