In this research work, Zinc(II) and Aluminum(III)-IIP's were synthesized by optimizing the amount of methacrylic acid as monomer, divinylbenzene as cross-linker. The IIP's were functionalized with 8-hydroxy quinolone complexes of the two metal ions under thermal conditions by copolymerization with monomer and cross-linker. The IIP's and Non-IIP's were characterized using FT-IR, TGA, and SEM analysis. A quite remarkable difference in the size was observed of the polymers (Zn(II) 1.0 µm and Al(III) 0.1 µm). A stronger affinity was observed with IIP in comparison with Non-IIP at pH 3.1 and 4.5 for Zn(II) and Al(III) ions on their respective polymers.  相似文献

Density functional calculations were performed on Zr0.9Ti0.1(Ni0.5Cr0.5-xVx)2 Laves Phase, with x = 0, 0.125, 0.25, 0.375 and 0.5, in order to study its H absorption capacity. Binding energy, electronic structure and bonding were analyzed for the intermetallic compound with different V content and increasing amounts of hydrogen.The optimized geometry was found in good agreement with experimental data of the C14 Laves phase. Hydrogen locates preferentially in A2B2 tetrahedral sites in the AB2 matrix (A = Zr, Ti; B = Ni, Cr, V) but AB3 and B4sites are also stable. The volume of the intermetallic and the H binding energy increases with vanadium content. Theoretically H absorption is possible up to 4.5 H/F.U. but the strongest binding energy is achieved with 3 H/F. U.The main contribution to density of states is due to d states of all components of the structure and an H-metal bonding is observed in the range ?10 to ?4 eV.  相似文献

From a reading of much literature emanating from the 1970s, one would get the impression that the tenants’ movement in Britain was a united force organised into ‘urban social movements’ which showed an orientation towards militant collective action. On the basis of research in six local authority areas, this paper shows that such a picture gives an inaccurate view of the tenants’ movement in Britain in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Rather the tenants’ movement is divided on the basis of social class, status and consumption position. Further, although tenants do show some degree of collective feeling, they rarely have a strong orientation towards collective, militant, protest action.  相似文献

This paper investigates the pattern of crack coalescence and strength of a sandstone-like material containing two parallel inclined frictional cracks under uniaxial compression, with changing values of inclination of preexisting cracks α, bridge angle β (inclination between the inner tips of the two preexisting cracks), and the frictional coefficient μ on the surfaces of the preexisting cracks. Three main modes of crack coalescence are observed: the shear (S) mode (shear cracking between the two preexisting cracks); the mixed shear/tensile (M) mode (propagation of both wing and shear cracks within the bridge area); and the wing tensile (W) mode (coalescence of wing cracks from the tips of the preexisting cracks). The M-mode and W-mode of crack coalescence can further be divided into two and six types, respectively. Simple regime classifications of coalescence in the αβ space are proposed for different values of μ (=0.6, 0.7 and 0.9). In general, the S-mode mainly occurs when α=β or when β<β*(α, μ)=a−bα, with both a and b depending on μ; the M-mode dominates when βL>β>β*(α, μ) (where βL≈82.5°); and the W-mode is only observed when β>βL. However, more experiments are still required to refine the classification. The observed peak strength, in general, increases with μ. Our results show that the peak strength predicted by the Ashby and Hallam (1986) model basically agrees with experiments. A minimum occurs at about α=65° when the peak strength is plotted against α. For α>45°, the peak strength is essentially independent of the bridge angle β.  相似文献

Since the discovery of the 'formose reaction' by Butlerow, total synthesis of carbohydrates has undergone rapid development. The most important methods for the asymmetric synthesis of monosaccharides and analogues of biological importance are presented. Nowadays any natural and non-natural monosaccharide can be prepared pure in both enantiomeric forms starting from inexpensive starting materials. Metal-based asymmetric catalysis and organocatalysis have been successfully applied, alone or in combination with chemoenzymatic methods. Alternative methods rely upon substrate- or reagent-controlled diastereo- and enantioselective reactions. Suitably protected carbohydrates have been prepared by total synthesis, thus allowing their direct use in the preparation of oligosaccharides and analogues.  相似文献

Crypt fission is now established as an important mechanism of intestinal growth and regeneration. It has been proposed that increased crypt size is the stimulus for crypt fission, because crypts preparing for fission are generally larger. Consequently, we investigated the effects of epidermal growth factor (EGF) and dimethylhydrazine, which are both known to stimulate crypt cell proliferation, on crypt fission in the rat intestine. We also examined whether the effects of EGF on both proliferation and crypt fission are modified by the pretreatment with dimethylhydrazine for 16 weeks, dimethylhydrazine was then discontinued for 8 weeks, followed by intravenous infusion of EGF for 1 week. There were four groups: vehicle alone, EGF alone, dimethylhydrazine alone, and dimethylhydrazine followed by EGF infusion. The rats were killed at 25 weeks and rates of intestinal crypt cell production, crypt size, and crypt fission were determined. Intravenously infused EGF significantly increased crypt cell production rate, but the magnitude of the effect decreased from the proximal to the distal colon. EGF caused an increase in crypt area, possibly reflecting an increase in crypt size. Importantly dimethylhydrazine had no significant effect on crypt cell production rate nor on crypt area in the distal colon, but it did cause an increase in crypt area in the mid-colon. The crypt fission index was significantly decreased by EGF and increased by dimethylhydrazine. There was no qualitative interaction between EGF and dimethylhydrazine. These results demonstrate the marked proliferative effect of intravenously infused EGF in the colon of orally fed rats, with significant site effects (P = 0.0007); the effect was greatest in the proximal colon and disappeared in the distal colon. The observation that EGF reduced crypt fission indicates that increased cell proliferation, per se, is not a stimulus for crypt fission. This is further supported by the observation that dimethylhydrazine increases crypt fission in crypts of normal size in the distal colon without significantly increasing cell proliferation. These results suggest that increasing crypt cellularity by proliferation is not sufficient to induce crypt fission, and factors other than increased crypt size by proliferation can control crypt fission. It is also probable that cell proliferation and crypt fission are independently regulated. Crypt fission appears to play a considerable role in the intestinal response to carcinogens.  相似文献
