The objective of this contribution is the development of theoretical and numerical models applicable to large strain analysis of hyperelastic shells confining particular attention to incompressible materials. The theoretical model is developed on the basis of a quadratic displacement approximation in thickness coordinate by neglecting transverse shear strains. In the case of incompressible materials this leads to a three-parametric theory governed solely by mid-surface displacements. The material incompressiblity is expressed by two equivalent equation sets considered at the element level as subsidiary conditions. For the simulation of nonlinear material behaviour the Mooney-Rivlin model is adopted including neo-Hookean materials as a special case. After transformation of nonlinear relations into incremental formulation doubly curved triangular and quadrilateral elements are developed via the displacement method. In this paper, we consider the design of globally asymptotically stabilizing state-dependent switching rules for multimodal systems, first restricting attention to linear time-invariant (LTI) systems with only two states for the switch, and then generalizing the results to multimodal LTI systems and to nonlinear systems. In all cases, the systems considered do not allow the construction of a single quadratic Lyapunov function and, hence, fall in the class of problems that require multiple Lyapunov functions and thus are nonconvex. To address the challenge of nonconvexity , we introduce probabilistic algorithms, and prove their probability-one convergence under a new notion of convergence. Then, to reduce complexity, we develop modified versions of the algorithm. We also present a class of more general nonconvex problems to which this approach can be applied. The results are illustrated using two- and three-dimensional systems with multiple switch states.  相似文献

Anionic, cationic and nonionic surfactants being frequently employed in the textile preparation process were subjected to H(2)O(2)/UV-C treatment. As a consequence of the considerable number of parameters affecting the H(2)O(2)/UV-C process, an experimental design methodology was used to mathematically describe and optimize the single and combined influences of the critical process variables treatment time, initial H(2)O(2)concentration and chemical oxygen demand (COD) on parent pollutant (surfactant) as well as organic carbon (COD and total organic carbon (TOC)) removal efficiencies. Multivariate analysis was based on two different photochemical treatment targets; (i) full oxidation/complete treatment of the surfactants or, alternatively, (ii) partial oxidation/pretreatment of the surfactants to comply with the legislative discharge requirements. According to the established polynomial regression models, the process independent variables "treatment time" (exerting a positive effect) and "initial COD content" (exerting a negative effect) played more significant roles in surfactant photodegradation than the process variable "initial H(2)O(2) concentration" under the studied experimental conditions.  相似文献

This paper presents a control design for the one‐phase Stefan problem under actuator delay via a backstepping method. The Stefan problem represents a liquid‐solid phase change phenomenon which describes the time evolution of a material's temperature profile and the interface position. The actuator delay is modeled by a first‐order hyperbolic partial differential equation (PDE), resulting in a cascaded transport‐diffusion PDE system defined on a time‐varying spatial domain described by an ordinary differential equation (ODE). Two nonlinear backstepping transformations are utilized for the control design. The setpoint restriction is given to guarantee a physical constraint on the proposed controller for the melting process. This constraint ensures the exponential convergence of the moving interface to a setpoint and the exponential stability of the temperature equilibrium profile and the delayed controller in the norm. Furthermore, robustness analysis with respect to the delay mismatch between the plant and the controller is studied, which provides analogous results to the exact compensation by restricting the control gain.  相似文献

Computational Markets to Regulate Mobile-Agent Systems   总被引:9,自引:0,他引:9  
Mobile-agent systems allow applications to distribute their resource consumption across the network. By prioritizing applications and publishing the cost of actions, it is possible for applications to achieve faster performance than in an environment where resources are evenly shared. We enforce the costs of actions through markets, where user applications bid for computation from host machines.We represent applications as collections of mobile agents and introduce a distributed mechanism for allocating general computational priority to mobile agents. We derive a bidding strategy for an agent that plans expenditures given a budget, and a series of tasks to complete. We also show that a unique Nash equilibrium exists between the agents under our allocation policy. We present simulation results to show that the use of our resource-allocation mechanism and expenditure-planning algorithm results in shorter mean job completion times compared to traditional mobile-agent resource allocation. We also observe that our resource-allocation policy adapts favorably to allocate overloaded resources to higher priority agents, and that agents are able to effectively plan expenditures, even when faced with network delay and job-size estimation error.  相似文献

Nutritional intake appears to be an important factor contributing to aging. In the present study we describe changes in physical health related to nutritional intake among elderly persons in a 10-y longitudinal study. Among 304 healthy elderly participants (median age 72 y on entry into the study in 1980), 97 (34.2%) are still in good health 10 y later in 1990, 74 (26.5%) have become frail or sick, 54 (19.1%) have died, and 57 (20.1%) have dropped out of the study. Women with lower or higher energy intakes (in 1980 and 1981) than the current Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA; between 25 and 30 kcal/kg) were more likely to become frail or sick or to die in 1990 than those with energy intake in the midrange (below RDA, odds ratio (OR) = 3.3, confidence interval (CI) = 1.2-8.6; above RDA, OR = 3.4, CI: 1.1-10.7). Moreover, women with protein intakes greater than the midrange of 0.8-1.2 g/kg of body weight (1.20-1.76 g/kg in 1980 and 1981) tended to have fewer health problems over the next 10 y than those with protein intakes < 0.8 g/kg, suggesting that the mean protein requirement in elderly adults is greater than that established by the 1985 joint World Health Organization/ FAO/UNU Expert Committee. Moreover, a decrease in energy intake was greater in elderly persons who died or dropped out of the study because of illness.  相似文献

It is shown that the discrete-time disturbance rejection problem, formulated in finite and infinite horizons, and under perfect state measurements, can be solved by making direct use of some results on linear-quadratic zero-sum dynamic games. For the finite-horizon problem an optimal (minimax) controller exists, and can be expressed in terms of a generalized (time-varying) discrete-time Riccati equation. The existence of an optimum also holds in the infinite-horizon case, under an appropriate observability condition, with the optimal control, given in terms of a generalized algebraic Riccati equation, also being stabilizing. In both cases, the corresponding worst-case disturbances turn out to be correlated random sequences with discrete distributions, which means that the problem (viewed as a dynamic game between the controller and the disturbance) does not admit a pure-strategy saddle point.
