Catalytic transfer hydrogenation of corn, peanut, olive, soybean, and sunflower oils has been studied with aqueous sodium
formate solution as hydrogen donor and palladium on carbon as catalyst. Kinetic constants and selectivity have been determined
under intensive stirring in the presence of stabilizing agents. Hydrogenation reactions followed first-order kinetics with
respect to fatty acids. Besides good selectivity and short reaction time, this method offers safe and easy handling. The presence
of linolenic acid retards the migration of double bonds, which explains why soybean oil is the most appropriate for this hydrogenation

This paper discusses the results of geophysical and chemical investigations carried out in a chemical munition dumpsite in the southern Baltic Sea, east of the island of Bornholm. After WW2 over 32,000 tons of chemical war material was dumped here including shells and bombs as well as small drums and containers. The geophysical investigations combined very-high-resolution seismics and gradiometric measurements. The results indicate the presence of a large number of objects buried just below the seafloor. The size of the objects and their distribution, with a marked increase in density towards the center of the dumpsite, suggests that we are dealing with dumped war material. Sediment and near-bottom water samples, taken within the dumpsite and in the surrounding area, were analysed for the presence of various chemical warfare agents (CWA) including Adamsite, Clark, sulphur mustard, tabun, chlorobenzene and arsine oil. The results indicate a widespread contamination that reaches far beyond the dumpsite boundary. CWA degradation products were found in most of the sediment samples. The contamination was mostly related to arsenic containing compounds; only one sample indicated the presence of sulfur mustard. Although the correlation between detected objects and CWA concentrations is not always straightforward, the overall results suggest that a lot of the dumped war material is leaking and that over the years the contamination has reached the seafloor sediments. 相似文献

The alkylation of isobutane with 2-butene on hexagonal (protonated form = H EMT, investigated, for the first time on this reaction) and cubic faujasite (protonated form = H FAU) with Si/Al ratios of 3.5 was studied at 80°C and compared with the results obtained for a cerium exchanged Y zeolite (Ce Y). The alkylate composition consisted of 90% and about 80% C8 paraffins for H EMT and H FAU/Ce Y, respectively. Within the C8 fractions the three trimethylpentanes (TMP) 2,2,4-, 2,3,3- and 2,3,4-TMP were the dominating product compounds in all tests, whereas a higher content of dimethylhexanes (DMH) was observed for the H FAU and Ce Y. However, among the four trimethylpentanes 2,3,3,-TMP and 2,3,4-TMP were always the main compounds formed. Oligomerization was favoured only by the H FAU and Ce Y, with a strong increase of C8 olefins after about one third of the observed reaction time. On the contrary, H EMT exhibited much less formation of C8 olefins (and on a constant level) even after 300 min reaction time. The deactivated samples showed only formation of non-aromatic coke. The differences in the product pattern were attributed to the slightly larger size of the second type of supercage in EMT and to the stronger Bronsted acid sites in the hexagonal faujasite.Dedicated to Professor Dr. Martin Klessinger on the occasion of his 60th birthday. 相似文献

The reinforcement of a specifically developed fine grained cement matrix with glass fibre textiles in high fibre volume fractions creates a fire safe composite that has-besides its usual compressive strength-an important tensile capacity and omits the need for any steel reinforcement. Strongly curved shells made of textile reinforced cement composites (TRC) can cover medium (up to 15 m) span spaces with three times smaller shell thicknesses than conventional steel-reinforced concrete shells. This paper presents a methodology to generate force-modelled anticlastic shell shapes that exploit both the tensile and compressive load carrying capacities of TRC. The force-modelling is based on the dynamic relaxation form finding method developed for gravity (in this case self-weight) loaded systems. The potential of the presented methodology to develop structurally sound anticlastic shell shapes is illustrated by four case studies. 相似文献

A dietary exposure assessment of food emulsifiers E481 (sodium stearoyl-2-lactylate) and E482 (calcium stearoyl-2-lactylate) in the Belgian population was performed. Nationally representative food consumption data from the Belgian National Food Consumption Surveys 2004 (BNFCS2004) and 2014 (BNFCS2014) were used for calculations. A conservative approach (combining individual food consumption data with the maximum permitted level (MPL) of foods (tier 2), was compared with more refined estimates (combining individual food consumption data with actual concentrations measured in food products available on the Belgian market (tier 3)). Estimated daily intakes were compared to the acceptable daily intake (ADI) of the stearoyl-2-lactylates. The results of tier 2 demonstrated that 92% of the children (3–9 years), 53% of the adolescents (10–17 years), 15% of the adults (18–64 years) and 26% of the elderly (64–98 years) had a potential intake higher than the ADI. When replacing the MPL with maximum analysed concentration levels in foods, daily intake estimates decreased dramatically. The estimated daily intake of the food emulsifiers was below the ADI for all age groups, except for a small percentage of children (1.9%) for which the intake exceeded the ADI. The ability of the pediocin AcH producing Lactobacillus plantarum DDEN 11007 and its non-producing plasmid-cured isogenic variant, DDEN 12305 to prevent the persistence and growth of Listeria monocytogenes EP2 in two gastrointestinal (GI) tract models was examined. In vitro studies conducted in a two-stage continuous flow system showed that L. plantarum DDEN 11007 inhibited L. monocytogenes EP2 under these conditions, while less effect was seen of the non-bacteriocin producing variant. The inhibitory effect was more pronounced at pH 5 than at pH 7. No effect on persistence of L. monocytogenes in the GI tract was seen in gnotobiotic rats colonized with either the pediocin AcH producing or the non-bacteriocin producing variant of L. plantarum when compared to rats inoculated with L. monocytogenes EP2 alone. Surprisingly, inoculation of the gnotobiotic animals with either of the L. plantarum strains prior to inoculation with L. monocytogenes EP2 resulted in increased occurrence of L. monocytogenes in liver and spleen when compared to the animals inoculated with L. monocytogenes EP2 alone. Our results indicate that the presence of L. plantarum in the gut of gnotobiotes facilitates L. monocytogenes invasion by an unknown mechanism. This observation is however not necessarily specifically related to L. plantarum, and should not be interpreted as the expected effect in animals carrying a conventional intestinal microflora. 相似文献

alpha-GalCer (also known as KRN7000) is an immunomodulatory glycolipid that is known to potently activate invariant natural killer T (NKT) cells upon CD1d-mediated stimulation. Because Th1 and Th2 cytokines, which are released after alpha-GalCer presentation, antagonize each other's effects, alpha-GalCer analogues that induce a biased Th1/Th2 response are highly awaited.
