Efficient data layout is an important aspect of the compilation process. A model for the creation of perfect memory maps for large-scale parallel machines capable of user-controlled partitionable single-instruction-multiple data/single-program-multiple data (SIMD/SPMD) operation is developed. The term perfect implies that no memory fragmentation occurs and ensures that the memory map size is kept to a minimum. A major constraint on solving this problem is based on the single program nature of both the SIMD and SPMD modes of parallelism. It is assumed that all processors within the same submachine used identical addresses to access corresponding data items in each of their local memories. Necessary and sufficient conditions are derived for being able to create perfect memory maps, and results are applied to several partitionable interconnection networks  相似文献

Bone grafts are used to lengthen the dorsum and elevate the tip of the nose in patients with Binder's syndrome. Disappointing long-term results in some patients generally have been assumed to be a result of resorption and/or displacement of the grafts. Treatment outcome was studied in 11 patients with the use of serial profile roentgenograms. At 40 months, the mean values after surgery were reduction of the initial transplant length by 28 percent and reduction of the transplant angle by 4 degrees. The initial nose length was increased by 1 mm, and nose tip projection was increased by 2 mm. Although the mean changes of nose length and nose tip projection seemed small, treatment outcome varied considerably between patients. In contrast with earlier assumptions, no correlation could be found between the degree of transplant resorption and/or displacement and the effect of surgery on nose length and nose tip projection.  相似文献

This summary of the practice parameters describes the assessment, differential diagnosis, and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults who present with symptoms of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. The rationales for specific recommendations are based on a review of the scientific literature and clinical consensus which is contained in the complete document. Assessment includes clinical interviews with the child and parents and standardized rating scales from parent and teachers. Testing of intelligence and academic achievement is usually required. Comorbidity is common. The cornerstones of treatment are support and education of parents, appropriate school placement, and psychopharmacology. The primary medications are psychostimulants, but antidepressants and alpha-adrenergic agonists are used in special circumstances. Other treatments such as behavior modification, school consultation, family therapy, and group therapy address remaining symptoms.  相似文献

PURPOSE: To quantify how frequently mesenteric adenitis clinically mimics appendicitis and to determine its appearance at computed tomography (CT). MATERIALS AND METHODS: The medical records of 651 consecutive patients with an admission diagnosis of appendicitis were reviewed to determine how often mesenteric adenitis was the discharge diagnosis. The CT scans of a separate group of 18 patients with a discharge diagnosis of mesenteric adenitis were reviewed. These patients were part of a group of 100 consecutive patients prospectively evaluated with CT of the appendix for clinically suspected appendicitis. RESULTS: Fifty of 651 patients (7.7%) with an admission diagnosis of appendicitis had a discharge diagnosis of mesenteric adenitis. Mesenteric adenitis constituted 50 of the 252 (19.8%) discharge diagnoses other than appendicitis. All 18 CT scans of mesenteric adenitis showed three or more nodes that measured at least 5 mm in shortest axis clustered in the right lower quadrant, with a normal appendix identified. Eight patients had associated ileal or ileocecal wall thickening. CONCLUSION: Mesenteric adenitis is an important clinical mimic of appendicitis. It appears at CT as clustered, enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes with a normal appendix, and there may be associated ileitis or ileocolitis noted.  相似文献

A 28 mW/MHz at 80 MHz structured-custom RISC microprocessor design is described. This 32-b implementation of the PowerPC architecture is fabricated in a 3.3 V, 0.5 μm, 4-level metal CMOS technology, resulting in 1.6 million transistors in a 7.4 mm by 11.5 mm chip size. Dual 8-kilobyte instruction and data caches coupled to a high performance 32/64-b system bus and separate execution units (float, integer, loadstore, and system units) result in peak instruction rates of three instructions per clock cycle. Low-power design techniques are used throughout the entire design, including dynamically powered down execution units. Typical power dissipation is kept under 2.2 W at 80 MHz. Three distinct levels of software-programmable, static, low-power operation-for system power management are offered, resulting in standby power dissipation from 2 mW to 350 mW. CPU to bus clock ratios of 1×, 2×, 3×, and 4× are implemented to allow control of system power while maintaining processor performance. As a result, workstation level performance is packed into a low-power, low-cost design ideal for notebooks and desktop computers  相似文献

By DTA and x-ray diffraction the phase relations in the pseudobinary system In-CuInS2 have been investigated. CuInS2 hs a melting point of 1090° C and within this system there is a broad region of liquid immiscibility. A wet air oxidation reaction was carried out in a gas/liquid catalytic membrane reactor of the contactor type. The oxidation of formic acid was used as a model reaction. The mesoporous top-layer of a ceramic tubular membrane was used as catalyst (Pt) support, and was placed at the interface of the gas (air) and liquid (HCOOH solution) phases.

