Sulphite analyses were carried out on a variety of foods obtained from food stores. These values were compared with the maximum sulphite levels permitted in the Federal Republic of Germany. Sulphite loss caused by cooking sulphite-treated foods was also investigated. The actual sulphite content in food is usually far below the maximum permitted level. Out of 86 analysed samples 5 exceeded this level. The cooking of foods frequently results in a sulphite content below the detectable level.  相似文献

The initial stages of the metal-dusting process on Alloy 800 at 620 °C were investigated by light optical microscopy, RAMAN spectroscopy, atomic-force microscopy, Auger electron spectroscopy, transmission-electron microscopy and electron back-scatter diffraction. As it turned out the incubation period for metal-dusting is characterized by simultaneous formation of a heterogeneously growing oxide scale and deposition of carbon. The material surface shows different tarnish colors depending on the substrate-grain orientation with different susceptibility to the beginning of metal-dusting attack. “Low-index” grains were not attacked within the times investigated while the other grain orientations showed pitting. Carbon is evidently incorporated into the oxide scale from the very beginning of exposure with different intensities depending on the underlying substrate-grain orientation leading to differences in the tarnish colors. As a consequence carbides are formed even underneath “dense” oxide layers. Evidently metal-dusting attack starts at positions of the oxide scale where “higher carbon concentrations” are present.  相似文献

The oxidation of iodide, guaiacol and 2,2'-azino-di[3-ethyl-benzthiazoline-(6)-sulphonic acid] and the iodination of tyrosyl residues in bovine serum albumin, catalysed by partly purified thyroid peroxidase, were studied. The enzyme showed pH optima with all electron donors. With the exception of guaiacol, the position of the pH optima depended upon both the electron donor and hydrogen peroxide concentrations. With increased hydrogen peroxide concentrations the optima shifted to lower pH, and with increased iodide concentration to higher pH. For monoiodotyrosine (MIT) formation in bovine serum albumin the position of the pH optimum was also dependent on the hydrogen peroxide concentrations. The position of the pH optimum of the oxidation of guaiacol was pH 9 and independent of substrate and hydrogen peroxide concentrations. It is obvious from these findings that iodination reactions must be studied under well-defined conditions.  相似文献

In order to optimize students' peer feedback processes, this study investigates how an instructional intervention in the peer assessment process can have a beneficial effect on students' performance in a wiki environment in first‐year higher education. The main aim was to study the effect of integrating a peer feedback template with a varying structuring degree. The present study involved three conditions: a no structure, a basic structure and an elaborate structure condition. Due to a clear hierarchical structure, in which over time (level 1), 168 students (level 2) are nested within 37 groups (level 3), multilevel analysis was performed to examine the effect of time, student and group level influences on students' peer feedback quality and product scores. The results revealed that both peer feedback quality and product scores increase significantly for all conditions over time, after multiple practice occasions. In addition, after several practice occasions, significant differences were found between the conditions in both peer feedback (elaborate higher than no structure) and product scores (elaborate and basic higher than no structure). Building on this, limitations, directions for future research and practical implications are presented.  相似文献

PURPOSE: After catheterization, 42% to 100% of central venous catheters are surrounded by a "fibrin sleeve." This sleeve has been considered the cause of catheter-related infections, withdrawal occlusion, and pulmonary embolism. The reactions between the vein wall and the catheter were studied. METHODS: A silicone catheter was placed in the anterior caval vein of 123 rats. After in situ fixation at scheduled intervals, the pathologic changes were studied on semi-serial histologic sections by means of light microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). In 36 rats, the catheter was withdrawn immediately; in 72 rats, it was left in situ up to 6 months; and in 15 rats, the study was performed up to 10 months after withdrawal of a catheter that had remained in situ for 6 months. RESULTS: In the group in which the catheter was withdrawn immediately, mural thrombi disappeared by day 7. In the group in which the catheter remained in situ, thrombi remained around the proximal portion of the catheter. This pericatheter thrombosis (PCT) was invaded by migrating and proliferating smooth muscle cells (SMCs), originating from an injured vein wall, and transformed from day 7 into a tissue composed predominantly of SMCs and collagen and covered by endothelial cells. Later, the number of cells decreased, and the relative amount of collagen increased. Up to 10 months after withdrawal of the catheter, the collapsed sleeve was still present within the vein. CONCLUSION: The sleeve around a central venous catheter is not a fibrin sleeve, but a stable cellular-collagen tissue covered by endothelium. It is mainly formed by smooth muscle cells migrating from the injured vein wall into the early pericatheter thrombus.  相似文献

This study investigated the impact of different modes of scaffolding on students who are learning science through a web-based collaborative inquiry project in authentic classroom settings and explored the interaction effects with students’ characteristics. The intervention study aimed to improve domain-specific knowledge and metacognitive awareness during online information problem solving (IPS) as part of an online inquiry project. Three experimental conditions (teacher-enhanced scaffolding, technology-enhanced scaffolding, and both forms of scaffolding) were compared with a control condition in a two-by-two factorial quasi-experimental design. Moreover, gender and prior knowledge were examined as two factors which may have a significant impact on Web-based learning. In a four-week field study in secondary science education, pretest-posttest differences were measured. In total 347 students from 18 secondary school classes were involved and the classes were randomly distributed over the 4 conditions. Our findings support the notion of multiple scaffolding as an approach to enhance both knowledge acquisition and metacognitive awareness with respect to IPS-processes and to meet a mix of students with different needs within the context of a web-based inquiry learning project.  相似文献

This paper presents an optimization procedure which has been developed to select appropriate suspension design parameters for a simple two wheel trailer. A modern approach to the optimization problem has been used applying non-linear programming to the constrained search for the minimum of an objective function. The acceleration response to roadway input of selected points on the load of the trailer has been designated for minimization. This acceleration has an important significance to the trailer design because of its effect on the stable and smooth ride of the trailer. Two computational procedures have been used and the results compared. The first approach involves the linear superposition of responses to a series of discrete sinusoidal inputs while the second applies more contemporary random vibration theory using power spectral density curves to simulate the actual road surfaces. The results of the optimization procedure are then compared with the response characteristics of the original trailer design and demonstrate that a substantial improvement has been made.  相似文献

The aim of this large-scale study was to understand the technology acceptation of learning management systems (LMS) by secondary school teachers and to investigate the instructional use of LMS, distinguishing between informational use and communicational use. The predictive model further includes: perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, subjective norm, personal innovativeness in the domain of information technology, experience and internal ICT support at school level. Data were collected from 505 Flemish secondary school teachers. After performing satisfactory reliability and validity checks, the study was able to support all relationships among the 9 variables. Informational use was found to be a precursor for communicational use, perceived ease of use of the LMS is the strongest predictor in LMS-acceptation. Internal ICT support has a direct effect on the informational use of the LMS and on subjective norm. Implications stress that secondary school managers in education should take into account the importance of a teachers’ efforts and performance perceptions and the direct and indirect impact of internal ICT support on LMS adoption.  相似文献

Co, Co–Mn (67:33 at.%) and Co–Cu (67:33 at.%) coatings were fabricated using magnetron sputtering on two kinds of ferritic stainless steels (Crofer22APU and F17TNb) in order to form spinel protective coatings on metallic interconnects for solid oxide fuel cells. Despite the thickness unevenness at different regions, dense metallic coatings were successfully applied onto all necessary surfaces of the channelled interconnect substrates. Upon oxidation, spinel oxide coatings with very low Cr content were formed, reducing effectively the Cr release. Among the three protective coatings, Co–Cu coating showed the lowest area specific resistance (<15  cm2 at 800 °C).  相似文献