A similar reaction was carried out in a conventional batch reactor, using a steering rate high enough to avoid gas-diffusion limitations, and exactly identical conditions than for the CMR (amount of catalyst, pressure, etc.). At room temperature, the CMR showed an initial activity three to six times higher than the conventional reactor. This activity increase was attributed to an easier oxygen access to the catalytic sites. Nevertheless, the catalytic membrane gradually deactivated after a few hours of operation. The effects of pressure on reactant conversion and product selectivities in three catalytic oxidation systems have been examined at pressures between 1 and > 5 atm. Reaction was sustained autothermally near adiabatic operating conditions at temperatures of 1000°C with residence times over the noble metal catalysts between 10–4 and 10–2 s. The three systems investigated were (1) HCN synthesis over Pt-10% Rh gauze catalysts, (2) methane oxidation to synthesis gas (CO and H2) over rhodium-coated monoliths, and (3) ethane conversion to ethylene over platinum-coated monoliths. We find that selectivities in all three reactions do not change dramatically with approximately a five-fold increase in pressure. This strongly suggests that free radical homogeneous chain reactions are not significant in these processes and that they can be operated reliably above atmospheric pressure. For the synthesis of HCN over Pt-10% Rh gauzes, the selectivity to HCN can be maintained above 0.75 at pressures up to 5.5 atm. Selectivities to synthesis gas (CO and H2) from a methane-air mixture over a Rh-coated foam monolith at pressures up to 5.5 atm were maintained above 0.90. Over a Pt-coated foam monolith, the selectivity to ethylene from ethane-air and ethane-O2 mixtures was independent of pressure up to 6.5 atm and conversion rose slightly although it was necessary to maintain constant velocity and residence time over the catalyst to avoid carbon formation.This research was supported by DOE under Grant No. DE-FG02-88ER13878.  相似文献

We have implemented and validated automated protocols for DNA extraction and PCR setup using a Tecan Freedom EVO liquid handler mounted with the Te-MagS magnetic separation device (Tecan, M?nnedorf, Switzerland). The protocols were validated for accredited forensic genetic work according to ISO 17025 using the Qiagen MagAttract DNA Mini M48 kit (Qiagen GmbH, Hilden, Germany) from fresh whole blood and blood from deceased individuals. The workflow was simplified by returning the DNA extracts to the original tubes minimizing the risk of misplacing samples. The tubes that originally contained the samples were washed with MilliQ water before the return of the DNA extracts. The PCR was setup in 96-well microtiter plates. The methods were validated for the kits: AmpF?STR Identifiler, SGM Plus and Yfiler (Applied Biosystems, Foster City, CA), GenePrint FFFL and PowerPlex Y (Promega, Madison, WI). The automated protocols allowed for extraction and addition of PCR master mix of 96 samples within 3.5h. In conclusion, we demonstrated that (1) DNA extraction with magnetic beads and (2) PCR setup for accredited, forensic genetic short tandem repeat typing can be implemented on a simple automated liquid handler leading to the reduction of manual work, and increased quality and throughput.  相似文献

Spacecraft formation reconfiguration with collision avoidance   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
In this paper we present a behavioral control solution for reconfiguration of a spacecraft formation using the Null-Space Based (NSB) concept. The solution is task based, and aims to reconfigure and maintain a rigid formation while avoiding collisions between spacecraft. A model of relative translation is derived, together with a passivity-based sliding surface controller which globally stabilizes the equilibrium point of the closed-loop system. The NSB control method is implemented by giving each task different priorities and then calculating desired velocity and a Jacobian matrix for each spacecraft and each task. The velocity vector for each task is then projected into the null-space for higher prioritized tasks to remove conflicting velocity components. Simulation results are presented, showing that each spacecraft moves into the predefined formation without breaking any rules for the higher priority tasks, and all collisions are avoided.  相似文献
